  1. The non believers are staying away from this question like the plague. They know that this Jewish man (My God) supernaturally transformed this world 2000 years ago. I honestly think they know who He is and is just rejecting Him.
  2. Our education system is making kids dumb. American Education Fails Because It Isn't Education By Tom DeWeese The debate over public education grows more heated. Regularly, reports are released showing that the academic abilities of American students continue to fall when compared to those in other countries. Twenty years ago the U.S. ranked first in the world in the number of young adults who had high school diplomas and college degrees. Today we rank ninth and seventh, respectively, among industrialized nations. Compared to Europe and Asia, 15-year-olds in the United States are below average in applying math skills to real-life tasks. The United States ranks 18 out of 24 industrialized nations in terms of relative effectiveness of its education system. Knowledge in history, geography, grammar, civics and literature are all in decline in terms of academic understanding and achievement. To solve the crisis, politicians, community leaders, and the education community all preach the same mantra. Students fail, they tell us, because "expectations haven't been set high enough." We need more "accountability," they say. And every education leader and nearly every politician presents the same "solution" to the education crisis: more money, better pay for teachers, and smaller classroom numbers so the children get enough attention from the teachers. Consequently, there are two specific categories in which the U.S. excels, compared to the rest of the world. First, the U.S. ranks second in the world in the amount we spend per student per year on education = $11,152. The U.S. is also a leader in having some of the smallest classroom numbers in the world. Yet the slide continues. American students grow more illiterate by the year. How can that be? We're doing everything the "experts" tell us to do. We're spending the money. We're building more and more schools. We're raising teacher's pay. More... http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldview-times/article.php?articleid=2816

  9. Who is Jesus? Isn't it amazing how one Jewish man transformed the world for generation to come? Have you wondered how this one man transformed the world? Something truly amazing must have happened during that time to get them to believe in Jesus and have the Way spread like wildfire. Was the resurrection the talk of the town? Was it the eyewitness accounts for all the miracles being performed? Maybe it was just supernatural work of God. What say you? A question for the non believer.
  10. Hi Dave....could you please demonstrate tithing in action in the Body of Messiah....or quote some of Paul's teaching on its relevance for Believers today....or just anything that is in context, as I struggle with what is often taught, and am mostly in agreement with the new kid on the block....welcome to Worthy by the way LW. Hi brother, I believe the New Testament Tithe is everything. It's all of you in an act of devotion. Everything you do, everything you are, everything you own, everywhere you're at in that moment. Please note that I highlighted Jacob's Vow. Jacob made a vow in an act of worship. He was struck by the numinous awe. He thought how awesome is this and he dedicated a tenth of everything that came into his life to the Lord, it wasn't just produce. God get's the very best of the firstfruits. We need only look to the sad story of Cain and Able to see the mistake in that. I am not trying to lay a heavy yoke on any man either. Each should do as he is convicted and as he has revelation. The Lord has said this; Mal 1:8 And if you offer the blind for a sacrifice, is it not evil? and if you offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto your governor; will he be pleased with you, or accept your person? says the LORD of hosts. The Lord has also said this; Lu 11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. I vehemently disagree with our new brother here. He is trying to lay the conviction of his own heart upon others. Yet; Eph 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. and; Ro 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. Giving is a Grace. peace, Dave I have read everything you posted in reply to my question Dave, and you know I appreciate and value what you say , but in this instance I don't believe you have sufficiently answered the question, or countered what Luftwaffle has said adequately, as he echoes what I have posted on Worthy several times, but had no real come-backs. If you look at the heart of what he is trying to get across, it is not that he doesn't believe in giving and supporting the local Body, and helping in whatever way possible, financial or other, to give where there is a need....what he is labouring to demonstrate is that using the terminology of tithes and offerings is confusing, and doctrinally throws up more questions than answers, and that many people who try and insist on keeping these terms and a certain format, struggle to adequately support it from Scripture, having to focus on mostly Old Covenant passages taken out of context....but nobody challenges them. On top of that, I was trying to establish how far one can use the format of 'tithes and offerings' to invest in...which is what is also preached in many congregations...do I give financially to gain financially...in other words giving is like the stock exchange, except you cannot lose if you give with a cheerful heart and in faith....and I have often heard testimonies about G-ds supply, funnily enough, quite often from those I know have a comfortable home, car and decent salary (including wealthy Pastors)...whereas I have known many faithful Believers that are actually in real need...give in faith, beyond what they could, and get into further financial difficulties. What I am looking for is clarity, and proper examples in operation from Paul or others.....I have seached for years, and argued and read up on it, but have found nothing, except that we should all look to be using our finances to further the KoG, and that would include supporting our brethren in ministry and sowing into various projects, but especiallly reaching out to the poor and evangelism...not under coercion, or compunction, but under conviction and in faith, not looking for a financial return, but treasures laid up in Heaven. So as far as things stand (and I am a very teachable fellow) I whole-hearted endorse what Luftwaffle has proposed, (and I hope I haven't misrepresented you bro)...as I have found the current strands on tithes and offerings wholly inadequate, and biblically unsound...and in many respects slightly dishonest. The game is well and truly afoot....over to you. Boltz and Luft, Everything you guys are saying is right on. I tithe because it

