  1. This is a video of Egypt's new President claiming that their new capital will be Jerusalem. *** Videos are to be placed in the Video Forums only *** For you video impaired, here are some of the things that he said: Quote: Wants millions of martyrs to march to Jerusalem brandish your weapons, say your prayers banish the sleep from the eyes of the Jews come on you lovers of martyrdom we say it loud and clear, yes, Jerusalem is our goal we shall pray in Jerusalem or else we shall die as martyrs
  2. How we dress does affect our witness to the world. I can certainly say that when I wear a suit at work, I'm treated differently than when I dress casually. I never wear a suit to church and believe it actually hampers my witness. As a Christian, I want to make people feel comfortable. I want them to relate with me one on one. That's not easy, when they see you as superior to them. It also applies to being underdressed or having an unkept appearance. Who's interested in the testimony of a trashy bum. Ladies should dress modestly. Men struggle in this area, and as sisters in Christ, you shouldn't tempt us to have unclean thoughts. How can you expect to lead me to Christ with that low cut dress? Just dress for the occasion.

    Year 2012

I have to point out that those two planets, and all the others( including Earth), are bombarded by various bodies every day. This means nothing unusual...... It's good to approach this with skepticism, but don't dismiss it out of hand. Shoemaker-Levy 9 made the headlines for weeks before and after the impact. The other two impacts were news worthy enough to be published in astronomy magazines. They were hardly your every day meteorite. So... what should we as Christians take away from these events? We are expected to be watching for Jesus's return. How many "coincidences" should we ignore before the day of the L-rd arrives?
  4. And another thing. Although this book is focusing on America, the events described impacted the whole world. I believe we should view them as signs of His imminent return.

I forgot to mention that on the 14 year anniversary of Shoemaker-Levy 9, another "blemish" appeared on Jupiter And coincidentally on the SAME DAY a " blemish" was discovered on Venus. The blemishes were thought to be caused by comets or meteors. Would all of this be construed as "Signs in the heavens"?

Well the post was meant to be "tongue in cheek", but there is some actual evidence that points to "an event" in 2015. In my opinion more than the evidence for 2012. 1994 9th of AV - 21 fragments of Shoemaker-Levy 9 strike Jupiter Seven years later 9/11 (read The Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn and Isaiah 9:10) Seven years later - Economic crash of 2008 (The Harbinger) Seven years later - 2015 (7+7+7=21 comet fragments ) (another Shemita - The Harbinger) (Mark Biltz'es discovery of the solar and lunar eclipses falling on Feast days) 2015 looks more interesting than 2012.

2012???? Pfftt... We all know it's going to happen in 2015.
  9. When I pray, I typically start by praising Jesus, thank Him for His sacrifice, and ask for forgiveness. Once I repent, I visualize approaching G-d's throne, and then I praise G-d, the Creator. I then present my petitions to Him. Although I believe Jesus and G-d are one and the same, I still treat Them differently. I don't believe in the Trinity. Revelation says G-d has a "seven fold spirit". I believe Jesus, G-d the Creator, and the Holy Spirit are all different facets of that seven fold spirit.

