  1. Yes, it does seem like the water is with the Holy Spirit. Such a baffling subject really, since it lists them as separate and as a witness.
  2. Oh, never mind.
  3. I started thinking maybe what was greater was that which edified or exhorted the body of Christ most. This link does talk about that. That is like verification to me. I think.
  4. I used to have no problems uploading photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now this site lets me do next to nil. But for some mysterious reason, this one worked. I have three devises to try, and doesnt work on any of them. Does this picture look obnoxious? It's so obnoxious looking to me. Nice message, but the picture is so....so something.
  5. 1 Chorinthians 12:28 'And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.' I think Paul was trying to say these gifts are greater than tongues because afterward he talks about the Chorinthian church babbling so much in tongues, trying to look super spiritual or something. Is there more to this than just to get people to quit showing off, because it says 'God has appointed first' It's not like they have some more authority or something if they have greater gifts ( except apostles and the like) Perhaps there is absolutely nothing more than that, but I was wondering.
  6. Why yes, that IS a much more simpler explanation. Ehem.
  7. It does seem like the water and Spirit go hand in hand.
  8. Oops, nevermind, I figured it out. Been getting up way early these days. Like 4 to 5 and a half hours of sleep night.
  9. Do you boast in the Lord? If so, how?
  10. The definition of an apostle in the greek means someone who is sent away. Obviously she is not.
  11. It doesn't look that way to me.
  12. Actually, it looks like the Nephilim may have been different people altogether, because it says they were there in those days and also afterward. Saying that in the days the sons of God bore children the the daughters of men, and also afterward, in which it was the Nephi lim were the mighty men of renown, not the offspring of the sons of God.
  13. Genesis 6:4. It says MEN of renown.
  14. Known as being mighty warriors I thought. Doesn't the Bible say that? The sons of God is just a choice of wording used, and freaks everybody out.
  15. They were just 'men of renown.' There were giants when Isreal invaded canaan.
  16. Well that would make MUCH more sense then.
  17. I was just hearing or reading something the other day, that Jesus said, 'Go and MAKE DISCIPLES....' Not just get them saved. IMO, churches should stress the importance of reading God's Word, and many churches do not. It is how we grow! I wish somebody would have explained that to me. I was in church group once, and there was an argument in which one said we do not need the pastors teaching us when we have God's Word. Something then stood out at me later in Romans 3:20 '..a teacher of the immature.' It is totally the job of the church to do this. Something else stuck out at me recently, especially after hearing so much about 'wordly christians.' It tells us to 'encourage one another day after day as long as it is still called 'Today,' so that none of you will be hardened by the decietfullness of sin.' Hebrews 3:13.
  18. What I'd like to know is, how did the people believe it was really them, those who arose from the tombs and appeared to many. I'm picturing an old 'fashion' statement along with that. Ha. And like what did they say, Hey! I'm Moses! Perhaps the Holy Spirit told them.
  19. That was a good post about being the least to be the greatest. I was thinking about that and wondering how that might pertain to the lesser being blessed by the greater, if that pertains also in humans to humans. Which when you think about, anybody following g God more closely and being humble and meek and servant of all would certainly be a blessing to others. Those kind of people are always a blessing to us. It is naturally pleasant to be around godly people, peacemakers. I went off a little there but I was originally thinking along the lines of greater people than us maybe being pastors in our church, or elders who have followed Christ at least longer than us. But also, the humblest are also more heard by God, so their prayers may be more effective. Rambling thoughts...
  20. Well, ok....
  21. Great point!
  22. If Christ appeared to Abraham in this form, that does not make sense reading further on in Hebrews. It compares Christ with Melchizedek in ways. Melchizedek will probably be a mystery until we get to heaven. Clearly tho, yes, if this is a heavenly being in the form of man, then he would be able to bless! But does this mean for people to people on earth?
  23. The destruction of his flesh I believe is referring to our sinful flesh. If he gets kicked out, as a form of discipline, he would repent. Similar to Romans 7:14-25 talking about the sinful flesh. Actually, I'm pretty darn positive about that.
  24. Hebrews 7:7 'But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater.' This verse comes after the writer mentions that Melchizedek blessed Abraham who had the promises after Abraham gave him a tenth of the choicest spoils. ( Not sure how revelent the last part is pertaining to my question). So what do you think about this, the lesser being blessed by the greater? How does that work?
