I bumped into this article to day and it got me thinking. I cannot quote the verse but I understand that it was said that in the end or before the end "The lion would sleep with the lamb?". Something to that effect. Lions Rescue, Guard Beaten Ethiopian Girl Tell me what you think. I may be getting carried away, but we cannot overlook such happenings. She was not old enough it seems to be considered a "woman" therefore as a child she could be considered a lamb. I guess the "miracle" is that the lions did not harm her. Seems too conspicuous to be coincidence.

Its a sad story indeed. When I first saw JS I though WOW. She was/is a looker. But more than that, she can really sing. Its a shame that she and her family have fallen into "the world". I have seen a few shows about her and it seems to me that her father has been driving this train from the beginning. She seems to be an easy going spirit who only wants to have fun. Her father however seem to have sacrificed his servitude to God to worship Mammon. I hope and Pray that they change course and return to their masters feet and once again lift up their voices to praise him. Wouldn't it be glorious to have a song to him hit no.1 on the pop charts? Think of all the souls she/they could touch by simply putting one song per album to praise his Holy name.

Those big bad Christians. They're the ones blowing everyone else up by not converting in the first place. Who are they to say their God is better than anyone elses? You must have me confused with someone who thinks all religions are equal. How can you stand for something if you believe in nothing? I hope that you aren't going to try and convince me that Islam is a peaceful religion. I do believe there are those who CLAIM to be Muslim who are actually loving, caring and considerate people who could not bring themselves to kill another person. The simple fact is that Islam teaches that those who WILL not be converted must be killed. Not passed over, not to be patient with or forgiven or consigned to the fait they would be allowed to choose for themselves.....but KILLED. Has this sunk in yet? Yes the Constitution guarantees us many rights that many other countries forsake. We are indeed fortunate. We must also remember that the people that wrote the constitutions were Christians. This country was founded by Christians for all Peace and Freedom loving people to enjoy. If America stands for anything its PEACE AND FREEDOM. Its not our Job to force democracy on the rest of the world. But I believe its everyones duty to fight for freedom. That being said I don't agree with or condone what the Muslims are pushing. Not to my children or yours. They have the freedom to believe what they will just as we do.....but personally I wish they would return to where they came from to believe it. YES I will be cautious and even suspicious of all muslims even if they are Americans. As Christians we are taught to love everyone, even our enemies. I love you and everyone and wish you all good things. I don't have to like you or agree with you to love you. And so it is. If you continue to forsake God and worship at the alter of America instead of the feet of His one begotten son you may find yourself wishing you had never been born.

So what you are saying is you wish to encourage people to accept Mohammed as their savior rather than Jesus? If not then why concern yourself with their right to do so? I posted the link to reafirm the fact that not are they among us but their numbers are growing. As their numbers grow in America it will become harder to tell them from everyone else.....of course not untill they have blown themselves up with a couple hundred other Americans. Not because they thought they were infadels but because they were Americans. Not long ago a journalist in the Netherlands (I believe) wrote an article in a local paper about how women are opressed in Islamic countries. In less than a week she had been stabbed to death in a public park for her opinion. That could very well happen here at some point. I believe caution, in this case, is the better part of valor. I am not saying be fearful or even distant....just aware and alert. Your caution does not even need to be for your own sake but for the sake of those around you and those you love.

I would say that I am fearful about the way things are going, but we all know these things must come to pass so that prophesy can be fulfilled. I see a sect of people bent on separating " church and state " to such a degree that they will not be happy untill so called "peace loving and tolerant athiests" are running things. Meanwhile across the globe, rumor of a Quran being placed on a toilet sparks anti-Christian/anti-American riots while in the shadows their Governments routinely burn Bibles and Crucifixes and more. The same kind of governments that hold parades with Missiles with banners on them saying "death to Israel or death to America" all the while insisting they have a "right" to possess nuclear technology? The situation in the world today is not unlike most episodes of "the three stooges". One country stomps anothers toes only to get slapped in the back of the head by another country who in turn gets his eyes poked, and so on and so on. Even when there is relative peace and cooperation they always seem to find some reason to begin the exchanges all over again. I could go on but I find myself more and more asking "How much longer must we wait Lord"? Truely we are humbeled by your mercy. When we all find the limit to our own mercy yours is still overflowing. Forgive us for our ignorance and lack of faith as we are reminded again that your way is truth, wisdom, patience and love. All glory to you Father.

