  1. you want some, go earn some I will not chase after mammon
  2. Well hopefully that will be tossed out by the supreme court soon..... but you pay, or you break the law
  3. As one light mentioned: James 1: 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 1 Cor 10: 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Tests, and trials is how we mature as Christians....by occasionally being put in the smelters fire , we slowly have the impurities drawn away. It is how we come to know the sureness of the delivery of God....it strengthens us and it matures us Now....as you see 1 Cor 10 says it is not beyond what we can handle....so pure suffering....is probably NOT this.
  4. I pmed someone who was listed as a contact for the men's forum and have heard nothing back.
  5. God used, Pharaoh to accomplish His will God used Babylon to accomplish His will God used a great fish to accomplish His will God used Judas to accomplish His will and God will use the devil to accomplish His will If you ask me, the Crucifixion was all his doing
  6. That would be against everything Jesus taught A loving God is looking out for us and TRYING to save us. But if we slap away the hand of God....there is nothing else left for us but hell Accountability. Quite out of fashion these days
  7. The punishment is eternal in that it last forever. the torment doesn't Hell is not forever, it is done away with in the lake of fire Revelation 20 The Great White Throne Judgment 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,[c] and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.[d] 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
  8. My question is why is that the choice. Why not the choice of heaven and another trip to earth or heaven#2 or a time out corner? What good does hell do? Because the purpose is to sort us out. We have ample time in this life time to demonstrate to God what he needs to know. God is gathering to himself a willing people...a family. And if people don't want to be a part of that...then so be it.
  9. The Bible says something New Testament....Twice once in James and Once In Peter Submit to God, Resist the Devil and he will FLEE We have the power over satan in the name of Jesus and if we are not kicking his sorry butt to the curb on a daily basis. Thats on us Submit to God, Claim your authority in the name of Jesus, resist the devil and he will Hit the road and why is that? Because your big brother Jesus will be standing behind you
  10. This life is a testing ground.....to see who will accept Christ and who will not Those who will not, go to hell. AKA the grave, eternal darkness...full of regret, great weeping and gnashing of teeth. Until judgment day, the lake of fire and their end (Revelation 20) Why did God do this....because that is the result of the choice He gives us. Heaven or Hell But he does not send anyone there, He is trying to save us from there. We go their of our own accord, our own will....when we slap away the hand of God It is a hard truth...but it is the truth, God gives you a choice...
  11. Oh how can such a simple step be so hard? Good on ya bro
  12. Hi, RW. Where I am now...is good? "For it is God in you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure." Yes, it would seem that it is good. That said, it is yet *very* unpleasant. And despite repeated calls to the Lord, the heaviness remains. I speculate something of what wingnut said ("there is something I should be doing") plays into this, but I'm not entirely convinced. Another idea is that of God grooming for something, so that the experience I am having is indeed "good", is not a result of any wrong doing on my part, and will eventually work itself out to my pleasure (for having done something according to the will of God) and His glory and honour. And I would speculate that you do not seek to minister again until your spiritual house is in order A sound speculation, which of course is one of the most painful realities of this whole circumstance. It comes down to a question of why such a passion was put in me when in the end I am to be muzzled . The things of this world leave such a bad taste in my mouth, so the relevance of my life has all but disappeared. How tempting it is to say "I just don't know what to do", but I refrain, knowing the answer most, if not all, will give is to pray to God for answers and do what it is He is telling you to do in order to correct the situation. No sense enduring the repetition, right? If I may be blunt.....you have to learn how to be you. I also started my Christian life at full speed, and very soon jumped into ministry with both feet and it was an awesome time... but I had an eye on being a pulpit pounder in front of a mega church and God had a different idea. I was fortunate to have a friend who felt no compunction about grabbing me by the nose and slapping me around a bit unto I was in a state to listen. And God finally got my attention. we are trees.....we don't GO into our ministries...we GROW into them. God has set us on the path of our service and when we try and change that course things go awry, the train jumps the track. Take time now to grow into yourself, rebuilt the foundation in you and you will find opportunities will present themselves to you. They may not be in the way you expect or even frankly, want. But they are the best for us. God gave you a nature, and He gave it to you for a reason...HIS reason. When you have reached solid ground and are back in a good place I am sure God will show it to you. Right now, if your anything like me, if he told you what it was, you would probably jump right in. But the time is not yet...soon...but not yet

  14. It is hard when that which we hold so dear is ripped away from us. And when pride is involved it is that much harder and it sent you into chaos that you have since returned from What your life was....you cannot get back. But a new life awaits and God has set in motion His new plan for our life. Where you are now...is good, keep walking after the Lord and it will get better. If you want to send me a message I will be happy to listen and talk to you I am a 56 year old married man if that makes a difference
  15. Well I read it, and I have to say I Have problems with it. Yes....we do need to make sure we understand that context and the concept of what it being said, cherry picking scriptures is bad .....but I disagree that it was not written for me The book or Jeremiah was written to record the workings of God in those times. It reveals His nature and more importantly his response to His people. Jeremiah didn't need to write this down for the Jews facing Babylonian captivity...He SPOKE it to them it was written to us. Its purpose is to reveal the nature of God to us. And since Jesus told us in Matthew Six that God is able to do beyond all we ask or think and 2nd Cor 1 tells us that all the promises of God are Yes and Amen through Jesus Christ...that we can embrace all these promises of God....again in the context of the entire bible For instance we know that God's idea of prospering us and ours may be somewhat different. making sure we have "enough" and have peace, grace and mercy....that is prospering and I receive it. When I became a Christian I started out in a word of faith name it and claim it church that went WAY too far in its approach I think is article goes way too far in the opposite direction. People hearing scriptures about the nature and promises of God offers hope, that we cling to in faith. And that...is never wrong The Bible was written to me....and all of it applies to me, for it is the history of My God. When you take it all togther
  16. How accurate this statement? Sin is always in the why...never in the what meaning that an action in and of itself is not a sin, but joined with sinful purpose motivation it becomes sin Some Examples Killing Protecting your family - Not Sin? Killing someone who wronged you - Sin! Lying To save feelings, such as when my wife asks me if this dress makes her butt look big - Not Sin? To deceive - Sin! Stealing To feed your family like taking a loaf of bread in EXTREME need Not Sin? Downloading Pirated Movies - Sin! And so on Other sins like adultery, idolatry et al have no possible "upside"
  17. Yeah....no The fact that they are marketing the juice out of it, indicates the Spirit Behind
  18. The Bible does say there is none good but God But good is one of those words that has multiple meaning When we say God is Good , what we mean is God is perfect, and holy and righteous When we say "These pancakes are good" it simply means we like the taste Good night, simply means have a pleasant night although it could be analogius to God Bless....which means have a good night with God Sin is always in the why...the motive, never in the what So if in you're heart you are not using the word to blasepheme then you are not blasephemy
  19. What it directly means to my understanding is that no man made this word, it is no man's opinion and no man put his spin on It is God's word given to man and we can't "edit" it Yeah but it is with God, and it is on His terms we don't make our own And this means what? Simply that we don't determine what brand of Christianity we will ascribe to (because there are no brands, there is only Christianity, and we don't decide the truth God gave us His word....and that is what is
  20. Yeah but it is with God, and it is on His terms we don't make our own
  21. and it comes to mind, the only wrong way to pray.....is not to pray
  22. By reading the word, filling it with good and godly things Christian Music instead of Black Sabbath A Good Football Game instead Committing Adultery with the Stars as Philippians 4 Says 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
