I would like some insight on this... Before time God knew that his Son would be nailed to a cross for the sins of all mankind. Given that the Lord knows all, why do you think Pontius Pilates wife was given a dream about having nothing to do with Jesus? I am not questioning the Lords authority or ways, I'm just curious to get some opinions on this way. Of course, one way or the other we know Christ would have ended up on the Cross (Thank you Jesus!) Any thoughts?

Hello Everyone, I feel the need to share some good news with each of you. Lately, I have been down in the dumps. I started a second job and haven't been able to get myself to church or in the Word like I should...I was feeling terrible, I couldn't tell what was going on...I felt like God was so distant at the time. Speaking honestly, I had sometimes wondered...what if when I do...even after I was saved..What if I am one of those who don't go to Heaven... I can't explain what happened to me but after praying and praying on it...I feel so refreshed.. I have trusted Jesus to take me to Heaven...trusted him to keep his promise and forgive of my sins...I had doubted but I no longer doubt... He is not my buddy as the kids say...He is my Lord... Ps This thread may belong somewhere else, if so...sorry!

First question is no, thats it not the same Judas. The second question is the Judas who betrayed Christ. Matthew mentions Judas hanging himself but I suppose that does not mean he could not fall from that hanging headlong... Thank you!

Hello brothers and sisters, I was wondering if any of you could offer some insight for me. I just began to read through Acts and have some questions... 1. 12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. This is not the same Judas right? I mean how could it be? Probably a very easy question but I cant seem to put a finger on the answer... 2. 16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. Who is this man? Thanks for any insight!

Hello Everyone, So I am reading my Bible on my Iphone and currently I am reading the book of John. Right as I am finished with Chapter 7 verse 52, My Bible app has this note that states: [The earliest manuscripts do not include 7:53-8:11] What's everyones opinion on this? What gives?

Out of the mouths of babes... I would say that based on scripture, God does hate the devil... This is the same devil that tempted his Son...and the same devil that will attempt to wage a war against His Kingdom... It speaks to God's love that He still allows the devil in his presence...

I tithe a different way...I happen to attend a church that is not struggling in any way financially. So I support a child in Rwanda, I pay for him each month to be able to go to a Christian school where he is fed and given water and learns about God and His love.

I would like to thank everyone for their thoughtful comments. Neb, I think we all have that problem at times, knowing if it is God speaking to us or is it just our wild and crazy imagination. I coming to realize when it is my own imagination talking (and at times that's scarey ), it is when I'm spending time thinking about the subject. When the Holy Spirit is talking to us, it just comes right out of the blue and your like "whoa, where did that come from". That is what is so cool about when God is communicating with us, most of the time it is when we least expect it. Isn't God AWESOME? Amen to that!

When is enough - enough? "Citizen - your paperz, pleez. CITIZEN!" Blessings! -Ed This is what terrorism is all about...... it's not about killing people, it's about making the other side so afraid that they make their lives miserable all the time worring about another terrorist attack...... and guess what...... they won. But in my mind, who's the terrorist...... Islam, or globalists....... or both. Which side is using which side...... American Airlines is starting a trusted traveler program that will allow people to go through expedited security checks if they are willing to release more personal information about themselves....and so it begins... http://www.star-telegram.com/2011/07/14/3222658/trusted-traveler-program-coming.html

Scientists made "discoveries" that the writers of the Bible knew of during the time of their writings. A great example is the Earth being round and the fact that the universe continues to expand in all directions. Both are addressed in Isaiah 40:21-22. 21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Hello All, I am sure this has been discussed in the past but I wanted to know what everyone's take is... I know a lot of people refer to Leviticus 19:28: Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD. I have heard many different opinions on this subject and this verse in particular. In regards to the scripture, I have heard that God wanted to separate His people from the pagan people and did not want them to get involved with their practices...ie...cutting their bodies in memory of their dead.. thoughts?

Should parents lose custody of super obese kids?
OldKingCole replied to MorningGlory's topic in General Discussion
This is a tough topic! Coming from a former hefty kid, I can def. say I do not blame my mother for my former weight. My mom was a single parent and couldn't afford to but the healthiest meals at times. Healthy food is outrageously priced! As a child I was more concerned with video games then going outside and being active, so as much as my mother encouraged outside activity, I hated it!!! So losing custody of an obese child...I would have to say no.... I know a lot of people who call child obesity child abuse...I would say that's a strong term for the situation. However, there are situations where I feel that term in necessary...Parents smoking around their children, etc.