Shortly after being saved I came across an article/pamphlet about the USA in biblical prophesy. I thought it was interesting how the writer traced the steps of one of the tribes of Israel to the USA. The writer made alot of cense to me at the time. He spoke of the journey of the tribe of Dan as it traveled northward through Britain on to Ireland. Since my ancestors are Welsh/Irish I took the handle O'Dannyboy. :-)

CHARLESTON, West Virginia (AP) -- Even Jesus Christ can't circumvent the rules for getting a driver's license in West Virginia. Attempts to prove his name really is Christ have led the man born as Peter Robert Phillips Jr. through a lengthy legal battle and a recent victory in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. "This all started with him expressing his faith and his respect and love for Jesus Christ," attorney A.P. Pishevar told The Associated Press. "Now he needs to document it for legal reasons." Described by his attorney as a white-haired businessman in his mid-50s, Christ is moving to West Virginia to enjoy a slower lifestyle. He bought property near Lost River, about 100 miles west of Washington, and has a U.S. passport, Social Security card and Washington driver's license bearing the name Jesus Christ. But he still falls short of West Virginia title and license transfer requirements because his Florida birth certificate has his original name on it and he has been unable to obtain an official name change in Washington. "We just need official documentation that that's his name," said Doug Stump, commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles. "He will be treated no different than anybody else." Christ applied for the legal name change in May 2003, but it was denied by District of Columbia Superior Court Judge Tim Murphy because "taking the name of Jesus Christ may provoke a violent reaction or may significantly offend people." In his appeal, Christ's attorney argued that Phillips had changed his name to Jesus Christ 15 years earlier, and "has been using the name since then without incident." The appeals court last month sent the name-change proposal back to the lower court, saying some required hearings in the case had not been held. Any comment from the man in the middle of this legal tussle? "Christ is not speaking to the press at this time," Pishevar said. I know that many will come in his name, but do you think this is what he meant? Why would anyone WAN'T to name themselves after Jesus? What is also notable is that his last name is (Christ). I am not sure that there are many people who think Christ is Jesus' real name. For those of us who know and love Jesus, we also know that he was/is THE CHRIST whose name is holiest given among men. This man who claims to have changed his name for "Faith" reasons, is doing nothing more than mocking the faith of true believers. IMHO

One thing rings true that our fly by night poster did not say directly but implied. We cannot take out pastors and preachers interpretation of scripture at face value. Like Catsmeow said, we must read, meditate and nourish our relationship with our Father in Heaven. I know that there cannot be any "what ifs" for a faithful person. I will not allow myself to being tricked into doubting my Lord and Fathers intent and ability to show and provide fo me what I need. I doubt that he put it on my heart only to let me fall away. John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Your feelings and concerns are not misplaced. If you wish to witness to them discretely then I think your place would be a great setting. The host should be making the decissions regarding what behaviors and activites are acceptable. However, we are told to distance ourselves from those living in a manner contrary to that which has been set for us. If you truly wish to see them saved and love them then you might consider a more forward aproach with them. If it is important to you then there is no time to delay. Basically, if the dangling carrot aproach has not worked then you might try grabbing hold of their upper lip and shoving it in....so to speak. Where someones salvation is concerned, we no longer have the luxurey of dancing around the subject. Think like Joe Friday......."just the facts maam". Please don't take me literaly unless it makes cense. I too have family members that I would take great joy in seeing them come to Christ, but considdering the shortness of time we have left, I cannot see dwelling on one when many are in need. Our task is to plant the seeds. An Jesus said:

Its more like a knifes edge, if you could stand on it you would definately be cut in two. I will watch it though there are many things about it that concern me. Firstly: Looks a little too much like Baal or Baalan. Secondly I am concerned because the whole movie is fictional. It seems the whole movie is a platform for tolerance but with a "one world religion" undercurrent. It promotes some of Jesus teachings and leaves Jesus out of the picture.

