  1. Crag Dweller....go figure
  2. My cat....does the most interesting things As does my wife and my Family. I want to challenge you my brother. I want you to create a post full of positivity and encouragement. Just one.
  3. Moments of rest and respites in a tumultuous life. I think of them as little islands of peace in a troubled sea called life That is why we should not seek happiness, but rather joy. For happiness is fleeting, but the Joy of the Lord is our strength to sustain us in between the respites I liken happiness to a little white butterfly...it flits around you and occasionally lands, you could spend your whole life chasing it and if you ever catch it, you would just kill it. Yes I I found much joy in the quiet times
  4. The Bible is anything but anti-intellectual. In the beginning, God created us as thinking beings in His image and gave us work for our minds (Gen. 2:19). Jesus commanded His followers to be mentally sharp (Matt. 10:16), and the apostle Paul urged us to “take every thought captive” to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor. 10:5). Drawing our conclusions about truth, error, right and wrong based on intuition and feelings—without disciplined attention to knowledge and clear thinking—isn’t Christian; it’s a worldly capitulation to the lazy sentimentality of our times." https://sharperiron.org/article/bible-anti-intellectual "Buddy" I quoted you scripture, that is God's word, why are you arguing with me?
  5. What we take from it is to beware of the pitfalls of being attentive to details. like anything it can be done right and it can be don't wrong. Being slightly OCD I need certain things in my life to be very much in order (and funnily enough not other things) and paying attention to detail has been very helpful As It can in the Spirit real, the God given ability to read other people and sometimes there "mail" as it is called, can be helpful....IF the word is given in time and in love. If there person is not in a receptive mood, you might as well invite a skunk in the room As they used to say in bible college, don't throw the baby out with the bath water, Yes there are negative aspects of nitpickiness, but there are positive aspects as well
  6. One person's nit picky is another person's attention to detail
  7. God never tires Isaiah 40 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Besides God there is only one other person you need to get approval from. Yourself. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back in the game. When you feel good about yourself... confident, at peace, it will effect those around you. Your earthy family might be a pain, but your heavenly Father loves you and is with you
  8. All I would offer here, is to never confuse the words of men with the Word of God
  9. Woof as a young Christian I used to avoid that verse now that I have been through the refiners fire a few times, I see the wisdom
  10. Amen, this message is so needed, I hope people take the time to read it, so often it is not a tweet sized post we soon pass over it (bookmarked this, as I will be coming back to it many times)
  11. How are you doing my brothers and sisters? If you are anything like me you have been in battle so long, that you have developed that thousand yard stare. Just moving forward in the Lord can seem like a struggle when the stream we are walking against is raging Our Faith and Our Freedom are under assault. So I would invite you to post a word of encouragement for fellow workers...and perhaps with the cheer and word we can find the strength to soldier on just a few more steps 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. My Favorite Scripture Isaiah 40: 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Your turn A scripture of hopeful testimony
  12. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
  13. I do not know enough to comment, but they have always struck me as "off"
  14. There are many sins that will keep you from heaven, if you insist on embracing and practicing them - homosexuality and sexual perversion is among them 1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. But we must always separate the sinner from the sin. Yes the sin can be condemned and should be....but not the sinner,. this is not God's purpose. God's purpose is to save people, to tell them good news....for them to fully appreciate the good news, they have to comprehend the bad news The truth contains both. There is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. Not everyone will repent, but everyone who desires it must know that God is willing able and ready to save them today The desires will not go away in one day (without a miracle) it took a long time to plant them deep and it will take time and care to root them out, but the desires is not the sin, its what you do with them that determines sin....do you resist them, deny them or entertain and act on them Love the sinner and accept them, but do not affirm the lifestyle lest the Deceive themselves For the goal God has in mind for each sinner is 1 Corinthians 5:. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were [d]sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. never condemn the sinner, never comprise the truth and justify the sin
  15. I have only one Play "Your will be done on Earth as It is In Heaven"
  16. God was God in Genesis Chapter 1 and 2 he said what He did, How he Did it and in what time frame he did it in. if you are insisting that God was not telling the truth, then that is a problem. He left very little for the imagination. He spoke and it was
  17. Calling the bible figurative is placing the knowledge of man above the knowledge of God Did God lie to us when he SPECFICIALLY told us how he did things?
  18. God very clearly stated how and when He did creation. He spoke it into existence and did it all in 6 days. He capped his creation by forming man out of the dust of the ground and breathing life into Him. He did not evolve. To accept scientific notions that are opposed to this word of God, is to place man above God Romans 1: 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God (creation) into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. (Evolution)
  19. Deductive reasoning man to discern the things of God.....well that surely is an inadequate tool Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
  20. That is a long way from proof. Unless you need it to be proof
  21. One Simple Answer "Because People" People want to be in charge to be special to bearers of the secret flame In one sense it makes good sense, at one point we have pretty much one global church and it was corrupt and uncontrollable dividing it amongst several groups has mitigated that. But again that is just because people are going to people. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely God and Christianity has no denominations, people do. So Again - Because People
  22. God bless Peter, so like me. Quick to jump out of the boat but not a lot of preparation ------- Matthew 14: 25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, [c]“Be of good cheer! [d]It is I; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw [e]that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. ----------- We so like to chide Peter for his lack of faith, but it was his faith that caused him to get out of the boat in the first place, walking on the water towards Jesus. Leaving eleven other cowering souls on the boat, No lack of faith wasn't his main problem. Getting distracted and taking his eyes of of Jesus was. We have all been in a similar situation where our world is crumbling around us, and we reach out to God for help....but somewhere along the way our attentions go back to our troubles and we falter For Peter is was the wind and the waves, for us various things, But there are two important lessons here. 1. Don't take your eyes of Jesus and 2. If you do and you start sinking Jesus will still rescue you. Do not let your circumstances cause you to be anxious, worry or doubt cast your cares upon Jesus for He cares for you. As Philippians 4 Tells us 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things 1. Do not Be anxious....do not entertain worry and doubt but when they come.... 2. Prayer and give it all to God....but really give it to Him and thank Him for taking care of it 3. They leave it behind in his care, and don't think about it...but rather put your mind on wonderful things because you ARE belieiving that God will take care of this "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace." And if you need a little help from your brothers and sisters to get over the hump...ask
  23. I remember who is asleep in the prow of my boat. We don't always have to be strong, if we let HIM be strong 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
