  1. I mean, look at this: Gal 5:17 For what our human nature wants is opposed to what the Spirit wants, and what the Spirit wants is opposed to what our human nature wants. These two are enemies, and this means that you cannot do what you want to do. So, in the " context of the word lust in your question, do you see this verse as applicable ? no, Not really... Well, i might be wrong...

  3. What do you mean lust in the spirit? In other words, to lust " after the things of the Spirit ". Which is taking the same word, but applying it in opposition to lusting " after things of the flesh " . the spirit lust against/after the flesh is like saying the spirit is always at war with the flesh... i don't think it applies to this thread..
  4. then I definitely lust over my wife... Try reading the Song of Solomon and tell me that it's not OK to do so. Endeavor to check my reference... that's my context of usage..
  5. my context of usage is in the reference given, please check it..

  8. 1Th 4:1 Finally, our friends, you learned from us how you should live in order to please God. This is, of course, the way you have been living. And now we beg and urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to do even more. 1Th 4:2 For you know the instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. 1Th 4:3 God wants you to be holy and completely free from sexual immorality. 1Th 4:4 Each of you should know how to live with your wife in a holy and honorable way, 1Th 4:5 not with a lustful desire, like the heathen who do not know God. Emphasis mine...
  9. I don't think he was talking about fornication, can fornication be committed with your own wife..?
  10. I was asked the question, and i could not give an answer... I'll appreciate your opinions... Can a married man lust after his own wife? - 1 Thessalonians 4: 1-5 thank you in advance

  13. It will be nice to tell us a few things after your research...
  14. I don't know your intention for asking that question, it seems a bit off focus.. but to answer, i was only sighting an example... the point is, i believe it is possible to respect someone and not trust them...
  15. I think the answer to that question would be yes... I respect my dad because the bible commands me to honor him in the Lord, and in that honor respect is tightly packed with it... and i respect him secondly because age is not just a number, it is also experience... and because through him i came into being... But i do not trust him to make the right decision for himself or for me.. either because he's old.. or maybe that's just the way he has always been.. or maybe because i'm just more educated... Either way i think it is possible to respect someone and not trust them...
  16. The statement is what i would call ambiguous (open to more than one interpretation; having a double meaning.) yes, respect can be earned.. yet sometimes, you either respect someone or you don't... And there are usually levels of respect... lol... Like trust, i would naturally trust everyone not to slap me in the face at the bus station, but i wouldn't trust them to choose to save me when it comes to making a choice between themselves and me... To me, the same applies to respect... i respect everyone enough, yet... i respect some specially who have earned that special level respect... And in my opinion, Respect and Trust really work together..
  17. So I assume that these are people who already know you that you both are talking about. Know you go to church/ are a christian. What about those who don't know that? As I said in my OP, how can somebody connect it to that without knowing why you are exhibiting that salt and light. I believe in living the life, yet i believe in saying it...
  18. “We want compensation for the plagues that were inflicted upon [us] as a result of the curses that the Jews’ ancient forefathers [cast] upon our ancient forefathers, who did not deserve to pay for the mistake that Egypt’s ruler at the time, Pharaoh, committed,” said columnist Ahmad al-Gamal, in a column in the Egyptian daily Al-Yawm Al-Sabi. LOL http://www.jewsnews.co.il/2014/03/28/egyptian-wants-to-sue-israel-over-biblical-plagues/ This made it more funny...
  19. You witness by: 1. Experiencing something... and 2. Telling others about it
  20. I don't believe there is any internal evidence in Genesis for this hypothesis. The traditional (and correct) view of Genesis is that it is the first book of Moses, with Moses being the writer and God being the Author. Neither Moses nor anyone else could have described what occurred during creation, and there is nothing to even suggest that Adam had a hand in this book. It is pertinent to note that among the men of faith mentioned in Hebrews 11, ADAM IS MISSING, but Abel his son leads the way. We are not really told what happened to Adam other than the fact that he had a son called Seth, and Adam lived 930 years (Gen 5:1-5). I totally agree with you Ezra... I was wondering where he got that idea from...
  21. yes, i believe discernment is needed... and when in doubt, pray and consult the bible as he will not say anything contrary to his word...