SO right you are. OUR FATHER is the beginning of wisdom. When we first look at our relationship with God we must not forget he is our Father above all things. Knowing this we can better understand why he does what he does. He does demand we do things according to his commands but he also encourages and rewards those who follows them. Many people subscribe to the belief that God wants it to be all about him. I tend to struggle with that concept knowing our Father is an emotional being. John 11:35 Jesus wept. When you play with the caterpillar in the back yard do you do it to feel more powerful or to interact with it and take joy in the wonder of its creation? We are not so insignificant to our Father as the caterpillar is to us yet we marvel nonetheless. Luke 12:27 Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. There are also among you those who believe that God cares not for our opinions or impressions yet he loved men so, that he called them friend. Even so he humbled himself before men to wash their feet that they might be humbled in turn. I have heard people say that a REAL man is not afraid to cry. There is truth in that just as it also is true that the bigger man is he who turns the other cheek or walks away when confronted in anger. So then it wouldalso hold true that he who is humble before other men is in turn exhalted. It all makes more cense to me as I grow in the spirit. All those natural things we yearn for are the same things that defile us and reinforce dillusions of grandeur when in truth we need no more than the faith of a mustard seed. James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you. Incidently, how many of you have seen a mustard seed? Its perhaps twice the size of a grain of sand. Pretty small wouldn't you say?

Well said Shiloh. I was trying to find the verse that speaks of the abomination in the Lords Temple and found these instead. No Doubt I was meant to find them. Revelation 3:12
-
Its not sounding like it has been adopted to me. Are you unable to keep this sabbath Holy if you are unable to celebrate it on the Temple Mount? I too would like to visit the Holy land and worship and I am prepared to sell all I own when The Temple is built. Yet I do not find myself compelled to go to the Holy Land just yet. When the time comes I will be ready.
-
The times that I have felt the Holy Spirit move in me I felt opened up and what hardness there was of my heart was healed and I did weap. Glory be to him who washes away my sins and in his glory shall the Father receive glory in him. There are many references to the "laying of hands" where the Holy Spirit is concerened. I know whenever I am overcome by the Holy Sprirt, in those moments while I weap, I recall the humility and joy so powerful you can't help by think "take me now lord".

Funny thing credit. Back in 2002 I had to file bankruptcy. I am not proud of it nor can I change that fact. Since then there has been an endless flow of so called Pre-aproved credit card offers. I am told that having feed up $____ of disposable income along with the fact that I couldnt file bankruptcy for another 10 years made me a tempting target. I had no trouble understanding that. Every so often I find myself overdrafting my checking acount by overlooking a pending draft from my account and wind up sacrificing 29-87 dollars for this simple oversight. Late last year I applied for a credit card through my bank to tie to my checking acount, for overdraft protection. I wasn't asking for a $6000 credit line or anything, just a couple hundred to create a buffer between me and censeless fees. Needless to say, I was turned down. This has promted me to take a look at my credit to see what, other than a bankruptcy, could be making me look so bad. Well, as I feared, there are a couple companies reporting incorrectly and making look very bad indeed. One of my creditors decided that after having to write off my debt that they would open another account for $1 and write it off too just to spite me. May I recommend that, if you don't already, check your credit history regularly. Dispute anything you don't agree with and if that doesn't work you have the right to have your own comments included in your report. Free Credit Report.com has been usefull but before you sign up for this make sure you check annual credit report.com. Save the annual credit report site so that you can check your credit report anually for free. Another great reason to keep tabs on your credit is Identity theft. Just like Freecreditreport.com there are many companies that will monitor your credit and report any activity right to your e-mail. Pretty handy for those who can afford it. Anyhow. I hope some of you find this information helpfull and that some of you will add your 2 cents as well. If you have any advice that might help me then I am all ears. May God bless and keep you all, in Jesus name.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting tidbit indeed. I started a short while back putting together a survival kit. Not sure if I will ever find a need for it but I guess to some small degree it gives me a cense of relief. I know alot of people are of the opinion that the U.S. is destined for some sort of judgement either by plague or nuclear war or what. Even the possibility of not being able to buy and sell without the mark has propmted me to prepare to some degree. Am I foolish or paranoid in your faithful opinions? Is it wise to prepare for the possibilty of escaping civilization or do you think it would be better to stay among the people and spread the gospel to ones last breath? I know that even if I am not the user of this survival kit that someone will make good use of it at some point.

