  1. Wondering if you could bring a note from your own pastor (notarized, perhaps) stating that you had attended services at your regular church for the morning in question?
  2. Spot on, neb! I'll wait till tomorrow to give the remaining two names, in case someone else wants to identify them. Meanwhile, we need a new quiz question. Anyone?
  3. Ok, new question: What man in the Old Testament (name him) had two wives (name them) and a famous son (name him) who anointed two kings (name them)?
  4. Daniel's three friends, eh? Let's see... I think they're Hananiah... Mishael... and Azariah? And now I'm going to have to look it up, since I'm not at all sure.
  5. Since Blien left it open for new quiz questions, here's mine: Who was Eutychus?
  6. Herod's wife did ask for the head of John the Baptist on a platter (or at least got her daughter to do the asking), but it was Pilate's wife who was troubled by dreams and asked Pilate to have nothing to do with executing Jesus.
  7. Off the top of my head, not looking anything up (that's the rule for this thread, right?), I'd say it's either Jeremiah or Ezekiel... ...and the more I think about it, the more I think it's Ezekiel.
  8. Yes, I really knew it was Lot. This is how a Levirate marriage came about. A man got married, but died before he and his wife had any children. The dead man's brother, according to the Law, was to marry the widow and the first child they had would be the heir of the dead man. The marriage of Boaz and Ruth is an example of a Levirate marriage.
  9. If they don't wake up, how do you know they had this kind of dream? I was wondering that as well.
  10. Btw, this brings to mind a variety show sketch I saw lo these many years ago - I think the host of the show was Steve Martin, and the sketch was about an advertising campaign for a brand-new soft drink: OKRA-COLA!
  11. Sounds like Lamentations to me.
  12. I knew the answer was Lot, but you didn't wait long enough for me to be online to answer it.
  13. One article I read about this said that the restaurant whose awning the child bounced off was closed for the holiday, but they hadn't been able to close the awning because the mechanism was broken - so the awning was left open...
  14. My middle son can raise his arm and wrap it around his head far enough to grab his chin. Most of my kids are hyperflexible like that.
  15. Hello, people - Rocky & Bullwinkle! Can't believe nobody mentioned that!
  16. My parents had a cat back when I was a teen that they had declawed. The vet only declawed the cat's front paws. We had to keep her inside since she couldn't climb trees to get away from dogs, although we did take her out at times. She still managed to catch birds now and again! Even after she was declawed, she would still stretch out her front paws and 'sharpened' them on the furniture. Made a popping sound when she did it on the edge of the sofa arm, but didn't damage the sofa.
  17. Perhaps they should block shut the mail slot and hang a mailbox outside the door?
  18. I'm thinking John saw it in heaven during his vision recorded in the Book of Revelation.
  19. Jereboam (I) of Israel.