    Acts 9:5

That reminds me of my favorite Johnny Cash song. "When the Man comes around"...
  11. Interesting.... Which church do you attend. I'm wondering why you celebrate Pentecost the week after Pentecost. A simple Google search indicates its May 27th. Or if you prefer hebcal.com indicates Shavuot is today.
  12. We're between churches, and are having a hard time finding that church G-d intends for us. Being a young family we were attracted to a small charismatic church this morning. I was initially very excited, because from browsing their website I felt we would fit in. They were having a worship and prayer service, because their pastor was out of town. Much to my surprise, NOBODY mentioned that today was Pentecost Sunday. Given that it was a worship/prayer service, I thought someone would have given thanks to G-d for sending his Holy Spirit. Especially since the congregation was given the opportunity to pray. As a first time visitor, I ended up standing up and giving thanks to G-d, for one of His most precious of gifts. Was I out of line? Did your church acknowledge that it was Pentecost? I just can't imagine not recognizing G-d's blessings.
  13. Hi Mark, Good question. The Jews have celebrated Pentecost as Shavuot, for thousands of years. Its the celebration of Moses receiving the Law on Mount Sinai. The deciples were observing Shavuot according to Jesus Christ's instruction, when the Holy Spirit descended on them as tongues of fire. When Moses descended Mount Sinai, he found the Israelites worshipping the golden calf. 3000 men were killed that day. When the Holy Spirit descended on Pentecost 3000 people believed, and were saved. This is a wonderful illustration of how the letter of the law brings death, but the spirit of the Law brings eternal life.
  14. I just finished the book 5 minutes ago. I was initially very skeptical of using one verse to illustrate G-d removing his protection from America, but all of the historical facts presented in the book give it some credibility. I would certainly recommend it to someone considering reading it. I found myself going back to the Bible or Googling the phrase "We will rebuild". Even reading the footnotes (which I rarely do) Its certainly thought provoking.
  15. I updated the first post in this thread with a link to a wonderful article that explains the different types of offerings.
  16. Good point. Keeping the Torah is definitely NOT a means of salvation. This thread isn't intended to debate the value of observing the Torah. Since I don't attend a Messianic church, I want to know which Laws are actually observed by a Messianic Jew/gentile.
  17. Leviticus outlines several different offerings to the L-rd. I was wondering how these offering apply to us today, and should we observe them. If so, how should we observe them. Here are a few: Burnt Offering Sin Offering Fellowship/Peace Offering Wave Offering Each of these offerings are performed during Shavuot, which would indicate that they are intended for different purposes. The easy one, is Sin Offering. We know that Jesus fulfilled that offering. But what about the rest? I'm editing my original post to provide the reader with answers to these questions.... I think the following link provides an excellent explanation of the different types of offerings, their original intent, and Jesus Christs fulfillment of their purpose. The Burnt-Offering, the Sin- and Trespass-Offering, and the Peace-Offering The text is too long to include in this post, but as an overview: Burnt Offering = Signifies our dedication to the L-rd Sin Offering = Temporarily covers the sin of the person or nation. Tresspass Offering = A sin offering for sins of ommision, or to cleans a nazerite who unintentionally defiled himself by coming in contact with someone who met an untimely death. Fellowship/Peace Offering = A method to come into fellowship with the L-rd. Wave Offering = Were presented to G-d as His, and returned by G-d to the preists As you can see, all of these offerings were fulfilled by Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, but I highly recommed reading the above link to learn the details of each type of offering.
  18. I'm struggling with Messianic Gentilism, and was wondering if someone had some insight. First, I believe that all of the Torah is relevant to the every Christian, but I'm not sure which of these we should observe as Gentile Christians. I believe this is a major sticking point with your average Christian. They see a long list of Do's and Dont's and think it's impossible to meet these expectations, so "why even try". They give up before examining this question, or give a trite answer that "we're no longer under the Law". I think this is a major reason Messianic Churches are so small, and if we can address it, hopefully grow the Messianic movement. So how do you keep the Torah as a Messianic Gentile?
  19. WOW! I love these articles that you post Mizzdy.
  20. VERY interesting .... What we're see here is two different definitions. Honestly, I'm more confused than ever.
  21. Although I feel the same as you regarding keeping things to myself, I can not help but wonder... Is discerning spirits a "personal" gift, or is it intended for the church, in order to point out apostate teaching? I'm not aware of any gift of the spirit that was meant for personal use.
  22. I was laughing at my not noticing the tread. I believe it's very relevant to this topic. Since there's very good information in the other thread, this thread should be deleted.
  23. HA! I just ran across the "Judge not lest ye be judged" thread in Doctrinal Questions. I would still be interested in what your views are of the gift of discerning spirits.
  24. Having just read a heated topic where believers were accusing each other of being judgemental, I would like to ask the reader if they believe in the gift of discerning spirits. If you do believe in discerning spirits, how is that different from judging someone or something? If you have the gift of discerning spirits, are you not obligated by that gift to inform others what is a true spirit and what is a false spirit? Lets try to keep this thread uplifting and informative, so that we can grow in Christ. If you feel the need to mention names, do it in the other thread. (That way this thread wont be closed down)
  25. Our small group has been studying James, and we've been struggling with this very issue. One of our members brought up a good point. We're in agreement that observing the law does not provide for salvation. He indicated that the question is not "should we be observing the Law"? The real question is "How do we get closer to God?" There was a recommendation of the book "Secrets of the Secret Place", which I haven't read, but sounds interesting. I believe that all sin separates us from God, and although it may be covered by the blood of Jesus, there are still consequences to our actions. I think that there are different levels of intimacy with God, and if we are living a sinful life, I don't believe that we can be truely intimate with the Lord. And because of that, I think we should try to observe the Law as much as possible. The levels of intimacy can be illustrated through the mention of different crowns being awarded to the believer. I also believe that "riches in Heaven" illustrates intimacy with the Lord, because what else would I want, but to be closer to my God.
