  1. I just want to know who asked the above question on a Christian forum? Not knowing the context it seems quite funny to me that anyone would ask a Christian to help them prove that Jesus is not the Messiah!
  2. I would like to have someone look at this video to decide if it can be allowed. Title: "Why Does This Christian Think About This All The Time?" Person/s: Ray Comfort interviewing young man who has given permission for him to interview him on video but who is also unnamed. TOPIC: This is about suicidal thoughts. Living Waters addresses the reality that many young people are increasingly suicidal -- and yes, even Christians. Length: 5 minutes 50 seconds Link: https://livingwaters.com/why-does-this-christian-think-about-suicide-all-the-time/ Not copyrighted, free to use per Living Waters CEO Ray Comfort
  3. It IS very sad that he has done what he has done. No argument there. However, I wouldn't worry about feeling sorry for the devil, or thinking he's somehow a "poor thing that really doesn't understand he's doomed now" -- the Bible has many passages that show he is very well aware, as are the fallen angels, we call demons or devils, with him. All of them who saw Jesus Christ walking the earth, screamed in terror asking if He had come to throw them in the pit, or the abyss, was it time, etc.? Example: They obviously know. And if the little minions or demons know, Satan knows. Also in Revelation it says specifically that Satan gets really angry and takes his anger out on God's children BECAUSE HE KNOWS HIS TIME IS SHORT. The bold lettering is MY emphasis, not how it's written. There are more examples found in Mark 3:11, Mark 5:2-7, and Luke 4:40-41. People, however, such as the scribes, Pharisees and people did NOT know who Jesus was. Eventually the Pharisees knew, but hardened their hearts because they wanted to hold onto their power over the people and didn't want the Messiah to take away their "careers" and all the praise from people about how "great" and "religious" they were. It was pride, sort of a human version of Satan's pride. When someone knowingly does that, I don't feel sorry for them, but it is sad. I feel much sorrier for people who have been told lies about God and have walked away. Those are the ones I feel very sorry for and pray for on a regular basis. These scriptures above indicate to me that Satan knows. If it were simply a human like you and I, @other one I would be right beside you feeling bad for that human. But Satan and the angels that fell were once a holy angels who knew and SAW the glory and truth of God. Far more than us humans know this side of the veil. I am hoping this helps. If you know all this already, then I wasted your time, and apologize for misunderstanding your compassion for the devil. Perhaps if this is the case, you could elaborate and enlighten me as to what you mean.
  4. I find it sad. In fact, it makes me want to weep. I am reminded of Paul when he wrote to the Romans. Romans 10:14 New International Version 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
  5. Tell me if I'm understanding you correctly. Basically, you're telling me it might have been received better if I asked a question rather than making a statement? Since we basically agree about God being the only one to speak anything into existence, can you help me figure out how to phrase that as a question without sounding like I'm being sarcastic? I meant to make the statement. It's something that bothers me tremendously because I see it as really booting God off His throne and trying to sit there in His place. I mean, whenever I find myself doing that in little ways I stop and cringe at it, and repent. That's an easy one for any of us to do in less obvious ways. It is the obviousness of it that floors me, that Christians use this phrase without seemingly much thought. Thanks for any tip you can give me. That is always appreciated!
  6. Thank you so much. You're right! I forgot about how sometimes things online can SEEM to be rude when they really aren't. We don't get to hear tone of voice, or see faces while people are talking. It's a good reminder, and I appreciate you giving me that. Good to know that topics are not often moved here. I think most of what I write will probably end up in "general discussion" too. At least for quite a while.
  7. Thank you for the citation. I went and looked at it. I don't seem to understand this part of scripture that says "our words have the power of life and death". I could see that with a judge for sure! But I'm not a judge who can send someone to the electric chair. And so I don't really understand this strange way of looking at things. All that being said it IS in scripture. Therefore my ramblings about it are just my lack of understanding. However, from what I can tell from this article, it isn't the same as the "Word of Faith" or "little 'g' gods" doctrine which purports that we can "speak things into existence". That is what I was addressing: that we cannot "speak things into existence". To me it's a souped up version of "making a wish" and believing it will come true. That's something I did as a child. Until I realized "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride". In other words, it's nothing, just a wish and has no power. I cannot now say there is no power in our words. I just still stay back from the edge of this thought when it comes to believing somehow WE have the same power as God -- to speak things "into existence". That is my main point with this. I think that is treading on the line of being heresy, and so I am concerned about "speaking into" language.
  8. I thought it should be possible for a mod to move a topic if it's a bad fit. I have certainly seen it done in many other forums. That's why I was so shocked when, as a BRAND new member of the site and it's forums, I was only told what bad form it was for me to ask a question (a noob question at that) on a "Welcome" forum. Well, okay, but it seemed appropriate to me. Noobs tend to be clueless. I was hoping there might be either a mod who would move my question (since several made it clear they thought I had put the question in the wrong spot) or one who would just give me a bit of a break and explain to me how to make my own topic in the right place about this. Instead I got people doing their best to be "nice" or "christian" in the general sense, about it, but pretty obviously irritated at me for not - as a BRAND new person here - knowing immediately how to use this place. Someone kind explained privately that I had to have between 3 and 5 posts (or comments, as I would see it, not "posts" as in individual topics) before I could even get OFF the Welcome forum in the first place. So, do you see the convolution of this? That's why I was hoping there would be some kind of tutorial I could go study. Even an introduction to new people to the forum would be helpful. Anything you can point me to? Oh, and is pointing someone to another topic or discussion, rude or bad form? Thanks for whatever you're willing to answer.
  9. Thank you for the answer. I have another question because I see you have a logo of something others also have a logo of under their profile pictures: Interesting logo of a Lion. What does it designate? (it's in the same place as the "graduated to heaven" sign was on someone else's)
  10. Thanks. Took only 6 months. Are there no tutorials or people who can explain the layout of these forums?
  11. That's it. That's what we are asked to do. And Ephesians 6 only details what any born again in Christ believer already has. It's more like reminding us to use our faith to resist the arrows from the devil and our sword, which is the Word of God. And may I say, you used it well!
  12. As you can see, it is still unavailable. Is there someone in charge of the website itself that can help with technical issues like this one?
  13. Because I only was told on the Welcome Board that I had posted in the "wrong forum" but didn't have help from anyone (like someone moving it and pointing me to the new thread) but some just got upset that as a brand new member I couldn't tell that I should not write there, I am starting this topic. However, to be fair, I am copying all I posted over there, here. Thanks for your patience. One response I got, from a super senior member who has apparently "graduated to heaven" wrote this "helpful" comment: Wow. Okay. So, here it is December 31st, 2022, and there were nice comments which I liked and sometimes answered, but still couldn't see it getting moved anywhere. So I'm attempting, for the second time, with no help or instruction to start this topic OFF the Welcome Forum. Hope it works. Sincerely.
  14. You are bound already prior to salvation. "He who sins is a slave to sin" All people are born in sin, therefore, we all start out "bound" to this, though none of us knows this. Until.... We are saved by God in Christ Jesus. Then the ransom price Jesus paid on our behalf on the cross has purchased us or "ransomed" us from sin the devil and death. At this point one can no longer be "bound" by Satan and plundered. It doesn't seem like I would have to quote scripture to you. But if you're not sure where I get this from scripture, just let me know, and I'll be happy to look it up.
