  1. You're welcome, my friend. Yes, we ought not to quarrel amongst ourselves. It pains us greatly, and I'm sure it brings great pain our LORD. I sure don't want that! Have a great evening. Homeward
  2. Welcome to Worthy! This is a really great place for fellowship. Glad you've come aboard!
  3. Tim, I agree. It was with great trepidation that I posted on this thread. I truly hate divisiveness in the body of Christ... Sorry, you lost a good friend.
  4. Raven, my NIV is "gone with the wind" also... Reading it blessed me for years and years, but some things, which I'm too tired to go into right now, bothered me so I too, stopped reading it. OK, I'll type out one verse as an example... The way Isaiah 14:12 is translated in the NIV realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly bothers me, as Satan is referred to as the same name as Jesus. Morning Star. In the New King James, King James, and a few others He is not. NKJV How you are fallen from heaven, O lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! NIV How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations. Now, Jesus calls Himself the Bright and Morning Star in Revalation 22:16 I, Jesus have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star. When Jesus says "I am.....", I pay really good attention to what he is calling Himself.
  5. Thanks, Dear, for this post. Reading it, was, and is, a blessing to me. I'd say more, but I'm too tired... So thanks again, and God Bless.
  6. New King James Version, and King James Version, here. Giant Print, of course. Seriously, I've compared a lot of versions, and read a multitude of opinions on the different versions, and decided these were the best for me. Blessings to you! I'm praying that you find the one He has especially for you. In His Wonderful Name, Love, Homeward
  7. Truly there is a famine of the Lord GOD's word, today. The average Joe and Jane, bustling about on a day to day basis, then plunking down spiritually exhausted, hungry, and thirsty, in front of their television screen, looking for refreshment, will be prone to attempt drinking from a dry well, and eating food that does not enrich the body.
  8. The subject of this thread reminds me of Amos 8:11,12 (11) Behold, the days are coming, "says the Lord GOD," That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD. (12) They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, But shall not find it.
  9. Excellent post, John!!! It sure reached out and grabbed me. Thank you so much, brother. Ah, and as to the late Pastor Ray Steadman...Trust and Obey...you are so right! His messages have blessed me a multitude of times.

  12. Growing up, I only attended public schools. Yes, those 'way back in the day' times ...as my youngest daughter is fond of ribbing me about. Anyway, in the 2nd grade, my family moved to a new area in California. At this new shool, I remember being shocked by all the students being reminded to stop and pray right before lunchtimes. What does this mean...I wondered. And I remember one little girl explaining to me why she was praying. Jesus. The sweetness of it still remains... Oh, back in the day....
  13. There is no greater love, indeed! Thanks Super Jew!

  23. Back in the early 80's when I first became a Christian, the Pre-Trib Rapture was the only view of it I ever heard. I got a Bible and read it from front to back. The more I read through it the more it sounded like we were going to go through The Tribulation to me. For years I thought, "Wow, am I the only one seeing this scenario?" It was a lonely view, but I still believed it to quite probably be true. It has just been lately that I've seen others think and say that they believe the saints will go through the Tribulation in Revelation, too. Again, I have long held this view, but I keep in mind that no man knows the day or the hour of His Coming. And whatever our bretheren's view is about the time of Christ's Return, we should not be argumentative or divisive in the body of Christ. The way things are stackin' up, it might not be too long before we'll *all* be findin' out the answer. By all I mean Pre, Mid, Post, No Rapture, believers. It behoves us all to be ready at all times 'cause surely He told us so. Love and Blessings, Homeward
  24. Amen. I have been praying for the Saints, myself included, on Worthy to be kind to one another, and to all who visit here. Cats this is very timely and an answer to prayer, indeed. Thank you so much, dear. Love and kindness to you all. Homeward
