I am an Independent. I understand about people's political passions on both sides. I would never vote liberal and I'm more conservative than most Republicans. I became an Independent this election in hopes that we the people could get more choices on the ballot and especially in favor of RFK Jr. I'm really tired of the duopoly getting all of the electoral votes. But, that's how our system is set up. So live with it I will. Not liking it; but, living with it.

WWIII starting and Americans are oblivious

Has anyone experienced the percussion of fighter jets taking off and in low to ground flight pattern? It is quite unnerving. It shakes buildings and land and goes right through you to the bone. There's no need for sirens or warnings to let you know that a catastrophic event is taking place. I have been through a couple of these events. I worked across the highway from a major air force base when Nadal Hasson shot up Ft Hood in his mass killings. It was frightening. The jets were so low that I saw them through the office window. He is still on death row years later. I don't understand why. I can't imagine what it's like to be in Ukraine, Russia, Israel, and Gaza where it's a daily occurrence. -

Maybe Trump eats lots of carrots. I remember those tanning lotions that some people used generations ago. They could still be on the market. If you can have pink or purple hair, why not orange skin?

They are trinkets for the what not cabinet. I see 2 solutions for this clutter. Leave them for our kids to sort through when we're gone or wrap them up in pretty paper and regift them.

Apparently God isn't finished with us yet or we would have been gone a long time ago. -

I'd like to see DeSantis as a Supreme Court Judge. He did work in the judicial system in DC.

Sovereignty vs Globalism. Free Enterprise vs Socialism. Notice that the argument of "slave labor" is almost always in the forefront. So far this has not worked for Dems. And Dems have no guarantee of being the controllers.

Tom Homan just announced that the era of the sanctuary cities is over. Any local or state law enforcement shall not interfere with federal authorities in regards to deportation or it will be held accountable with penalties. Any person harboring or hiding illegal immigrants will face the same. 1.4 million illegal immigrants and criminals are targeted to be deported. All other illegal immigrants should self-deport so that ICE can concentrate on criminals. Any illegal immigrant should not assume that they are safe from deportation. The announcement was covered by several major networks and media sites: Newsweek, Fox,...

I will use my family as an example of how to help migrants if it is in your heart to do so. My grandparents sponsored a family from Mexico and brought them into the US. That meant securing the paperwork for visas and green cards and paying the fees associated with the processing. My grandparents employed them and paid social security so they could later have benefits. Everyone of them became US citizens legally. That was generations ago. Not one was a disappointment or failure. Not one was a mooch or abuser of the laws and system. Employers who hire illegals because they can get cheap labor and who don't help the workers become legal are disrespectful and dishonorable. Not all workers want to be citizens of the US. Some just want to work for a season and then return to their native country. And, that is ok; but, they should be above board and legal.

Things to share about the border issue: A friend on another Jewish Christian site is retired Border Patrol. We had a good discussion on the open border/illegal immigrant problem and Trump's solution to use the military to round up and deport illegals. There was some input by another interested member, too. My first question was who was going to be in charge of round up. The Border Patrol used to have jurisdiction to go wherever there was a need to enforce immigration: border states and interior states. It is not so well defined anymore. They are assigned to patrol the border states and within 100 miles of the border and water. The National Guard has not been involved in enforcement to my knowledge. The main group in charge is I.C.E. If the military is to be used, I do not know which branch it will be or if a new one will be created. The liberal media is fearmongering that more than illegals and criminal illegals would be deported. The best way to protect legals is to always carry their visas and/or green cards or passports as they are instructed to do. We are all told to do that when travelling to a foreign country. Will there be counterfeiting of documents? More than likely just like counterfeit money. So measures must be taken to encrypt said documents. These procedures serve to protect citizens and those who are here legally. If someone wants to help a person or persons immigrate, there are sponsorships and steps for that. But, being a vocal bleeding heart is not going to accomplish anything. And government opening the border without requiring proper processing makes a person illegal and criminal. Government officials who bypass the laws should also be charged with dereliction of duty IMO.

Thanks, I have some refreshing to do here and in the Word.

What's Your Favorite Bible Commentary?
In the Clouds replied to Katie Rose Müller's topic in General Discussion
I do use Matthew Henry and Halley's Bible Handbook on occasion. I like Spurgeon but he is a little longwinded. I use New Advent, too, even though I'm not Catholic . My favorite study is methodology with Gesenius for Hebrew and Thayer for Greek. -
What's Your Favorite Bible Commentary?

Commentaries can be interesting. My preference for study is methodology of translating scripture to the Hebrew and Greek. Have you ever done that? You can get a multilevel understanding of the Bible. -
When the Lord wants you He WILL have you!

I have always believed in the literal Bible unless it specifically states, *This is a parable or metaphor. In prophetic scripture translations don't always have a way to describe it or teach with their understanding. But I believe and understand the Word to be true. And as truth is revealed we understand Him.

I can so relate to that. We should go about the Great Commission by sharing and not lecturing. I have an older relative who would seek me out and say I want what you have. She would ask me questions about the Bible and the Lord. I shared scripture and prayer and inevitably she would turn on me yelling. I never preached or lectured her. She just wasn't ready yet; but, was getting the call to draw close to the Lord by the Holy Spirit. She didn't understand it; I could see the coming transformation. One day she called me and said, "I understand now." Praise God! I remember what my pastor said years ago, "There are no throw aways." It may be that we are just commissioned to plant the seeds. It may be that we don't see the transformation. But, just as He has planned and willed, we supply the seed. The Holy Spirit starts the burning desire and guides the way. Amen! Amen!
