  1. According to Rom 10 you referenced above it is a package deal. Believing in Heart, and confessing with our mouths One without the other is incomplete and robbed of saving power . . . So whether of not you call Him Jesus, or Jewish name for Joshua it is clear that there is only one Savior and Messiah in whom we must believe and call upon to be saved.
  2. Amen and Amen!!!!! Come Lord Jesus!!!
  3. Yep. That is a daily question we all should be asking, so I completely understand that open-ended reply to this OP. In my opinion, we all really want an detailed physical roadmap containing every turn and POI along the way of our earthly pilgrimage and , . . in an sense we generally do have that in the Bible . . . BUT . . . I have found out that the Holy Spirit wants make the Word alive and to lead and guide us . . . helping us on our journey with all the twists and turns and detours in our lives. In a sense . . . He is more of an GPS helping us on a turn-by-turn basis, Not giving us the complete picture of our trip. Yes . . . we know what the destination is . . . but . . . we don't know every detailed turn along the way of our lives. . . . So . . . IF we simply read and study His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us . . . we won't miss the important turns in life. AND even if we do take a wrong turn, He will help us with corrected directions to get us back on path He has for us . . . . Ray . . .
  4. Yes. We have been for the last 2K years . . . But . . . any sane person must admit that we are now closer than ever . . . . So . . . Make plans and work for the Kingdom like He is not coming for 100 years . . . BUT . . . be ready and stay ready for the King's coming like He is coming today!
  5. Very good. I agree that it is discerning of spirits. Additionally, I would note that many times spirits operate though people by giving false ideas and theology designed to lead people off course and deception. Since you have studied discernment, maybe you could give some biblical examples of discernment, and further give some examples of modern day discernment that would help us.
  6. [Psa 1:1 KJV] [1] Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
  7. Christians should be 'Christ-like'. So whatever Jesus did, is how we should be, and whatever Jesus does now and in the future is what we should want to do. I suspect that this is not the answer you are looking for, or the intent of your OP, but, I believe the IF in the OP is mandatory for an free and open conversation about this topic. Frankly . . . I don't care as long as I am with Jesus . . . whatever/wherever He is is what and where I want to do and be with.
  8. JFK will expose all the vaccine 'dirt' if he follows though with what he pledged to do. I did not get the 'jab' even in the face of being fired from my job at an DOD contractor. So I retired instead. I took the stand that the government would never dictate my health care and stood by that conviction. My doctor agreed mid-2021 that based on his information that getting the 'jab' was an bad idea. I thank God I never got covid even though I know I was exposed. Friends died of Covid, but, all of them were health compromised to begin with. Still . . . because the government refused to allow alternative treatment options, many died that did not have to die. May God the Just judge those who knowingly hurt and killed people. In MI covid patients were 'shipped' into nursing homes. Anybody reading this see issues with sending covid into the most at-risk populations? DUAH . . . !!!!! Yes . . . . many aged people died in MI, while denying their family to visit them in their last hours . . . What a crime!!!
  9. So the real question about the 5 year old is . . . Autism or not? IF he has autism, then most churches are not equipped to handle them, it just depends on the degree of autism the child has. I have 2 grand kids who are autistic. One is a high functioning one who is socially backwards but almost a genus. The other is severe, and has meltdowns that a typical church staff do not know how to help. IF the child is simply un-disciplined . . . than that is on the parent who does not train the child at home on what is acceptable both at home and publicly, and so we should not expect it to be differently in public. Parents cannot expect the church staff to 'fix' their kids when they are not 'trained' at home how to act in home and out in more public settings. I would assume that the child is in school? How are they handling him? Clearly we don't know all the specifics of your situation, but, I pray that you can get the help you need. Having said that . . . the church is clearly wrong and out of line in what they did. They should have called the parents asking them to come get their child and let the parent help them. The church has no business 'disciplining' kids as it is not their role. And yes . . . leave the church, tell the pastor why, and find one who can help you be an godly loving parent who can tackle the issues you might have. I admit that in the above I may have made assumptions, if so, then you can ignore my reply.
  10. Exactly true. I used to own an old farm house in an area that was known for a lack of water, and most homes had a shallow water source. One year . . . we had an drought without rain for almost an entire summer. Of course my well dried up and thats another story about how much water I had to carry to support a family of 7 people. Anyway, I noticed that there was a tree near my well that was green and flourishing while other trees were clearly drying up and struggling to live during this time. Then I looked into my cistron where my water source was, and I discovered that deep down in it was an tap root that the flourishing tree had pushed through the side of the cistern and was taking water from my well source. My point is that like the tree I just spoke about, during times of 'heat' and seemingly 'drought' in our lives, we should put our spiritual roots deep into the life giving water of the Word of God, and receive life giving spiritual water we desperately need to live for Jesus. 11. Here’s what the bastion of truth (kidding) Google reports. the US buys more goods from China than it sells to them - there is a goods deficit of $295bn. The total amount of goods it buys from China is $440bn. Dividing 295 by 440 gets you to 67% and you divide that by two and round up. Therefore the tariff imposed on China is 34%. my guess is that there’s a deficit trade with Singapore and that factors into the tariff rate.
  12. NPR = National Progressive Radio . . . . so they will negatively spin everything Trump or conservative related stories. . . Listen . . . the simple solution to nations who trade with the USA is tariff free trade . . . remove tariffs on the US and Trump would remove tariffs on countries trading with us. Or . . . have some kind of balanced tariffs for various goods. This can of worms has been kicked down the road far too long. I hope that in the next few years resolutions that are 'Fair' to all nations INCLUDING the USA. Another solution is for foreign and domestic suppliers to be raised up as alternative suppliers for many goods and services.
