  1. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
  2. Hmmm? Should we we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. This is nothing new, very sad.
  3. Jesus asked, Have you not read what David Did in the Days of Abiathar?
  4. A day of rest is important. In Exodus and Deuteronomy a day of rest is commanded for even the animals.
  5. Nice to meet you too ♡ I would add that there are also many devout believers who find themselves in that place of hopelessness; it happens.
  6. Have you ever struggled with depression, Tammy? Some people are filled with such utter despair and hopelessness wanting nothing more than to escape the pain they're in. Have you read any studies or statistics that lead you to believe that many are influenced to commit suicide because of the idea of Heaven? I would argue that a suicidal individual desperately wants to flee the torturous place they're in without taking into consideration where they might end up. Perhaps some who have been suicidal might be able to confirm or deny this
  7. It can be hard to love the unlovable but I suppose it's what we are called to do.
  8. The Gospel of Love Board Book ♡ Perfect gift for this day.
  9. I choose Cherry ? here's my ballot. Oh, and I found a few more near the mailbox Oh, and here are a few ballots I'm dropping off for my family and friends. We all love cherry pie! Very honest, very American ??
  10. Perhaps this, And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:18-19)
  11. Oh my, so loud. I've been banned from chat for a lesser crime than this
  12. So we shouldn't harken to every dumb ass that speaks with a man's voice?
  13. I love to glean the scraps. The Acts of Paul and Thecla, considerd a forgery by Tertullian but interesting.
  14. I love Blueletterbible.org. So many tools, so easy to use. Brief explanation of Blueletterbible's Thayer's tool
  15. Both of these books have been a blessing to me. Condensed and concise. the Systematic Theology book has a very thorough glossary and index making it easy to look up topics. These were gifts from people who's beliefs aren't the same as mine and as with any book, I take some and I leave some.
  16. What? I see out of context comments as a game? Calling my comments mindless ramblings isn't very nice. Did you mean to quote me?
  17. How do we reconcile what was written in Act 15:20? That we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. The rest they'll learn on Saturdays at Synagogue. Didn't the apostles, the elders and everyone else there agree, including Paul?
  18. Oh, are we at Worthy Jesus Words Onlyists? I guess I didn’t know
  19. Oh yeah, I'm not sure if Jesus mentions any of that stuff
  20. Yes, in Acts 15:20 James instructs Paul to teach certain things (such as not eating meat with blood still in it) and James takes it a step further by saying that they will learn the rest on Saturdays at Synagogue. Paul says an idol is nothing John says Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
  21. Yes, and really they hardly knew each other (became acquainted over a 15 day period). Paul sends this open letter to the Galatians telling his side of the story. Do we have Peter's side of the story? Do we have scripture to confirm that Peter worked together with Paul to start the churches in Rome?
