  1. I have heard that alot of rules for the Israelite were simply to set them apart from the rest of the nations.
  2. Ok. Saul persued David but God had him prophecy instead. Why on earth did Saul take his clothes off? And wasn't there another prophet that did that? Typically doing that in public would be considered sin...no?

    coverings

Yes, my great aunt who is now 90 years old I heard say that once about ten years ago. About needing a covering, something about the church, they would be that. I think your covering is obeying Jesus because then you are abiding in His love. As talked about in the apostle of John.

    coverings

I was talking about what Willa answered. Spiritual coverings.

    coverings

What do you know about 'coverings' ?
  6. I was wondering if once a post gets to a certain age, you can no longer make a comment?
  7. Can I ask if it is emotional support you were looking for, or physical, or what? If not, fine. Hope you still will check this.
  8. I was under the belief that the old testament saints were just asleep, as well as Abraham. Which is supported throughout scripture. Wasn't being in Abrahams bosom just symbolic of that 'parable'?
  9. Did they in the old testament just go in together, and that made them married? Is fornication sleeping together without the intent of permanently staying with that person? Not sure.
  10. I won't do yoga, tho I always wanted to.
  11. Kind of wanted to post this in here instead of the doctrine forums because I think more people come in here, and it really isn't to understand the scripture, but to come up with ideas. This chapter really talks about only food and wine, but I was wondering what else could make a 'weak' brother stumble, especially in this present time. Or does anybody have any hangups that you are not sure about? Lol. Blessings......
  12. Alot of interesting comments. To me, it just seems like if it is righteous anger, then it would be hard to sin. I have had righteous anger, and it seems more difficult to sin than other anger. That is what confuses me in that passage. As Willa has stated in one of the scriptures that anger must be put away from you, so I can only assume that the apostle Paul is talking about righteous anger, which I didn't really think led to sin.
  13. How do you explain this one? The only kind of anger I am aware of is a righteous anger. Thanks.
  14. I think maybe the rest of it supports the first part since you have to do all of it for the result.
  15. Are you saying that paradise and heaven are two different things? I'm not following what you are are saying. Maybe you could reword that. How did he take paradise with Him to heaven, where was it before?
  16. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and suppliction with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." I confess this is something I overlook, tho every time I read it I think, 'oh yes, I must try this.' So this is supposed to guard our hearts and minds with God's peace. Interesting, since peace is something we often lack.
  17. Now that very interesting, that translation. Which is it? I use nasb, which I know had great reviews. No translation is perfect of course, but the nasb is most literal, it would seem to be have to translated that way, but yet the version you used (kjv?) Caused to to make sense, assuming King James knew what he was doing.
  18. "When He ascended on high, He led captive a host of captives, and He gave gifts to men. What is 'He led captive a host of captives?' Really tired of ignoring that one.
  19. Only what is true is revealed and known. The only reality. Unconditional love emanating out from everywhere. No need or want for love, for we are love. Fearlessness, absolute faith, doubtless, and true. No need or want for protection, for we are whole. All knowing. No need or want validation, proof, answers, for we are complete in God, like a drop of rain returning to the ocean. God's Grace everywhere. That really is quite beautiful, and probably true in Heaven (Except the bible says only God is love). And here we still do have to look for answers (Which why people post questions in here) Also, I personally don't believe we will be all knowing when we get there but will keep learning awesome things, forever when God reveals them to his glory as we praise Him.
  20. I know in some similar scriptures, I was getting out of them saying what we know we are responsible now responsible for as far as behavior and knowing the jobs He wants us to do. As far as the stripes, I wondered, what, not to be too graphic, but, well, does that mean less flames or a kinder place down under?
  21. How do I contact traveler or Candace for the password to the ladies lounge? Not seeing everything I guess from my little phone. Thanks.
  22. But not only that, even prayers, in this instance, sounds the same.
  23. Can somebody define these words? 1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,... Those two words, entreaties and petitions, sound the same.

    James 5:12

But as 'other one 'said, that sounds right.

    James 5:12

Didn't we all used to swear by something before knowing what the Bible said? I did it, but because I felt the need to not because I was dishonest otherwise. I have always been pretty straight forward. So why then did we do it? Because the other person who didn't know you well enough, you had to convince them.
