  1. Phasing out??? My hair is red blonde...( and sometimes orange streaks ) and there is enough of it to make wigs for about five others. It's not phasing out..it's a beacon..seen for miles.
  2. Clusters of melanin ...as opposed to it being evenly spread throughout the body...IE..those with clusters will remain white in the sun..while the melanin pockets will go brown ( tan ) causing freckles . Those with even melanin will tan evenly. ( lucky people ). Nothing very spiritual about it.
  3. Perhaps it could help with animal communication..Then I could tell my horse, he doesn't have to prance up the road looking at every thing he's seen a dozen times before, as though it's going to jump out and bite him.
  4. Do you understand this scripture? Romans 2:9-16 (New American Standard Bible) There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God. For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law; for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus. Well..I read the scripture ..but am not sure what you are trying to say through it..Explanation?
  5. How would you explain all the different people groups, around the world, who until recent times never heard the gospel.. The millions who live and die never having heard about the saviour?
  6. I think yes..but then I also believe Elvis is still alive and living on a desert island in the pacific. What?! Elvis is still alive and has cloned himself! He is all up and down the Vegas strip everyday singing on the sidewalks, marrying people! Just couldn't resist! Well...In the UK he is chinese and sings in the local chinese takeaway.

  8. You know WAY more than me, Yomo. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
  9. If you read your Bible it says to guard your mind... Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" 2 Corinthians 10:5, KJV Proverbs 4:23Above everything guard your mind*, Because from it flows your life. Guard Your Mind Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
  10. I doubt whether Avatar, which is a film based on the worship of nature, will be half way as popular as Harry Potter, which is the worship of wizardry. A lot of Christians don't worry too much about the content of the films they watch, because they would rather have a couple of hours escapism, so why get worked up about what the producer is into?
  11. I think your post is way over the top as a reply to what was said to you..... Perhaps the Lord has spoken to you..you are certainly full of enthusiasm, and your video on you tube is excellent, but at the moment you come across like a runaway horse with the bit between it's teeth, and no matter how much the rider tries to steer it, it's just going to go galloping on until it runs out of steam. The mightier the Man of God, the less need he has to proclaim it or talk about the mighty and wonderful things the Lord is going to do through him. If what you are trying to do is of the Lord, you won't need to advertise, people will seek you out. You don't need to batter people over the head with a piece of 4 by 2 in order to get their attention...God speaks to each Christian individually and is more than capable of laying His desires on their hearts. I think the fact that you speak about ' Your ministry ' is a bit of a warning sign, because you will probably come to realise at some stage that YOU cannot ever hope to achieve what you believe the Lord has laid upon your heart, but when you come to the realisation that YOU are nothing and can do nothing, then the Lord will be able to show you that HE can. Without re reading your previous post's, I seem to recall you saying that no one knows who you are in the place you have recently moved to. I don't know if this is relevant but if you start reaching out to your neighbours and the people in your locality...in practical help.. shopping for the old lady down the street....gardening...feeding the hungry....you will have people gravitate towards you..you won't have to go looking.
  12. Put a large sticking plaster on your thumb........buy some of that foul tasting liquid people use to help them stop biting their nails........ask all your friends and family to slap your hand every time they see your thumb in your mouth ( taking care they don't smack you in the mouth ) .....................or failing all else..buy a dummy..( pacifier ) they are all the rage in the UK among teenage girls, and considered quite cool
  13. Work in Progress, Yes ...I would agree with that to a certain extent......but only to a certain extent... I know there are many people, who have been set free from the grip of alcohol, by the grace of God. However, I know of no one, who having once been an alcoholic and truly been set free, would ever go dabbling back in the pond they nearly drowned in. Of the two people I was involved with on a personal level.....one died from alcohol poisoning, and the other left the church because the temptation to drink overcame her, to the point she went back to her old habits. I would suggest that the people you are talking about may have had some heavy drinking habits.....but find it hard to accept the notion of christians, who having been set free from a habit that wreaked utter devastation upon their families, would ever want to touch alcohol again. As Christians we are told to flee from temptation...and everyones temptation is different.. I would say that the thing that bound you as a non christian, is the thing you stay away from as a christian.... Jill
  14. Katie Alcohol will always be a stumbling block to those who have had problems in that area....Loook around your church.....if there are any there who have a history of alcohol abuse, then you have a potential stumbler, and we, as their brothers and sisters, need to be circumspect in our behaviour. Years ago, I became very involved with a couple of people who were alcoholics...Seeing the living hell they put themselves and their familys through ....and seeing the blase way the church they attended, treated the matter of alcoholism, right down to offering them alchohol at communion, made me realise my responsibility before God towards them. For me that meant not drinking alcohol, although I would never impose that belief on anyone else...I don't think there is anything wrong with a Christian having an alcoholic drink, and believe it is entirely up to ones own conscience. I have also found that non christian friends accept my nill alcohol stance, much more willingly than some of my christian friends do....One couple spring to mind , who every time we meet up say " Are you STILL not drinking" as though I will suddenly see the error of my ways and return to normalcy. It would obviously make them feel better about their own drinking habits if I did.... Jill
  15. Super Jew, I don't think it is a question of being overzealous on certain causes, and apathetic on the general calling of all believers., but rather the fact that it is easier to get involved in prayer and petition for people when you can put a face to a name , and you know something of their personal circumstances. Of course every believer shoud do what they can for those who are in distress ...the starving ...aids victims..etc..and I am sure many do....however.. " One person cannopt save the World...but you can save One person.from the World" Jill
  16. Unbeaten, When a child is brought up in the sort of abusive , loveless home that you describe, it can cause unbelievable devastation.... to be loved and afirmed is a basic need in every human heart, and when that is missing, it reflects in the self worth that person feels, long after they have grown up. AS well as our own children, my husband and I have a young person, who by birth is nothing to do with us...but spiritually, emotionally and practically, this person is our own child, and loved as deeply and dearly as our birth and adopted children are. Their story could be yours, their circumstances almost identical, their struggle so similar.......yet God , in his great love for this person, gave us the privilege of welcoming him into our family. His struggles have been , and still are , enormous. He continually contends with the demons of his past, and there have been many times when I have felt as though my heart would break over him. Yet through it all , I have felt the tremendous love of the Father for one of his lost, hurting children. The counsel that Sue has given you is good, and I would agree with Dad Ernie that she sounds like one who can help mentor you through this time. The Word of God can break down strongholds in our lives, and prayer is an effective weapon against the enemy's grip on our life. I will certainly pray for you...that you will know the peace of God, the love of God and the restoration you so badly need. Many blessings...Jill
  17. I believe Terri was left for six days without food or water the last time the tube was removed. This is now day three......the damage to her body must be enormous... We are praying that the intervention of President Bush will sway the hand of the Judge ...and justice will prevail in the travesty that has happened in Terris life so far. Jill
  18. Er ..SA... I think your post should have been addressed to horizeneast.......not to me. horizeneast wrote all the things you have addressed...I simply found them amusing... I was always told my sense of humour would get me into trouble one day.. Jill

