  1. How about this Ezra? Romans 16:7; Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews who have been in prison with me. They are highly respected among the Apostles and became followers of Christ before I did. Now Paul makes mention of many Christians in Europe and Asia but no mention of anyone in Jerusalem. So I ask you, who are the Apostles that Andronicus and Junia are highly respected by? Can you find that in your Strongs Concordance?

  3. Sorry Leonardo, I don't follow you. Your use of Scripture to make a point confuses me. You just said the voice I hear is not from God. That's quite a judgment on your part. So if it was not of God, who is it from? Are you saying I'm listening to demons? Therefore my actions to serve God are from demons? That I should listen to you and not demons? I know you may mean well but your communication is lacking. And why is that?
  4. Hi, nice to see you here.
  5. Thanks, but how do you check if you can use something?
  6. Now you are confusing me. If a song is free on you tube, why would it not be free here. If this forum is making money off me posting this song, then it becomes a forum issue, not my issue. Could you explain it better?
  7. In years past ( I don't know the present), a person may knock at your door looking for something to eat. People would have a storage room, a cellar, or someplace that they may look to see if they have something to give. In this case, he says if you have nothing, maybe you'll find a penny, if not, maybe a half penny, and if nothing, then God bless you anyway. This song is Irish tradition, but my wife grew up in Italy, and WWII, and the idea of this song was prevalent in her life as well. When a person received food, anything, it lifted your spirit. It fed your body and soul. Thus, a soul cake. An older European could well explain it better than I.

  9. Mark, these verses you use here do not support your point. You speak softly and you make it sound lovely. But the verses you are referring to are 1 Corinthians 3:10-15; It is being spoken to a very living church and it speaks of warnings, enduring things, the Day of the Lord, spiritual works being tested, fire, life tested, spiritual loss, and spiritual failure. Nothing here refers to the dead, only the living. If you believe what you say and you believe it is backed up in Scripture, then you will have to look elsewhere.
  10. Slights? Maybe you need to study what new age is and how much the RCC has embraced it long before most of us knew what it was.
  11. Good point. What could the will of God be for dead people that would want us to pray for them?
  12. This is a whole new idea to me. Very new age.
  13. People still pray for that with "mass cards".
  14. I don't know about any of you, but if I can cheat the flames in the end, I won't be complaining.....
  15. I understand. We all have our opinions. In 1 Corinthians 13:9,10; the Apostle Paul says "for we know in part and we prophecy in part", but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears". I've always been taught that none of us have all the answers. That there are some things we will have to wait for to get the answers. And I believe the Trinity is one of those things. But may I ask my question? Maybe someone else has an answer. So that us humans we can understand, what is the best way to express that we worship one God in Trinity and Trinity in unity, neither confusing the persons or dividing the substance that we are compelled by the Christian truth to confess that each distinct person is God and Lord, and that the deity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is one, equal in glory, and coequal in majesty? This is a Lutheran quote, but I don't know the source.
  16. I'll buy one, pay in advance.
  17. Hi Worthy, what are the consequences of believing in the Trinity in any other manner then what you have said? It seems your quote of Isaiah says that God is a righteous God and A Savior and there is none other. Who's speaking here? God the Father? Or Jesus? And what of the Holy Spirit? Is he the one speaking here? There is nothing clear in your quote of 1 Timothy 2:5. The way Paul writes this one could easily believe that God and Jesus are two different people and the Holy Spirit doesn't get included. I will debate this with you if you like, but it will go on forever. I believe the Trinity is a mystery that cannot be explained. If everyone on this forum is asked to give a written explanation of the Trinity, I'm sure we will get some very interesting interpretations. And for this reason, our understanding of the Trinity is not a salvation issue.
  18. Well, you might be right. I'm gonna ask the old man who lives in the cave up on the mountain. We'll see what he has to say about it.
  19. I'm a know it all. Ask me what the answer is. I'll tell you.
  20. I agree.
  21. I agree.
  22. Ladies and gentlemen, I feel responsible for the turmoil in this thread. I find it hard to believe that anyone here doesn't love Miss Muffett, and vice versa. Please, I am new to this forum, I love all of you, and I don't enjoy seeing this infighting. There is one thing we should all agree on. That we love one another in Christ. The Apostle Paul pleaded with the church to do just that. I ask now that we drop this thread and thank God we have this forum and we have each other. Who will stand with me? Thank you. The White Rabbitt
  23. Well, I guess it doesn't matter, because he never answered me. And the person who deleted my thread doesn't feel a need to talk to me about it. I guess someone is letting me know that I'm not necessarily welcome here.
