  1. The best way to restore any kind of relationship is to confront the problem and ask forgiveness if needed. Sure, it could be awkward, but they may see you in a better light if you approach it as if you understand you may have upset them and are looking to resolve the conflict.
  2. Of course the exemption would only apply to those who directly pay property tax. For those who rent an apartment there is a small fraction of their actual rent payment that would be applied to the property taxes that the owner of the complex pays. There could be some other consideration for those who rent a house. I am sure a good portion of the rent people pay in that situation actually goes to the property tax the owner pays.
  3. I am very much pro-gun, but do not currently own one. Mostly, because I am aware of the very real danger of having a gun in the house, no matter the type, when children are present. I have been considering purchasing one for home defense, but will certainly have all of my kids go through a gun safety course of some type. I will also make sure the gun is secure so that none of my kids will have ready access to it should I actually get one.
  4. Looks like the report from the OP was false, as he is still in the race, though I imagine he could only be a write in candidate since he jumped in so late. And we all know how successful write in candidates have been in the past.
  5. No, I do not know anyone personally who has died of this virus. Nor do I know anyone persnoally who has died of the flu, or the common cold, yet there are people that have. I am not discounting the fact that people have suffered and died of this disease, however, I am not going to blindly believe the numbers that are being reported about the number of cases, much less the number of people who have died since it is constantly being reported after the fact that these numbers are being inflated. In fact just today there was a report stating that many of the labs in Florida that are reporting positive cases are grossly inflated.
  6. Christian themed? What does that even mean?
  7. Do you really believe those numbers? Even Texas has been discovered to be inflating the number of positive cases and total deaths.
  8. Here are some to get you started: MercyMe For King and Country Newsboys Zach Thomas Audio Adrenaline Building 429 We the Kingdom Lauren Daigle I could go on...
  9. Where did you get that? I am pro-exegesis, not pro-integesis.
  10. I would take this information with a grain of salt. Just looking at my local area this map is saying that my county, which has a smaller population than the one next to us, has a higher likelihood of getting the virus. Both of which have nowhere near the population of the bigger cities in this state, yet we have the same percentage as those. Ridiculous.
  11. But where are you getting the 3-5 year time frame? There is nothing about time mentioned in this parable.
  12. But what does this have to do with the parable of the prodigal son? There is no mention of any specific time frame for allowing addicts, or the like, to be trusted again. The prodigal son has nothing to do with addiction. It is partly about kids being unwise with what is entrusted to them.
  13. Seeing as there is no mention of a specific passage of time in that parable where are you getting the 3-5 year time frame?
  14. Yes, it is legal. It is an online music streaming service which is free to sign up. The free version does have ads that play from time to time. If you want to not hear the ads you can subscribe to the premium version which is about $10 a month.
  15. I am not so sure it is about picking and choosing, but praying to God to impart a better understanding of how to apply scripture. The point is, if God forgives us of our sins making them completely forgotten by God why would we as humans, lesser beings, continue to remember people's past transgressions if they have already been forgiven by God?
  16. Out of curiosity, how far away do you live from your place of work? Is it possibly close enough to either take the bus, walk, or ride a bike? I have never used an Uber, but I imagine it can't be all that cheap.
  17. Not sure how you saw this as a petty argument. I was merely continuing the conversation to flesh out the different sides this could bring up. Personally, I would not recommend someone for a call if they had a criminal history (regardless of what they were convicted of).
  18. But doesn't God's forgiveness completely wipe the slate clean, thus making him eligible?
  19. That's the rub isn't it. Why should we, as lesser beings than God, continue to hold someone accountable for something God has forgiven them for? I do tend to agree that such a person should not be called to that kind of service, however, there is the dilemma of what God's will is for that person's life, and are we then either in line with, or against, God's will by preventing that person from serving in that capacity?
  20. I am aware of what the bible says. But if someone has been forgiven by God then everything should be forgotten, which means he would, at that point, be above reproach, right?
  21. But if he was forgiven, and did not show any signs of going back to his old ways, would he then be fit to serve as a pastor?
  22. I wasn't talking about allowing them to remain the same position. I was talking about having someone be considered for a call as a pastor in your church and they are a convicted sex offender. Would you recommend your church call someone with that kind of history?
  23. Ok, for the sake of this discussion, would have that same view if the person being considered to be a pastor (either senior, associate, children's, etc...) was a convicted sex offender? Will you still have the same stance?