    young creation?

SA, Thanks for your reply.. So would you say in your opinion.. there are "no unbridgeable gaps" in the fossil record? Well..if I might put my tongue into my cheek again... perhaps I may hypothesize that life could have started in two different ways... Your far distant ancestor belonged to the Chimp family...and mine was created. It would certainly give new meaning to the class system, so beloved in good old England...
  20. horizeneast, Reading through your post , I really thought I had wandered onto the humour site by mistake.........it certainly made me smile.....intentional or not.... Jill

    young creation?

SA Sorry I didn't make myself clearer. You still haven't answered the question I wanted an answer to, so I will write it out in greater depth and in the process hopefully make myself clearer. My understanding from what I have read is as follows....... The Phylogenetic Tree is meant to show visually how simple life evolved, ( according to Darwins theory of natural selection) into the plants, animals and humans we have today. So, for instance the variations we see today in horses could add up over time, allowing some of these horses to change to the point that they are no longer horses. The Cladogram is a sidestep from this. Because Scientists realised there were unbridgable gaps in the fossil record, the idea of gradual transition from one species to another had to be reconsidered.....So.......Where as fossils were placed in a line of supposed sequential evolution, using the Phylogenetic Tree, they are now presented as Cladogram charts, as relationship to each other. Is this correct? Again my understanding is as follows..... Acceptance of Cladogram charts implies rejection of Darwins theoryof natural selection, because they do not show gradual change as an evolutionary mechanism. Is this correct in your opinion? It is so encouraging to know that even the Scientists themselves have to admit that there are parts of their theory that are largely hypothetical... Of course they could always try asking a Creationist... they will soon give them the correct answer! You are absolutely spot on....Cladogram and Phylogenetic are not of themselves layman's terms......but they are the correct names and as such I used them. There is a big difference between using the correct name for something , and a convoluted explanation...so I would ask again, that you please keep your reply to a level that matches my understanding. Jill

    young creation?

SA, Would you please tell me, why the Phylogenetic Tree was replaced with the Cladogram. I know what I have read, which is , the replacement took place because Scientists realised there were unbridgeable gaps in the Fossil record, ie.....Fossils used to be placed in a line of supposed sequential evolution using the Phylogenetic tree, but is now presented in Cladogram charts as relationship to each other. If this is anything like your understanding of it, then how do the Cladogram charts fit in with Darwins theory of Natural selection, because surely acceptance of the Cladogram, implies rejection of Darwins theory. Going back to the Phylogenetic tree, could you also explain how evolution brought about the first living cells.....other than billions of years ...atomic collisions.. etc. I know that Proteins and Nucleic Acid could have evolved first....but where is the proof that they could have evolved from Non life? I would appreciate it if you would not blind me with Science, but reply in simple laymens terms that I can get my head around..... Jill

    young creation?

SA OK, In the original post, in place of the word "Verified," put the word "Established," then italicize the word "If" and you will soon grasp my meaning. That may well be true Jill. Evolution is a very wasteful, and some would say cruel process. It involves at its heart a lack of resources, death, and a whole lot of trial and error. In fact, it is a process of continual trial and error. Ah, but you are getting muddled up with your own questions. If you plough your way back, you will realise that you and I were not talking about evolution... but the Lord being the Potter. Therefore cleverness versus care does not allude to evolution, but to the Creator. Jill