Amen Oak! Praise God for his endless mercy. With Gods blessing may you be made whole again that your testimony may bring his light to those around you.

Before I was saved I was dating a woman who had a great deal of guilt. It hurt me so to see her so humbled and saddened. She fell asleep on my sofa as we watched television one night after a long talk. As she slept I prayed that she would be freed from her guilt so she might be happy and free again. Understand that I was not yet saved yet I prayed with tears in my eyes for almost half an hour. My prayer was answered. She no longer apreciated the attention I gave her before long it seemed she was having a relationship outside of ours. It was then that I realised that guilt and remorse are part of humilty and so are required to be humble. I no longer find myself sad about my mistakes for my own sake. I do the best I can to learn from those mistakes that I may never repeat them again. I now understand that these are the trials that mold and shape our character. Without humilty and meekness we could never come to apreciate Gods love for us.

Chivalry still lives! At least in me it does. I still open doors for ladies however I have gotten a bit rusty and forget about car doors often. I have even less occasion to pull a ladies chair out for her but I always know when I miss an oportunity. I must admit that I enjoy recieving the thanks for such actions yet I try not to be upset when the ungrateful ones don't think twice about it and walk on. The looks of surprise and gratitude make it all worth while.

And here I thought I had it figured out. Being a popcorn lover I would like to empart the little bit of wisdom I have gained. You know those husks that get caught under your gums or between your teeth? Well, some brands are better than others and it all seems related to the quality of the corn i.e......kernals. The bast brand I know of is Orvil Redenbachers. Very few of the kernals go without being popped and the have some really tastey butter flavors. Other brands like Pop-Secret and ActII are very low grade by comparison. I guess if you liked popcorn enough you could by a popper and the kernals and do it like that. I am still micowave dependant so I will stick with Orvils......at least till I run through this box of ActII I got at Sams Club.

One of my cousins works in the print shop at Swagart Ministries. About every other week I drive within sight of the campus. Its sad. On the corner where I have to make a turn to visit one of our customers, you see a large incomplete building that was meant to be a dormatory for the college. To look at it you would think it was a parking garage. I have no doubt that many good things have come from his ministry. God has seen to that. I still get a cold chill when someone in a tailored three peice suit and shiney gold watch speak of God to me. I have nothing against these men on a personal level. But the damage they do to the image of the Church makes me weep. Understand that I have spent most of my life denying the word of God for the sake of these men that twist it to their own benefit. I denounced a Faith/religion where men of such obvious material desires became icons. In my youth, my encounters with Christians most times revealed a double standard. At one point it seemed that the nautiest children would be found in Christian Private schools. You know..... the preachers daughter complex. Not till recently did I ask him to save me from myself. He has done som much for me in such a short time and yet I am still an infant barely able to crawl. Forgive my harsh comments regarding these televangelists. It is not my wish to speak ill of any man who prospers the word of God. It is only my wish that these men practice what they preach. I still feel that they do more harm than good and I can find no reason to get excited over even one of them being on any television station.
