  1. Just my two cents. A minimum wage job should be able provide an income sufficient to cover all the basic needs of an individual. We should leave the decissions to God, not the government. If we have a problem we need to take it to him.
  2. God will watch over you. Have Faith. Remember, there is nothing to fear but fear itself. That is interesting to learn the difference between a cyclone and a hurricane. Much like flushing a toilet. In the northern hemisphere the water swirls clockways. In the southern hemisphere it swirls counter-clockways. learn something new every day don't we?
  3. Brother Ron is an associate pastor at my church. He gave todays sermon since our head pastor was on the road this weekend. We studied Ephesians and Philippians with our focus on "putting on the FULL armor of God". I learned quite a bit. Before he began his sermon Brother Ron mentioned a web site address. He told us that the majority of these relief/charity organizations offering aid are submitting to restrictions. All that are on the "lists" have forgone any rights to witness and spread the gospel. That is not the way it should be. What glory is there in His name if we cannot tell of the source of our caring and gifts of love. I had been holding out on giving till I found an organization I could trust. One that my church trusted. I had hoped I could find a trustworthy Jewish sponsored charity that I could give to in hopes of softening world opinion. For now I will happily give what I am lead to give to the following. International Mission Board I personally want to see as many people that are fed also saved. May these missionaries plant many seeds in their hearts so they might receive the REAL GIFT.
  4. Hiya brother Keith: I am inspired by your strength during this transition. I am curious to know if you have been able to collect unemployment benefits. Louisiana is an "at will" state as well and I must say I don't like it. As I understand it you can only collect if you were fired or laid off. Under your circumstances I would think you were entitled to benefits. I too am I too am becoming disenfranchised with the company I work for as well. Well, not necessarily the company but my supervisor. It hasn't been long since I (informed) my supervisor that the way he was treating me COULD be considered discrimination. At the time he agreed. I had hoped in his acknowledgement that me might make an effort to be more understanding. Sadly nothing has changed. Its not completely his fault that I am unhappy. I understand now that I am jealous of one of my co-workers and so am critical of their performance. Still if cannot forget that this same co-worker takes advantage of my supervisors good nature and short sightedness. Two years I have had to watch and two years I have been able to stay my tongue. Being that I have been jealous of my co-worker I have scrutinized his every move and reported discrepancies accordingly. I look back on how I behaved and I am ashamed. I see what this job is doing to me and I don't like it. My work habits have gotten worse and I find myself giving my supervisor grief over it still. I like my Job (the work I do) but I cannot continue to lower my standards because others are getting over. The job market should be picking up soon and after I tune up my resume', God willing I will find a better Job. I know God will light the path for you and lead you to a brighter future. All glory to his name.
  5. The one thing he said to me for which I have no scriptural reference is this. " I forgive you and I love you " " follow me ". At that moment I felt a wave of peace and joy wash over me like a fathers hand on his sons head. A touch to remind you he is there and loves you.
  6. These words of his touched me the most. Martha fell at Jesus' feet crying over the loss of her brother. She did not see and thought still that he would not rise till the final days. So Jesus told her. John 11:25 Jesus said to her,
  7. Any book in the bible is good. Ephesians 4:19
  8. Welcome Helena. I am so glad you have come to join our family here at WB. I invite at least one person a week to join us here to discuss how we can bring Glory to God and how best to serve him. May you find your discussions here with us uplifting and edifying.
  9. After watching "Extreme Make-over Home Edition" tonight I was awed to see my roommate wipe a few tears from his cheeks. My room mate is not what I would consider warm hearted. After checking over ABC's web site trying to find a forum I could post in I ran into their mission statement. I was again stunned to see a large network/company being this open with something other than their wallets in mind.
  10. I hope other will share with us some of their favorite artists. I am always open to being awed by those gifted with glorious song.
  11. I think Coral Snakes view of Islam makes alot of sence. I am not saying its right but he made a few points I had not considered. May God have mercy on us all. Soon we will have our answers. We should never forget. 1 John 3:21
  12. Every Christian I know believes we are in the last days. I am not sure why but I something tells me this comming spring will be an eye opener. The Tsunami is just a tap on the shoulder. Luke 21:11
  13. A few weeks ago I bumped into this artist as I was channel surfing. She sang so beautifully I got chills. I hope you enjoy her as much as I do. Hayley Westenra sample
  14. 1. People who enjoy conflict and arguments. (I.E...Jerry Springer Fans) 2. People who think violence solves problems. (terrorists and dictators) 3. Persons who put their needs before those of others. (people who rush to be first to be served) 4. Those people who take pleasure in the death of ANYTHING! (bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites do not count) (hunting for sport is really a sore spot for me.) 5. People who flaunt their wealth. ( this to me is saying look how much better I am than you ) 6. Those who value intelligence over wisdom. (what good is knowledge without discipline?) I'm sure we all have lists longer than we posted. Only in Gods' grace can we find the strength to look passed these faults and find it within ourselves to forgive those who fault us. I hope those who paths I cross and those I meet wish they could be as patient and temperate as me. In this I hope that I can be a light for those who do not know how much they are loved. A light so bright they will have no choice but to ask about its source.

Just as with the Jews there are still some people who confuse who Joseph was to Jesus. I will remind you that Joseph was NOT the father of Jesus. Joseph took Mary to wife by the will of God, but only AFTER she was pregnant. For sake of formality let call Joseph his step-father. His father by marriage only but not his paternal father. The conception and birth of Jesus our lord and savior was a miracle and heralded a new beginning. Matthew 1:20 But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying,

The Menorah has significance for Christians too. Revelation 1:12
  17. Did anyone else notice that the picture accompanying this article? What does the image on the black t-shirt look like?
  18. Thats intreguing. I always thought the region was more in Syria. Though they are close its farther east than I was thinking. I too think the verse in the Koran was apropriate. So are we to believe that Mohammed really was a prophet?
  19. Amen! Amen! and Amen! Truly inspiring. I am so happy for your Grandfather. God is truly amazing.
  20. I hear Ya Jacqueline. I am in a similar situation at work. I am not persecuted or singled out. I do however see favoritism every day. This person who recieves the favoritism also seems to push the supervisors limits and appears uncaring about what the supervisor thinks. I have spoken to my co-worker about his attitude and work habbits. He has gotten away with so much as it is that when I mention it to him now his has little fear that his job is jeopardised by such poor behavior. My boss is a kind and forgiving fellow and I hate to see his kindness abused so blatently. I cannot personally sit around much longer and watch my boss willingly get run over by someone under his charge. I am tempted to move and and find something better. But as far as your situation. Your bosses are also the owners. The Journal sounds like a great idea. I would continue to do as you have but take notes. I guess if one of them ask you what you are writing just tell them you would hate to come in on a day off.
  21. I will simply say that I only wish I could sit with Jesus among his apostles. Any gathering that even resembled such a discussion would be very pleasing. As I understand, Jesus' apostles were not scholars. I discussion among them had to have been very honest and inquisitive. When they had come to a conclusion on the topic, Jesus would help them answer the question they sought the answer for. Simple yet beautiful.
  22. While reading the posts here I had an idea. What if you could find someone to read the Bible TO every day? There would have to be someone who would want to hear you read it. Perhaps a neighbor, or someone at a retirement community, maybe someone at a hospital or even your own little brother or sister. I heard it said recently that we are lead to minister that which we need to learn the most. Follow your own heart and when you close your eyes and pray you will know what way is best for you by Gods' will.
