  1. Godly wisdom is not based on intelligence. It comes from God and is based on obedience to the word of God. Those of a lesser intelligence can be, and often are, more wise than those with a high IQ because knowledge tends to puff up. Obedience is what made the builder wise in Matthew 7, not intelligence.
  2. Precisely. And intellect is a far cry from wisdom.
  3. Scholarly discussions tend to become displays of intellectual posturing which result in strife. I'm not discounting the value of reasoned discussions at all, but ultimately the Holy Spirit will show us the things to come. Way, way, way too often, pride gets in the way and the "exchange" of ideas becomes a one-way force feeding and nothing is gained. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. John 16:13 Scripturally, it is the Holy Spirit who ultimately reveals to us what is to come.
  4. I think we all tend to do this to one degree or another. We all have some idea as to how we think things will play out and tend to evaluate what people say within that context. The challenge is to be flexible and humble and attuned to what the Holy Spirit shows us.
  5. Who said anything about Muslims or Islam? Its a much bigger context than that.
  6. What I find interesting about Jericho is how that week of siege unfolded much like the seals; where seven is contained within the seventh.
  7. Maybe. Maybe not. I don't think we have too long of a wait to find out.
  8. The image is made of the beast, the evil angel with seven heads and ten horns that comes up out of the abyss. The deceived people of the earth make it. The beast causes the FP to exercise dominion by using him as a channel for manifesting supernatural power (calling fire down from heaven, etc). The image of that beast will likewise affirm the dominion of the FP. I see the image of the beast as a code of conduct that everyone worldwide helps craft when they line up to get the mark. The FP "weaponizes" it by making it law. Obey it or be put to death. So, I agree that the image is not of the FP. But in worshiping it (complying with the code of conduct), the FP is worshiped and his dominion is affirmed. Causing the FP to exercise dominion is what the beast does, and its what his likeness or image does as well. Anyway, this is getting off topic.
  9. Of the evil trio, only the false prophet (son of perdition, man of sin) is a human. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast. Revelation 13:14a And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Revelation 19:20a
  10. The last trumpet is the trumpet of God; its His trumpet. Then the Lord will appear over them, And His arrow will go forth like lightning; And the Lord God will blow the trumpet, And will march in the storm winds of the south. Zechariah 9:14
  11. Well, I guess that settles that. Have a great life.
  12. Preceding the sixth seal is a time of martyrdom, a time when the vast majority of people are deceived into thinking that the man of sin is God. From their perspective, they are doing God a favor by killing all those infidels. What do they do at the sixth seal? They hide. I think its reasonable to impute fear to them as a motive for hiding. Even if there is mourning at the sixth seal, I can't find where every eye sees " the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory" at that point. That to me seems to be the bigger assumption. And there's always this: “Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.” And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon. Revelation 16:15-16 Those who didn't stay awake and keep their clothes as the armies gathered for Armageddon will be the mourners.
  13. I see Revelation 6-11 as chronological with Jesus returning in chapter 11. Chapters 12 -19 I see as adding detail to the framework of 6-11. A couple of things to consider: At the sixth seal, do people actually see the Son of Man? Or is the sky rolled back to where people get a glimpse into the spiritual realm showing the throne room scene in chapter 5? At the sixth seal people hide in fear of the coming wrath. At the return of Christ everyone mourns. I don't see fear as being synonymous with mourning.
  14. Well said. We have similar backgrounds as pertains to study time and the transition out of the pretrib fallacy. I personally see "the sign of the Son of Man" in Matthew 24 as corresponding to what is seen by those on earth at the sixth seal, and "the Son of Man" being seen years later, immediately following the seventh trumpet. The Noah passage I see as speaking more to a lack of awareness than to the timing of God's wrath. Jesus is giving signs for the disciples to recognize concerning His return which is why God's wrath is left out of Matthew 24, and in my opinion, explains why Jesus skipped from the sixth seal to the seventh trumpet in verse 30; the seventh seal contains the wrath of God. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. Matthew 24:30 What do you see, if anything, that conflicts with that view?
  15. The important aspect of the two witnesses, in my estimation, is that we know that they are sent from God for the purpose of pronouncing righteous judgment on an evil empire. The false prophet (and the MSM of those days) will attempt to paint them as evil which is in keeping with their campaign of deception. It may not seem relevant to many at this point but its worth keeping in mind. Exactly who they are is interesting to contemplate. I've heard the transfiguration scene as being analogous to the inner sanctuary as described in 1 Kings 6:19-28, Jesus representing the ark being flanked one either side by a cherubim with the voice of God coming from above the ark as stated in Exodus 25:22. It was Paradigm that pointed that out. It may be somewhere in this thread. I didn't take the time to peruse back through it. It's an interesting analogy though.
  16. Jesus never said that He will send only Elijah. Unless the passage of the two witnesses in Revelation 11 is completely allegorical or spiritual, the two witnesses have bodies and are seen as the plague bringers which are killed and brought back to life.

  18. I tend to agree. I see the seven seals (and trumpets) as providing an outline sketch and chapters 12 and following as adding "color" to that sketch.
  19. Did Lazarus die twice? Others have been raised from the dead as well and have subsequently died again. I don't see Hebrews 9:27 as teaching an absolute that everyone dies once and only once. And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him. Hebrews 9:27-28 It appears to me to speak more to the sufficiency of Christ's single offering for sins which is followed by His return (not followed by another sacrifice for sins.) So, Enoch and Elijah? Maybe. I don't think you can discount Moses and Elijah as a possibility either.
  20. The point I was trying to make is that we won't be constrained by time and space as we are now, not that we couldn't interact with it.
  21. As finite beings we are limited in our understanding of the eternal but we have these glimpses to ponder. Concerning time: But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 2 Peter 3:8 Concerning time and space: So when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “ Peace be with you.” John 20:19 After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” John 20:26 It's not unreasonable to think that when we put on eternal immortality (at the resurrection / change / rapture) that we too will be outside the flow of time and not restricted by time to a specific location. I think the examples of Jesus, in His resurrected body, appearing to the disciples when the doors were shut and locked reflect that. I'm not going to argue the point but to say that it has NO basis in scripture isn't true.
  22. The technology may be here, but the mark of the beast (false prophet) is specific to him.
  23. I've made a YouTube video based on the pamphlet, in the off-chance anyone's interested. I know its not as enthralling as "pin the tail in the Antichrist" but . . .
  24. I personally don't see any of the horse-riders of the first four seals as being humans. I think Obama is a puppet, like most politicians, who are there to service of the agenda of the 10 horns.
