  1. Hey kate I'm Karen Jo I live in south Mississippi I have been married to a pretty good feller for 18 years I have 5 children ages 26..24..21..20..14 all are girls except the oldest. Mine, his and ours actually but I raised my step-daughters so I claim 'em as mine I love animals and have a bunch of them too. God's Blessings to you
  2. My husband ownes 2 shotguns and 1 rifle.I have a 4-10 shotgun, they are nice to kill rabbits and squirrels for my husbands mother, she loves to cook them. They are also nice for the rattlers and moccosins we have here in the woods. We go down to the pond and target practice for fun too. They will also come in real handy up in these dark woods if someone ever breaks into my house with the intention of harming someone.I would not feel as safe if we didn't have them. I agree it would be a big mistake to take guns away from the honest people. Then we would for sure be at the mercy of the other part of the population that are gonna do what they are gonna do regardless of the laws. Laws don't matter to them or they wouldn't be out robbing, raping, and murdering people.
  3. Just another way Satan uses evil in the world to try to destroy the witness and truth of Christianity.
  4. We had a Pastor once that was a really laid back fellow. He said you should be careful about asking God to teach you patience. You had better really want to learn He said that when he was a younger man he was very impulsive and impatient and was driving his wife and kids crazy with it so he began praying earnestly for patience. He said that it seemed like everything in his life slowed down. He couldn't get any thing done, he was forever having to wait on somebody or something, this went on for quite a long while. But he learned patience. It was a lesson he was glad he had learned but the lesson was one of the hardest of his life
  5. God Bless our Men and Women of the U.S Army,Navy,Airforce, and Marine Corp. Amen
  6. I believe I understand what you are trying to say. And I think having your own madeup word to praise God would be fine with Him if it is done in complete sincerity and love for him. I know God hears our words but also our thoughts so however you praise and worship the Lord is between you and Him.He knows what we are saying no matter the words. I believe that the Lord experienced laughter and joy while here on earth for sure.Although his purpose was the most serious and somber that has ever been, He still had earthly family and friends,he was at gatherings with these people I don't believe he sat around frowning all the time. I just find it hard to believe that in all the walking and preaching with the disciples that they never came aross anything that brought a smile to his face or a chuckle to his heart. He had a message and a terrible purpose but joy in his heart knowing the souls that would be saved due to his sacrifice.
  7. I am in agreement with the others in this. The Holy Spirit will tell us what is a sin and what isn't if we will listen. Just because it is not specificly named doesn't mean it is not a sin.
  8. I think it would be great..I would try to be there
  9. I agree also LadyG. We all love the same God.Just because I worship differently or interpet something in God's word differently shouldn't open me up to attacks from fellow Christians. Points can be made without sarcasm and hatefulness. If you believe someone is wrong and feel led to comment on it respect for the person you are speaking to goes a lot further than disrespect.I am willing to learn new ways of looking at things. . There are some topics I don't post in for these reasons. I guess I am still trying to grow my thick skin. I can get my feelings hurt pretty easily and instead of sulking away I tend to try to strike back. The Lord and I are working on this problem in my life as we speak. Better to avoid those posts where I think this may happen. I have learned a lot on these boards and feel blessed to be a part I love ya Lady G
  10. I am most definately, absolutely, no doubt a creature of habit
  11. I know Him and He knows me
  12. I believe that too. And I also take it to mean making promises to God that we know we can't keep, or trying to make a deal with God so to speak.
  13. Thank you for the post. I dearly love and respect all our servicemen and women, past and present. My Daddy was a highly decorated vet of WWII. Purple Heart,Silver Star,Bronze Star, and I think it is 2 oak leaf clusters. My brother was in the Navy..My brother-in-law in the Air Force and my son has been in the Army National Guard for 8 years. He hasn't been deployed as of yet but as we all know he could be at any time.He says he is more than ready to go if called, which both terrifies and makes me so very proud as a mother, all at the same time. God bless and protect them all
  14. Only once have JW found my house where I live now,in the middle of the woods.Yes I did invite them in,they seemed to be in a hurry and just wanted to leave their tracts with me. When I used to live closer to town there were a couple of ladies that came by once a week for about 6 months and we had some interesting discussions. They always had their little Bibles and I had mine.I took these times for me to witness to them about their beliefs that contradict the Bible, the biggest one I remember being on the existance of hell. One day they just stopped coming Guess they figured out I was not going to drop my beliefs and embrace theirs.
  15. I agree with some of the others that some were hard to answer.Yes or no was hard to decide in some instances. Welcome to Worthy
  16. I think we should always remember and mourn. The families of those who died want us always to remember.I didn't know anyone who died that day but I try to keep it alive in my heart and mind. I would watch the footage of the disasters every day if it was on T.V.Because if we don't remember we will fall into complacency, a very dangerous place to be these days.
  17. Yes I believe we should ask God for help in all aspects of our lives. I will pray for you to meet a Christian woman and enjoy all the blessings that will follow.
  18. My thoughts and prayers remain with those families and friends of the victims of 9-11 God bless them all and I pray as a nation we never forget that day. All the courage of the people inside the towers, the passengers of the flight that went down in Pa.,rescuers who managed to save as many lives as they did will be forever heros in my mind. Remember the soul-wrenching sadness, and the absolute outrage and anger felt by all that day so that we will be ever watchful to try to make sure it doesn't happen again.
  19. I too am a smoker. I started during my rebellious years when I was about 16 yrs old.So that adds up to...29 years WOW! I have to tell you when people tell me to quit all it does is make me want a cigarette Yes, I know I should quit and God bless you folks who never have caught the habit. I quit smoking pot about 8 years ago....no problem, quit drinking 12 years ago....no problem.I have heard about studies that say nicotine is more addictive than heroin and I believe it. I have prayed for God to take the wanting out of my mind and body but so far I am still smoking.I don't know how to even begin. It bothers me too, that most of the people I have ever known who have quit, say they never stop wanting a cigarette no matter how long they have been quit.
  20. I will wear slacks to church on occasion.I only wear make-up when I go to town, church, and I used to wear it most days when I worked outside the home. My husband laughs about the fact he doesn't have to spend much on clothes for me.My home attire is sweat pants and t-shirts in the winter and those same sweat pants, cut off to be shorts in the summer with t-shirts I get new sweats every winter!!! I do seriously have other clothes but at home I'm strictly a comfort gal
  21. I look at this a little different. I don't vote on which candidate claims to be a Christian or who lives the most pious life. I vote based on how they will vote as my Representative. If they are pro-life, they will get my vote if the person is an atheist over a liberal Democrat who claims to be Christian but supports abortion. There are a lot of people that claim to be Christian, but their votes reflect otherwise. Then there are people that have no religious affiliation, but will vote for issues that reflect Christian morals. I don't look to see if they had some 30 year old DUI as the standard of them deserving my vote, or if they got caught saying a swear word. I look at how they govern. That is what will impact the country. This is what I meant Butero not that I investigated whether they had ever been in jail, but their political past, votes etc.