  13. Indeed it will be an AWESOME event! So . . . on an side note . . . what kind of trumpet(s) does the Lord have? Trumpet, or coronet, flugel horn, trombone, other various forms of brass or precious metal instruments? I see that Revelation has Angels that were given trumpets to blow at various times . . . .
  14. That is your right to choose to view the movie or not for sure . . . but . . . May we ask as to why not?
  15. Agreed . . . But what if . . . . what if . . . what IF we prayed effectively and God intervened in 'some' of the terrorists activities and moved in our behalf? If praying could move God to change the outcome of some of these things maybe it would be worth our time and effort seeking God's will in earthly affairs, and yes, even government issues. Just asking . . .
  16. Well . . . regarding the Garden and Tree of Life . . . [Gen 3:23-24 KJV] [23] Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. [24] So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Wouldn't the decedents of Abraham still be able to see the Garden and Cherubins guarding it? Not sure exactly when the Garden was destroyed, but, wouldn't the Flood have done that? If so . . . then Adam could have pointed to it and then told people about it? Hummmmm . . . . . wondering . . . .
  17. I know this is an side comment, but, I absolutely Love your animated fisherman getting eaten by a shark! Very funny! Regarding prayer . . . I believe that Quality and not Quantity or Length of time praying is my rule regarding prayer. I fully aknowledge that I have revealed an certain weakness in prayer as a whole, in that I have not prayed for my pastor, church, saints that I know who are struggling with various things . . . so . . . I am not an good example of an Prayer Warrior. BUT . . . I am willing to change and become involved with them all by praying for them now . . .
  18. I understand you being conflicted. We have been taught in western culture that we should stay out of politics and world governmental affairs, which essentially has 'neutered' the church so we are no longer influencing the world governments around us. Some say 'Well if we get the culture around us saved, then government will inevitably be changed' That is true, however at the same time we need to ask ourselves how that is working for us. Is it God's fault? Obviously NO! So we must not be going into 'All' the world including our various governments. For countries who are dominated by dictators, then we need to pray for those leaders knowing that God can go where we cannot. Also, My understanding is that we need to be specific regarding what we are praying for, otherwise we could just pray an general prayer to 'Bless all the hurting children, and save all the people of the world' and we would be done . . . right? Just asking questions
  19. Ok . . . So I am going to publicly expose an failure in my Christian life that I have recently revealed to me by the Holy Spirit . . . Namely an lack of prayer for other people, for my pastor(s), and generally all types of prayer including intercession. I have been an elder for many years, and in various leadership capacities, and have served the body of Christ by doing various things that an leader and servant would and should do. Yet . . . many times people I love . . . especially pastors I have left 'exposed' due to my lack of intercession for them and other people in the churches I have been a part of over the years. Frankly, IF I had been attentive to pray as the Spirit asked me to do over the years there would have been less calamity and heart ache for people I loved dearly. I hereby publicly repent of that failure in my life, as I have repented to God for not covering people in prayer and intercession. This also includes praying for my country and those that were elected in our republic of states. Even IF some of us are unwilling to become involved in political processes and prefer to let the enemy steal our input into government, that does in no way let us off the hook of praying for our elected leaders. Enough said about that less this new thread is turned into an 'O how I hate Trump' thread. My point is this; Since I have learned how to take prayer more seriously, and have answered the call to pray for all men as scripture commands us to do I now see areas of prayer that I never saw before, which is, as I see it, a good thing. So . . . how about you ? ? ? Has this happened to anybody else on Worthy
  20. Food for thought . . . thanks for posting. I have tried over the years to get away from electronic bibles on PDAs (old I know) and phones But I can do so much more with electronic bibles. I suppose the down fall of this is that when something goes wrong with electronic bibles, I lose track of the 'feel' and familiarity of my printed bibles.
  21. What comes to mind regarding this has already been mentinoed in the above replies. In addition . . . Rejoicing with those who are rejoicing . . . weeping with those who are weeping. It is an walking with each other through good times and bad times. You would be surprised that there are brothers and sisters in Christ that get offended when God's people prosper or win or are blessed in life . . . things we all should be rejoicing over IF we truely love each other. Conversely . . . when hard times and/or tradegdy happens in peoples lives, we should not shy away from them as if they are contagious. We should comfort them in times of grief, and give them prayer, help of all sorts. Ray . . .
  22. This is all good and fine discussion for English speaking people . . . but . . . what about other languages like Spanish, Russian, Chinese and many many more? Do we insist that they learn English so they can read the KJV? This is not an criticism but an honest question . .
  23. For this particular verse it seems to me they are all saying the same thing . . . which is expected and good. Problems can arise when we get lazy and don't check multiple versions. Sometimes when we check multi translations sometimes 'outliers' will appear that should be checked out further to see if they are correct or possibly contain doctrinal or denominational bias. Its rare, but since translators are people it could be possible, right?
  24. Having read though all the replies to this, I just don't understand why some of the replies would be taken offense at. No where did i find that Dennis was called an liar, and frankly I feel a little dumber from reading though all the mis-communication in this thread. Maybe there was other OP disagreements bleeding over into this one? I do, however understand passion for various topics not essential to salvation and have at times gotten caught up in them (like Christians being involved in politics and civic duty), and last time I allowed that passion to get away from me, I regretted it because now I see OPs from that person I disagreed with and ignore them altogether. Not very mature of me to do that is it??? So my personal outlook on Worthy is to 'eat the hay and spit out the stubble' and realize that I don't always have to have the last word on anything talked about here. . . . Ray . . .
