  1. There are at least two Biblical reasons for divorce – sexual immorality and abandonment (the non-Believer wants to leave). Sexual immorality Matt. 5:32 ESV But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. Matt. 19:9 ESV And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery. Abandonment 1 Cor. 7:15 ESV But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace. In these cases it is clear that the victim is not responsible for divorce. Re-marrying is not sin and IMO to state otherwise is going against Scripture. I would also say that in abusive relationships the victim in particular has ground for separation. My heart breaks for those who suffer in abusive relationship. Like Cobalt I too am headed to church so I’ll try to address further the points presented. Go bless, GE Amen! I think this say it all. Don't forget that King David in a moment of weakness, not only committed adultery but than kill the woman's husband II Samuel 10. Yet he was still know as a man after God own heart (I Samuel 13:14). For even after committing these great sins, King Hezekiah, and Josiah were compare to David for following God with all their hearts (II Chronicles 29:2; 34:2).
  2. 12) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believe on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto My Father. 13) And whatsoever ye shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14) If ye shall ask any thing in My Name, I will do it. John 14:12-14 So what do you think the works and greater works will be that we can do; or do you believe that this was just a message for the Apostles? Just trying to formulate some type of idea of what Jesus could have been referring to here.
  3. Though are two of my favorite also. I love these two stories because we see that in them bad things can and do happen to the godly. But my favorite is the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. I can't not ever understand how a Perfect God who hates sin so much, could love us so much that He became our sin(s), Hebrews 9:28; II Corinthians 5:21, and than allow Himself to suffer death and rose three days later that I (we) might have eternal life. And before all this Jesus calls us Friend: 13) Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down His life for His friends. 14) Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. John 15:13-14 I wonder to myself God, with friends like me, you really don't need enemies, yet with all my shortcomings I have the dearest and Greatest friend ever.
  4. I agree with Walla, and really enjoyed the lame stream media remark.
  5. John the Baptist told the Jews that one mightier than he(Jesus of course) would baptized us Believers with the Holy Ghost and Fire (Matthew 3:11-12; Luke 3:16-17. And when we receive the Holy Spirit we as Believers become the Temple (or House) of the Living God, I Corinthians 3:16-17; 6:19-20. So just perhaps God allow you to understand that the Holy Spirit turning your body into His Temple, has also baptized you in fire.
  6. I have often wonder the same thing myself. The Bible was made to correct us, II Timothy 3:16. But we hear and see so many modern scholars wanting to correct God's Word it saddens me greatly.
  7. God Riches At Christ Expense Grace is God gift of Christ righteousness to us unfaithful sinners. Romans 5:20-21 20) Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, GRACE did much more abound: 21) That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might GRACE reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. This is the truest gift that God gave unto us, His only Begotten Son became poor that we might become rich. For we know the GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich. II Corinthians 8:9
  8. 1) Jesus Christ is my only way to True righteousness before God; II Corinthians 5:21. 2) God has preserve His Love letter to me--the Bible. 3) And this is the one I'm still struggling to learn I need to trust my gracious Father to do what best for me, or I end up criticizing my God and showing a great lack of knowledge Job 38:2; 42:1-3.
  9. Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Job 38:2 I know that when I suffer I'm the first that wants to know why and question what God is doing. But this is my acting without knowledge or faith. For if the Father gave me His Hallmark Card (Jesus Christ for He care enough to send/give the very best) He will give me all good things. He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32
  10. The Holy Spirit is the One who helps to adopt me into the Family of God through my faith in Christ Jesus as my Redeemer. John 1:12; Romans 8:15-17; Galatians 4:4-7. So that now I can call God Father, Abba, Daddy, and I will inherit the riches of Christ which He gave me by becoming poor for me II Corinthians 8:9. The Spirit also circumcised our hearts so that we can be identify with Christ Colossians 2:11.
