  1. 1 Peter 5: 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. At one point in our life or many points we have all met with the sparkly eyes nemesis called Anxiety. Especially in these times when life seems some perilous some times we are tempted to fall into a puddle of our own tears and give up. But we do not have to to do that for God has given us the perfect prescription to cure it' Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Step One: pray and give your trouble to god and do so fervently, for it is effective fervent prayer of a righteous person that avails much. And when you pray THANK God for answering your prayers. For it is faith in God that He will do what He says that makes that fervent prayer effective Philippians 4: 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Step Two; Receive the peace of God that will help you stand against the waves that are beating against you Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things Step 3: (and the one most skipped) Get your mind off of it. you have given your problems to God, the last thing you want to do is take them back. Refuse to think about then and trust God. Be proactive in tearing down those worries. If you know and believe God will help you, then these other things are just noise 2 Cor 10: 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, That's it, the 3 step prescription to weed anxiety out of your heart But all of this is predicated on your belief that God is your God and He can and will help you. And that is who He is Isaiah 40: 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Give it God....He wants you to be at peace and healthy and untroubled
  2. Well Jesus had Long Hair, Elisha Was Bald and pretty much everyone in the New Testament wore what we would call a dress....s0o Matthew 15:11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.” Jesus doesn't care what you wear, or how you look, He cares about the condition of your heart
  3. Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. Beginning the assembly with praise and worship is established 2 Corinthians 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of [f]necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. Giving is established (2 cor 2:9) 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, Sitting under bible teaching is established 1 Corinthians.10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the [a]communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 17 For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread. Communion is established So yeah pretty much it is biblical
  4. Not because of who I am but because of what He's done, not because of what I have done, but because of who He is I am saved simply and wholly by the grace of God, I cannot earn it and I cannot lose it But I can fake it, and those are who Jesus is referring to
  5. And yet undniable through the power of the the Holy Spirit
  6. Well in did have the nail scars, and the dear wound, so it had some vestige of the old body. The to disciples on the road to Emmaus did not recognize Jesus right away, whether that was by design or because His body was different I do not know
  7. Short Answer is free will. Which is the most important part of God's plan for by it we willingly and freely choose Him the down side is that some people use it to do evil things If you want to save the world, you have to SAVE the world
  8. While that telling has many important implications, there is one great distinction to take note of, that was BEFORE Jesus Died and Rose. Paradise (aka the Bosom of Abraham) is now empty because what could not be done for the righteous dead (stand before God) can now be done
  9. Strawman you do not condemn the whole by the actions of a few
  10. Well we are a distinct people Made special by the grace of God that is available to all 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. and this passage is preceeded by 7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,” 8 and “A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. The word is always effective.....and before one comes to God the must get over pride and be humble. James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Haughtiness only applies if it our own righteousness we put forth 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. I am not concerned what the proud person perceives, I will speak the truth, and the word will do what it set out to do
  11. Not at all Salvation is nothing we earn....it is a gift, given to all who ask It is the promise of God that He will never break I can do nothing to earn it and I can do nothing to lose it (though it can be given away) So when we say were are saved...we ARE bragging....on God
  12. Thou shall have no other Gods Before Me
  13. Romans Might Disagree Romans 10: 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
  14. None of those mention eternal torment. The fire is forever the smoke is forever The judgment (the second death) is forever but not the torment And I don't know if you misquoted this on purpose, but only Satan, the Beast and the false prophet will be tormented forever....it does not say "The Wicked" Revel 20:10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
  15. please provide many verses on eternal torment (not for angels, not the eternal fire, or the eternal smoke) make a rock solid SCRIPTURAL case for eternal torment and I will change my mind
  16. Scripture please I know for certain that in the great weeping scripture eternity or eternal is not mentioned
  17. The smoke of their torment is forever but no where will you find the phrase or idea of eternal torment The punishment....the second death is eternal
  18. It is what the bible says Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
  19. I believe hell ends of Judgement day as it says in Rev 21 Jesus talks about hell....of course I believe in it
  20. Coveting is wanting what is there you can covet their Lexus....meaning you want their car Or you can want a Lexus LIKE theirs which is not coveting
  21. I agree I have never seen in the nature of God anything that would amount to the petty vindictiveness that eternal torment ( a phrase NOT found in the bible) . The purpose of this life is the proving ground for the next eternal life, those who bow before God will go on to Eternal life in Christ....those who reject will go to the eternal (second) death and simply cease to be.
  22. I have always had a slightly different take on this one Said Jesus mean the size of a mustard seed, or something eles what is the faith of a mustard seed, It is to do what it is in its nature to do' If planted it WILL Grow, it will provide shade and food....it will do what it was made to do If we fully embrace the nature and will of God in our lives then we will do, what it is in our nature to do
  23. The bible speaks in many places of the Holy Spirit revealing this to us, about ourselves and others The gifts of the Holy Spirit contain "word of knowledge" which to my understanding is a revelation of knowledge by the Holy Spirit for others. Also discerning of spirits can reveal the condition of a person None of this is an innate human ability but rather a gift of God, for the purpose of God. Not psychic
  24. There are two extremes when it comes to reaching out to people 1. If all the emphasis on the truth, but with no compassion. Banging people over the head with the word of God, but not taking into account the person. Falling too far this way puts us in danger of being a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal 1st Corinthians 13:3 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. Alternatively we can find ourselves compromising the truth to save feelings and avoiding the hard truth that should be heard, MUST be heard in order to bring about salvation. If we compromise the word of God we become the Lukewarm Christian who is more dangerous than the lost Revelation 3: 14 “And to the angel of the church [j]of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither [k]cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Truth - Trauma Compassion - Compromise Where is the sweet spot? For me the unifying factor is love. If you are motivated by compassion then love for the person will not make the journey to hell pleasant, but will cause you to say the things that need to be said. If you are like me and truth motivated, you will remember that your purpose is not to win arguments, but to win souls, and the person you are dealing with has a heart....and a past that you probably know nothing about So whether you are a bible thumper or a hugger, love is the key motivation. But where is that middle ground for you.?
