RED FLAG...PUT IT IN WRITING. Prepare a letter stating that on such date you had informed your supervisor of your resignation thus providing a two week notice making your last day of employment effective ____________. You sign it and have your immediate supervisor sign it. Get a COPY. God Bless, K.D.

As the Higher-up, I have never felt upset if an employee can find a better opportunity. God has his plan for everyone, who am I to get in his way. However, I do expect them to give the company no more or less than what they had agreed upon, namely, a two-week notice and their best efforts to the end. If this is given I always consider it a privilege to have been able to work with the person. If you have given to the company all that was agreed upon then you have no further obligation to them, you have fulfilled it. Consult with God first and then take the opportunities He gives you. This idea of Radical amputation is one I think many have a hard time with. In many places the Bible also tells us to run away from, flee from sin. God knows that temptations are real, and the lust of the flesh is real. Thank goodness he also tells us how to handle them; feast on his word daily, and Flee from sin. Notice he doesn't say it ok now that I am with you don't worry about it you wont be tempted any more. No, Quite the opposite. It is our own pride that says," I can stare temptation in the face and it will not touch me" HA, What a Farce. You know sometimes we like our little stumbling blocks, and if we Radically amputate them, get rid of all possibility of it, we can't turn back to them. Now looking at something like drug addiction this is very easy to understand. If we quit the addiction but keep the drug around, keep the suppliers around, ets. How long will we stay free? But lets apply it to something less obvious. Lets say when ever "you" get together with a certain friend it always turns into a gossip session. Are you willing to radically amputate that relationship? Flee from it completely so that there is no possibility of falling back into it. But you know we kind of like our little gossip sessions, and they are a good friend, and we could agree together to not do it, and ,and ,and Radical amputation, not such an easy thing. Rita is now a category 2 hurricane. This thing is blowing up quick. K.D.

And here's what my first concern was, too: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This would be an absolute disaster, If they rejected the new face they would have no options but to suffer the rejection until they died. How horrifying. God Bless, K.D.

Rita was just upgraded to a category 1 hurricane. By the forecasters account this was not supposed to happen for another day. Rita is getting stronger faster than they predicted. According to the models it was only supposed to reach a category 2 when it strikes land, most likely in Texas. But once again the hurricane seems to have its own agenda, and it is not what the forecasters are predicting. K.D.
-
Has anyone noticed that Rita is acting just like Katrina did. Just a tropical storm, barely hits hurricane strength just as it clips Florida......What will it do when it reaches the Gulf? Keeping an eye on this one. K.D.

I think it is just all this particular article is addressing. Honestly I am not sure what the entire official response has been for those already in the churches. But cleaning up the seminaries is a much needed step. I know of two men who started in the seminary and left in a large part because of this issue. One is now a teacher and the other one is a state politician. Depending on the national races we may see him in Washington. K.D.

I think this is where two different conclusions are being made. You are concluding that this person was never saved in the first place, but that is not necessarily the only conclusion. Just as likely is that this person did accept the Grace of God, and at that moment was living in the Grace of God. If he/she would have died at that moment they would be in heaven. However if they do not nurture their faith, feist in the word of God, continue to "work out their salvation" They will lose it, because it will wither and die. This can be seen as a very strong argument that one must continue to work out ones salvation or it will wither and die. God Bless, Kansas Dad Pax, it can't be both ways. It has to be one way or the other. Did not Jesus's Parable fo the Sower clearly show that 2 of the soils give a false impression of a successful crop, but time reveals that the soil was either rocky or thorny and thus the seed didn't take proper root? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pax didn't write that. I agree it is either one interpretation or the other, they do not co-exist. The seed did take root and it did sprout but the soil was not maintained. To have good soil you have to not only prepare it right but you have to maintain it through out the growing process. fertilizer, weed killers, water etc. The seed started to grow but then withered and died. How do we maintain good soil. We do it by Feasting on the word of God. By doing as God commands us to do. this is how we work out our salvation. Again I see this as a strong argument for showing that it is something we can have but we can also let it die. God Bless, Kansas Dad

