  1. Mat 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. https://www.blueletterbible.org/assets/images/copyChkboxOff.gif Mat 24:41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. https://www.blueletterbible.org/assets/images/copyChkboxOff.gif Luk 17:35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. https://www.blueletterbible.org/assets/images/copyChkboxOff.gif Luk 17:36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. To me it seems the saved and unsaved are going about normal work, and suddenly one is taken - the other left. I think they are taken to "where the carcass is - there will the vultures be gathered together" It is not a good TAKEN
  2. The "days of Noah" passage seems to be saying it will be "business as usual" in the day that Jesus comes back. That doesn't sound like "great tribulation - which has never been and will never be again".
  3. 1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
  4. Happy Thanksgiving to all! I had nothing but a salad tonight so I can PIG OUT tomorrow.
  5. Additions to Esther and Additions to Daniel. These are extant in Greek, but not in Hebrew or Aramaic. Esther is a book that in our versions common to ALL Christians, but contains extra stuff. Daniel has additions - parts that were only in Greek, whereas the rest of Daniel is in Hebrew or Aramaic. In the extra parts of Daniel - the Prophet Habakkuk brings food to Daniel while he's in the Lion's Den - but these events happen about a century after Habakkuk lived. Also. in this extra part, Daniel spends a whole week in the Den, whereas in the account more familiar - Daniel just spends one night. So I kind of dismiss the extra parts of Daniel.

  7. 2Sa 6:6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. 2Sa 6:7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
  8. The guy that reached out his hand to steady the Ark. ZAP!!!
  9. Of course the 2 witnesses do not HAVE to be someone we already know - Enoch, Elijah are good guesses, and Moses is good too. No use to be dogmatic about it.
  10. If you look at the MIRACLES that the 2 witnesses do - it looks more like Elijah and Moses. But the 2 witnesses are KILLED by the beast - and Moses has already died, his death is recorded in the Bible. Many early church fathers said the 2 witnesses were Elijah and Enoch - because they are two who did not die It is APPOINTED a man once to die - and judgement after that - not necessarily THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT - but merely KRISIS - judgement There will be a generation that DOES NOT DIE - regardless of being appointed to it -- we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. Moses and Elijah fit very well, and appeared together at Transfiguration
  11. The nay-sayers (cessationists) seem to focus on all tongue-tawkin being like Acts 2 - failing to realize there are divers kinds of tongues further on in the New Testament I can barely grasp what all went on the one day on Solomon's Porch - much less all the different DIVERS kinds of tongues that occurred later. All of them will eventually CEASE - but that hasn't happenned yet
  12. How much is miraculous HEARING and how much is miraculous SPEAKING? IT's BOTH until Peter begins his sermon - he obviously speaks in one language - but it is heard in many languages. I wish I had a movie of it. We have 120 people speaking in other tongues - are they inside, altogether - or are they outside at Solomon's Porch? At first - they are IN A HOUSE Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. So it starts out 120 people in a house, talking in tongues Act 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. or - as NLT has it - When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers. Are Andrew and Phillip speaking in Parthian - and Parthians clustered about them - as Bartholomew and John of Zebedee speaking in Cretian as Cretes gather round them? Many disciples speaking other languages, and it appears they are drunk. Peter stands up and says they are not drunk, and goes on to preach to 3000 Jews who miraculously hear him in their own language? It just boggles my mind. Acts 2 is just SOME of how Tongues occurs in different parts of the New Testament. 1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
  13. DeighAnn asked "Is there scripture where the 'tongues' being spoken was not someones actual language?" Do you mean was it always HUMAN languages which were spoken? I dunno. Paul writes "though I speak with the tongues of men and OF ANGELS" and some say that is hyperbole - but that doesn't mean ANGELIC LANGUAGES are ruled out. TONGUES OF ANGELS are a biblical reference.
  14. 1Co 14:39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
