  1. I'm not on Facebook either. Haven't checked it re the Eagles. I mainly read the update stories on the website for Friends of Big Bear Valley. Does Facebook have a link you can post?
  2. They are saying egg number one is not viable. But there is still hope for egg two and three.
  3. Just checked and the Eagle is partly snow covered. Snow flurries are slowly coming down.
  4. On our news tonight they showed Shadow defending the nest. A raven was flying overhead and Shadow spread out his wings protecting the nest. He was sitting on the nest. Then he got up and looked at the eggs and then sat down again.
  5. No, this isn't typical. There are atmospheric rivers coming in recently to cause all of the rain in the lower elevation....and snow in the mountains. Alot of times the ski resorts have to make snow with machines. And usually here in Southern California which includes Los Angeles, we get very little rain. And weather is either warm or sometimes hot.
  6. https://www.friendsofbigbearvalley.org Saw a lady on our news who first saw Jackie when she was a chick or young Eagle. She said the nest is five and a half feet wide and six feet deep!
  7. Yes, nothing last year. But the previous year, there was Spirit. LadyPearTree and I watched him from egg hatch to flying away. Here is Spirit...
  8. I am up late so mostly see them sleeping as well. But I usually try to get on my tablet for a little while around noon. The tree is calmer now and Jackie is sleeping. https://www.friendsofbigbearvalley.org/
  9. A few minutes ago Jackie stood slightly and then wiggled herself back onto the eggs. There are snow flurries and the tree is rocking and rolling quite a bit. A couple of big raindrops got on the lens but rolled off. We had a good steady rain overnight. It's still cloudy but it stopped for now. Oh, I think I hear a few drops again. https://www.friendsofbigbearvalley.org
  10. It's actually happening....not a joke. Sad state of affairs.... teacher defends pupil who identifies as a cat...
  11. Yes, I understand. The rescue couple also have a three legged cat and shown on the video, a two legged cat. They are really kind hearted.
  12. Thankfully the disabled kitten was taken home by the Moroccan couple after a vet visit. @JohnD @ladypeartree
  13. And the mother going along with it....so crazy.
  14. It always amazes me at the amount of time this couple spends caring for the stray cats. I wonder if they have regular jobs, too. They do have three YouTube channels....I guess one channel isn't enough for all of the videos. They are also building a small shelter. When I used to feed about 12 stray cats years ago, I just had to go downstairs to feed them. But it was always an effort, every night for many years. I'd go down very late at night. The cats would all be waiting for me under the parked cars out front.
  15. Just when you think the world can't get crazier...
  16. I wonder if they feel like they are being watched!
  17. Mama cat and her little kittens snug in their wooden house. Morocco caregivers. They change the blankets in the various houses for the cats. @ladypeartree @JohnD
  18. I think I saw that mini tree when she first had it in her beak. It was kind of like a fir tree shape without any greenery on it.
  19. Sightings recently in Sierra Madre and Monrovia.... communities adjacent to Los Angeles. @ladypeartree
  20. San Diego is being flooded with illegal migrants, too.
  21. Yes, it's currently raining very slightly here in The Basin. Tomorrow and Wednesday should be clear. Some rain coming on the weekend but probably not too heavy. Workers showed up last Thursday and have been working each day since. I don't understand it. They are patching the outside of our big building and will paint it. Why do that now when it's either damp or even raining? The rest of the year it's dry and sunny. That's Los Angeles workers.... including the apartment management company. I told the manager today that those workers threw water to try to wash the residue down the patio drains. Can you imagine clogging up the drains...the patio apartments will get flooded in a heavy rain. She said they didn't even tell her that the workers were coming to paint the building.
  22. When I posted the above photos, Shadow was busy fiddling with the sticks. Amazing how the animal kingdom is so dedicated to their young.
  23. Putin is former KGB. So that probably accounts for his stare. Dangerous people.
