  1. We were doing well here but now our cases are going up again, not sure what they'll do. Currently we can have gatherings of up 250 or 2/3 the max occupancy of the building. Masks are required in most locations. They ask that people keep private gathers to under 10 people/50 if held in a location that isn't a private home. But people down here don't really listen - parties happen often. (college areas) There was uproar yesterday as New Orleans called off all 2021 carnival plans (no Mardi Gras parade), which doesn't affect me as I avoid anything to do with that but many were outraged. Mardi Gras is what caused the HUGE influx of cases here last year, we were a known "Hot spot" for a few months.
  2. You're the kindest sweetest chicken on earth. We are ALL blessed to know you.
  3. We all know how negative 2020 has been and that we have all endured some painful things this year. But how about we all take time to focus on some of the blessings we experienced this year, especially as we approach the holiday season. So, what good thing has happened/what is your biggest blessing of 2020?
  4. I've always felt like I belonged on the Island of Misfit Toys personally and as I get older I feel that way more and more, and I'm okay with that
  5. We should all remember to reply in the love of Christ, even when we disagree. There is no reason to respond to another believer with ugliness or unnecessary attitude.
  6. You're kind of making me want spaghetti at this point. I will also be using the internet to check in with my friends here and other places. I think that celebrating Christmas is fine as long as we recognize it for what it is, a day that we celebrate the birth of our Savior. "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." If you feel like you shouldn't celebrate, that is a PERSONAL conviction and something that you shouldn't expect others to follow. The Holy Spirit directs each of us and we follow that direction. It's an error on our part to place our personal convictions on others. Silent Night
  7. Don't get too excited, it's really not THAT cool. and it's only 1 thing that happens so enjoy the ride.
  8. Ohh you could get some little lights and decorate them!
  9. I used to spend with some other single birds too, but now all of those single birds have become married birds and the majority have moved away. So, my igloo is where I stay on Christmas day, as I watch my tree light up and cook a full on meal for myself (and eat leftovers for days).
  10. Alive, have you been here during Christmas before to see the threads people create around Christmas time? If you have, I'm sure you've seen the some of the posts that Chicken Coop is referencing. I don't believe he was being critical or attempting to shed a negative light on fellow Christians. He is simply stating a fact of what unfortunately occurs from time to time.
  11. When I lost my mom, Christmas was truly unbearable. I dreaded it, volunteered to work every single year as I did not want to spend it alone. I have friends I could go be with but it's very awkward to "interrupt" on another families holiday. So now I just stay home and enjoy some peace. Work returns soon enough for me LOL I do wish you were closer, Coop. I would bring you a meal and we could eat together.
  12. I'll be off work and home alone. I'll pop in and keep you company. I think I did for a bit last year. When you don't have a family, Christmas can be difficult. I tend to decorate and be festive as it brings me happiness. If I have to be alone on the holiday, at least I can be happy. Others seem to feel convicted to have a tree or to decorate, I do so in celebration of the Prince of Peace who was born (obviously not on 12/25) Who brought us joy and Who has gifted us with life and desires us to be happy. I see no harm in it as I do not worship the tree I put up, I worship the King.
  13. The purpose? Every year we have people who come in here and make threads that talk about how evil Christmas is and how ungodly we are if we put up the "pagan" trees. So Walla here is just being pro-active and creating this wonderful thread lol its gonna be YUGE
  14. I shall be there on 12/24/20 around midnight. Don't be alarmed when you see me
  15. @IloveyouGod. PITN, does santa still come to your house? If so, I will meet him there this year.
  16. No...... If I'd known this I would have been doing whatever it is for about the last 23 years which was when he first went missing.
  17. excuses excuses, I mean, I'd understand if I was bad - but you're promised coal at least. *sigh* abandoned by santa .... maybe christmas is evil afterall.
