  1. Yes, there are a few, I'm not one. I agree with your observations that few preach on the peril man will face by turning his back to Jesus. Some of the Churches I have been in may even turn Jesus away, because the Blood and the mud would stain their carpets. IMHO~~~Dennis Sadly many churches you go to don't even have God in them. You can feel if God's sprit is in the church when you walk in the door.
  2. What denomination was the church you attended as a child? I was raised in a country Free Will Baptist and I still atend that church today.Due to the great falling away, we only have 19 members now.
  3. Why do ministers fail to preach on hell? I know our God is a merciful God of love, but he also is a God of wrath. He gave us free will to accept or reject Christ, but why do preachers preach on the peril of making the wrong choices? Why do they not preach on the things that are happening today that is being fulfilled? Are they so afraid of losing members, that the message is being sugar coated and love is all that is being taught? If Paul walked into the church and started preaching... would he be allowed to finish his message or would he be escorted oout the door? As a child, I remember listening to our minister as he preached hell and damnation and I was terrified. That stayed with me and today I cannot imagine anyone who would be so careless as to defy an awesome God that created the universe.
  4. Understood, believe. Unfortunately, thankful comes across as being more interested in exalting himself and his vision rather than Jesus . Thus the disagreement. Of course Satan just love those people who say negative words about people who share what God has for them to share. Satan will use anything to keep people from sharing about God, in hopes that it will keep the timid people, and those who care about what other think of them quite. Remember if you deliberately sin you are of the devil. (1 John 3:8) “He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work” Thankful, Be very careful here. Jesus said in Matthew 18:6 that anyone who offend or becomes a stumbling block to children(new Christians) it would be better if he had a millstone around his neck and throw into the sea; and in verse 7 he said woe to that man by whom the offence cometh. Jesus also said in the wilderness Thou shall not temp the Lord, thy God. You need to do some real praying and make sure it is God that is talking to you. You stand over a precipice and may fall in.
  5. Thankful, Before Christ, God needed prophets to get his word out to the people. They did not have the luxery of the Bible that told what God wanted us to know. He also gave us the future in his Word. He no longer needs prophets to spread his word, he has missionaries, internet, minsters all over the globe. Why has he suddenly chose you to give the future to the world. He already has with John.
  6. Thank you, walla299 for repling. I had my fill of Psychologist's and Psychiatrist's, beginning in the mid-70s, had no effect. Monarchy, You are special, a part of peculiar people. Remember Christ chose you to be a member of his family. Now you are a member of Abraham's family. Remember Christ's family rejected him and made comments against him as did his friends and people he had know all his life. It hurts when your family makes you feel invisible and that you aren't even in their presence. I have felt that also. I usually get out by myself and have my pity party, then ask God for strength and then I forgive and love them anyway. Without my Father to talk to and to tell all my hurts to, I don't think I could survive, but he is there and listens to me any time, even when I whine. Best of all is when I feel his peace flow into me and contentment takes the place of the hurt. I will pray for you.
  7. When God kicked Satan out of heaven, Satan developed a deep hatred for God and anything that was God's. When Christ died over 2000 years ago, he gave the devil free rein. he also gave us free will to choose or reject his Son. Today he and his one-time angels are working hard to take from God all they can by blocking some from being saved and temptimg others to turn their backs on Christ. In doing so, many people have become evil. For instance, Mothers killing their children; fathers raping their sons and daughters; the horror of the things happening to children in Africa; I could name many more, but you can read the news for yourself. God has already judged Satan and his minions. Revelations tells us that hell will be their home for eternity. Satan know this and that is why he is working so hard. If he is not bothering a Christian, then they need to have a good talk with Christ. He really doesn't have to work to keep sinners sinning, but to put doubt into a faithful's mind is harder work, but worth it if he can get the faithful to reject Christ.
  8. I believe our salvation with Christ is a personal one. That means me and him... not me, a priest, and Christ. And yes, I believe praying to an image is worshiping that imiage. God said "thou shalt have no gods before me." Anything else is not God's words and constitute a cult. Praying to a man made image is making it a god. I think Mary would be horrified and Peter would weep bitterly if he knew the Pope claimed to be the "Peter" of today. As for the saints... anyone who is a true believer is considered a saint and it doesn't take a committe voting to make us so. I think everyone has the right to believe what they want, but one day they will bow before the One who died for us and confess why the rejected his teachings.
  9. God's prophets never hid what God told them. What was the word you were to give and what community grew out of it? Did you obey Jesus? How do we know you are telling us words of Jesus and not Satan? Why did he give you the name of the antichrist when his word says the antichrist would be revealed during the tribulations? Do you believe we are living in the tribulations? If so what makes you think that?
  10. What is your problem? I am 66 years old and I will be glad to help you in any way I can. I don't claim to be a Solmom, but sometimes age and God does give some wisdom. I hope!
  11. I taught Special Education for several years and one day as I stood on hall duty, a girl came down the hall. She was crying. I placed my arm around her and took her to my room. She told me she was saved that week end and she had a burden on her heart for a boy at school and didn't know what to do. She was afraid of his reaction. I stepped way over the line and suggested she pray about it, then if she was still under conviction for the boy, she should talk to him. God would give her the words to say. I then went to my principal and told her what I had done. She said she didn't think the mother would mind that I had talked to her daughter. I was lucky, my principal was the daughter of a preacher, My super was a minister, my coordinator's husband was a minister and most of the teachers were Christians. Oh, Yes, when I talked to the mother, she hugged me and thanked me.
  12. G  Angel, The last ten years has tested my faith and for a while I thought my name was Job. My husband left me with two teenage sons we had adopted. One was autistic and didn't understand why his dad left. A truck ran though the wall of my house, my oldest son had a wreck, broke his back, my youngest (the one with autism) was sent to prison for vandalism. I held on by a hair until my cousin died of cancer and I lost it. I sunk deep in depression, until I fell on my knees and begged God to help me through this. He gave me peace. I put all my children in his hands and refused to worry about them. I am alone now, but I have God and he walks beside me holding my hands. many times he has held me in his arms while I cried, then he gave me sweet peace and contentment. As Paul says, we need to thank God for our problems because they bring us closer to him. Satan still camps on my porch, but I will not allow him in my house.