I need advice on my marriage
Kansasdad replied to Honey's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
I am not trying to be harsh but agoraphobia is an irrational fear, You seem to be upset with your husband because he is not changing his behavior because of your irrational fear. Your irrational fear is controlling you and you want it to control him as well. It seems that you are upset because he is not allowing your fears to control him. Now this is not to say your husband has handled the issue well or not, I don't know that information. But you can't change your husband. You can only, with Gods help, change yourself. Work on the agoraphobia, and I know this is not a simple issue, but it is the root of the problem. God Bless you and your marriage. Kansas Dad -
Hi Kahlan! You are so in our prayers, Hope you are doing well. Your strength has been amazing! God Bless, Kansas Dad

Catholic probe to look at gays in seminaries: NY Times 2 hours, 6 minutes ago Catholic Church investigators tasked by the Vatican to review U.S. seminaries will be looking for "evidence of homosexuality" and for professors who dissent from Church teaching, the New York Times reported on Thursday. The newspaper said a Vatican document prepared to guide the process and given to The New York Times by a priest, surfaces as Catholics await a Vatican ruling on whether homosexuals should be barred from the priesthood. American seminaries are under review as a result of the sexual abuse scandal that swept the priesthood in 2002, the year the probe which is now starting was announced. In a possible hint of the ruling's contents, the American archbishop supervising the seminary review said "anyone who has engaged in homosexual activity or has strong homosexual inclinations," should not be admitted to a seminary. The Times said Edwin O'Brien, archbishop for the United States military who is supervising the seminary review, told The National Catholic Register that the restriction should apply even to those who have not been sexually active for a decade or more. O'Brien was once the rector of the North American College, a seminary for Americans studying in Rome and has familiarity with both the Vatican and the U.S. Church. The issue has been in the spotlight because a study commissioned by the Church found last year that about 80 percent of the young people victimized by priests were boys. The seminary review, called an apostolic visitation, will send teams of American Church officials to the 229 seminaries, which have more than 4,500 students. At each seminary, the visitors will conduct confidential interviews with faculty members and seminarians, plus everyone who graduated in the last three years, the Times said. A document with instructions for the review is being distributed to seminarians and faculty members. It asks whether the doctrine on the priesthood presented by the seminary is "solidly based on the church's Magisterium," or teaching, and whether teachers and seminarians "accept this teaching." The Times said among the other questions in the lengthy questionnaire are: "Is there a clear process for removing from the seminary faculty members who dissent from the authoritative teaching of the church or whose conduct does not provide good example to future priests?" "Is the seminary free from the influences of New Age and eclectic spirituality?" "Do the seminarians or faculty members have concerns about the moral life of those living in the institution? (This question must be answered)." "Is there evidence of homosexuality in the seminary? (This question must be answered)." The questionnaire also asks whether faculty members "watch out for signs of particular friendships," the newspaper said. Satan has attacked the Catholic church many many times in its history. I think one of his most devastating attacks has been the hidden gay issue within the Priesthood. It is fortunate that it has come to light yet tragic in the discovery. However, it is refreshing to see a church (albeit far far later than it should have) dealing with the gay issue as God has ordained as apposed to giving in to the latest social pressure as some churches have. It is a cleansing step in the right direction. Gods hand is definitely at work. God Bless, Kansas Dad

I am in no way am trying to argue Tess, you have asked this many times before. I believe that yes salvation is Gods to give, and we will never be "good enough" to deserve it. It is only because of his Grace that we can receive it at all. However, we do play a role in the process, We do have to open the door and let him in. God does not force it upon us. God offers it, because he paid the price through the blood of Jesus, but we are free to reject it. God does allow us to make stupid decisions. So my answer is, it is ours to accept and it is ours to reject. Again this is what I believe, I know you believe differently, and that is fine, as I told EricH I will meet him in heaven and we can answer the debate there, and as Eric and I will probable get there ahead of you ( although you never know) We will let you know when you arrive God Bless you sister in Christ. Great question Tess- was it rhetorical ? I'll answer it anyway- from scripture none the less Revelation 7:9-12 9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice: " Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb. " 11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!" That answers it for me! God bless, Tim <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Side track: What are the four living creatures? KD. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...and before the throne there was, as it were, a sea of glass like crystal; and in center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. And the first the creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, "Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come." Revelation 4:6-8 NASB My take is that they are angelic creatures <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What is the context of this vision, Do you see any significance in their descriptions, and the word "living" Creatures seems to seperate them in some way from the other creatures. Would Angelic creatures be "Living" Creatures, why the destinction? And does it really mean that they drone on and on, or is there more to it than that? God Bless, Kansas Dad

