Problem is, there is no way for you to earn it.

God's nature is such that He cannot tolerate sin. Atonement must be made for sin. The Mosaic law provided for an elaborate scheme of atonement but the purpose was to show how futile man's efforts on his own behalf were. The crucifixion of Jesus was the ultimate atonement for sin. "For by a single sacrifice, He has made pure those who are being made holy." Hebrews 10:14.

Does God have a sense of humor? Look at the duck-billed platypus. That's either a joke or a mistake and God doesn't goof.

I've always taken a highly skeptical approach to those who claim to have revelations from God. It is possible that God may choose to send a word through someone in our time but it is highly doubtful. The single biggest reason I tend to blow such people off is that presuming to speak for God tends to cheapen/trivialize what already has been revealed.

"I sincerely believe the sun will rise tomorrow" is vastly different from "God tells me that the sun will rise tomorrow". One is a conviction, the other is dissembling. I think that there is a gift of prophecy but that it is far rarer than some would have us believe. No matter how many times they invoke the Saviour's name.