  16. Just because we now live under the period of Grace does not mean the Lord stopped being righteous and just. Scripture says we should treat hardships and discipline. I can see how even my chronic illness has done a work of purification in my life. And looking through history, there is reason to believe the Lord still disciplines nations. Jesus intercedes for his children and turns what Adam did to good. God is not the author of our problems. Romans 8: 27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. The Word and backsliding disciplines. Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life, 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, Jeremiah 2:19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

  19. Ok. I'll give a real answer now. I think it was a gradual realization as I got older. Also, I think I figured out the tooth fairy wasn't real a bit before and that made me a bit more skeptical. I think I was about 9 or 10 when I fully realized that Santa wasn't real. I don't remember being upset at all. Same here.
  20. That is not true. Everything that happens, happens with God's permission for the express reason that he is sovereign. Nothing good or bad happens that God did not permit and in some cases, cause to occur. That God allows bad things does not mean that He is controlling EVERYTHING. It think you are trying to address the sovereignty/free will debate, but you are misstating what the sovereignty/determinist view holds to. God has given us the freedom to choose His will doesn't automatically come to pass. He has a plan for us. He seeks to reveal that plan to us and urge us in that direction, but we choose. He doesn't make our choices for us. It is assumed that since God is paramount or supreme that nothing can happen without His approval. That is not what the Scriptures shows. Ex. 2 Peter 3:9 Tell that to Chinese Christians who are tortured for serving God and doing His will. If God did not allow them, they would not happen. That does not mean that He is responsible for them. In most cases, these are the truth. Too much is blamed on the devil. Satan is not omnipresent. He cannot be in more than one place at a time. That is not true. God is known in Scripture for sending plagues and natural disasters. He is known for bringing down judgment and one would have to ignore the pain and suffering that God is going to inflict on the world in the book of Revelation to hold to what you are saying. If your child or grandchild was sick and could potentially die from the illness, would you put him/her through a painful treatment if you knew the treatment would save his/her life?? This does not mean that everything good that we get is from God. That passage can be taken to extremes and we end up getting an unbalanced view of how God works in our lives. The best things in our lives are gifts from God, even life it's self is His gift. God, however, does chasten and discipline us and it is painful. Also, God does allow bad things to happen to us for reasons we don't understand. Didn't God interact differently with the people of the Old Testament vs the New? I do not think God is sending plagues today. As far as the Chinese it's satan. Like I said, its satan, our bad choices, and a fallen world, is the reason bad things happen to us. When we take our eyes of God we will backslide and allow satan a inroad to our lives.
  21. I stand corrected. God does allow what
  22. But how do you know without believing in advance? What you are saying is: I believe because I believe. I didn't always believe the bible. When I was born again 1 ½ years ago, creation and the bible's authenticity was a major stumbling block. I started researching these questions on the internet. As I was reading scriptures, the truths set me free in many areas of my life. The prophesies, is what solidified my belief that the bible is the inspired word of God. The Holy Spirit helped me understand and brought the word to life. That's something you can't put in a test tube. It's always going to be just words to you. You and all the other anti Christ's want to blaspheme, God and His word. You all have no desire to hear the truth. I bet you didn't even go to the link I posted. Why are you guys here? It's a sad life you have, to come to a Christian forum just to pick fights with Christians about their beliefs. Go to an atheist forum and talk about the missing link or something and leave us with God. Time to shake off the dust. Matthew 10:14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. John 8:43-45 (New King James Version) 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me Added a verse I seen on another thread. What Is It About Unbelievers That Causes Them To Mock Jesus? But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death. Proverbs 8:36 thanks Joe