So? What do origins have to do with anything? Who created all things? What makes one day more evil/holy than the next? Is God not Redeemer? Do you use a calendar? Scripture reference? It's legalistic to dictate what is and is not sin for others if it is not explicitly stated in Scripture. Unless you can find a Scripture that states we are not to participate, then it is a matter of personal conviction and you should leave the convicting up to the Holy Spirit. Now, if you have a personal conviction about it and choose not to participate, wonderful....that's between you and God. But if other believers have prayed and feel no such conviction, they should not receive condemnation for choosing to participate. Scripture reference? Have you read Romans 14? May I ask if you refrain from these holidays because of a personal conviction about them or if it's because you were taught that they were evil due to their "pagan origins"? If it's a personal conviction why are you forcing it on others? If it's something you were taught, why are you following someone else's conviction and not your own? What Scriptural support did those who taught you this use to back up this teaching? Chick tracts? Until it is biblically proven that it is sin or "against his truth", it should not be labeled rebellion. In fact, it's extremely dangerous for you to judge another person's heart regarding matters like this (i.e calling those who participate as being rebellious). Assuming you know another person's heart attitude is like pretending to be the Holy Spirit. That's something I'd consider being rebellious and disobedient. Let the Holy Spirit do His own job. Oh yay, the ever popular WWJD argument. How can you definitively claim that Christ would not do something if you are not Christ? First of all, Scripture seems to indicate Christ placed human relationships and a person's spiritual condition above cultural/religious stigmas and "taboos". He broke barriers by placing Himself in situations and places where He would come in contact with the people who needed Him the most. He was seen interacting with "sinners" so frequently that He was mistakenly accused of being a sinner Himself. Although He never sinned, the very fact that He was accused of such is a good indicator that He was around things that religious people considered wrong. If I was going to take a guess on how Christ would handle the Holidays (judging by the record in Scripture of His behavior), I believe He would not be condemning people (John 3:17) and I believe He would be wherever the people would be. What better opportunity to love on people than when they are coming to your own front door? This doesn't mean preach to them, it means love on them. Show them the love of Christ inside of you. That is what Jesus would do. When He encountered the woman at the well: 1) He was breaking cultural/religious barriers by even being in that area 2) He was breaking cultural/religious barriers by approaching/interacting with a woman 3) He did not condemn her, He showed her lovingkindness. She came for water, He changed her life. When children come to our doors for candy, why can't we use this opportunity to express the love of Christ that can change their lives? Lastly, for those who are adamantly opposed to Halloween let me ask you this: 1. Do you celebrate birthdays of family members and friends? If so, how is that different than participating in any other holiday? 2. Paul states in Romans 14 that we are free to eat meat, even meat that was once used in sacrifice to idols. If we are free to consume (absorb into our temple) something that was originated (or used) for evil, why can we not participate in a day/event that originated as something "pagan"? If, in our hearts, we are not observing anything evil...how can it be called sin? Isn't it the heart's intent that matters? 3. In Genesis 50:20, Joseph shows us how God took something that the enemy meant for evil and He redeemed it. God used it for good. Why can't this concept be applied to other areas of our lives? Even if something was originally intended for something evil or anti-God, why can't we take that very thing and use it for God's glory? 4. What is more important: A) showing the world that you don't participate in Halloween (i.e. that you are "separate") or B) showing the world love and grace. Because honestly, alot of times it cannot be both. Sometimes in our pursuit to be "separate" we inadvertantly alienate the very people we're here to reach. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very Good reply Tess WOW did I say that, God Bless, Kansas Dad
