    There are probably many people here, who could advise you better than I, but just because "some people" say the end times begin next month, doesn't make it so. People have been speculating dates since Christ walked the earth. Take it to God. What you ask is for peace of mind in your decision, and He can supply that. Don't rely on what "some people" say.

    Interesting stuff! So, no candy on Halloween, no tooth fairy goodies, no presents on Christmas, no Easter Egg hunts, etc. That would be the truth of it. What would be the effect of it, to a small child ? Disappointment, but a solid foundation. I believe it's up to each Christian parent to decide what is best for their own children. I certainly wouldn't fault them either way. Not really my place. "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

    My point (which I have been very silly in illustrating) is bopeep, that many topics have been "derailed" into an RCC debate (which anyone who has been party to such a thing) knows will likely not be resolved between those involved (history kinda proves that). Is that fair to the OP? Maybe so. I am no expert by any means. It just seems ( to me ) that maybe this topic is best addressed in it's own place (by all those concerned), rather than injecting Protestant-ism vs. Catholic-ism into subjects that did not have that intention. Maybe I'm wrong. If so, I apologize and will stay on the Fellowship / Outer Court threads.

    I don't believe that a discussion over a hypothetical situation is worth the polarization between followers of Christ. Pat would likely lay down his life for any of you, and you would likely do the same for him.

    Unless you've ever taken a life, I don't think you can know the temporal ( let alone spiritual ) impact of such an action ( whether accidental, purposely, self-defense, or the defense of another ). I have not seen anyone advocate violence or the taking of life. All of our actions and attitudes have been / will be judged, by our own hearts and minds as well as by God. I pray we never have to know.
