  1. I don't see this as unworthy of worthy news-a good news source reports it all, even the stuff we don't like, think is stupid, or downright against what we believe-as well as the stuff we like, and should do so equally, and let us discern what is good and whats not.
  2. Now, I hate to be the doomsday prophet here, I already said I think these hearings are a good thing-and I still hold that and I think they need to happen and I hope action comes. However, just to play prophet here, If it starts looking bad for Obama, I see them claiming this is the republican party conspiring against him because they were sore losers-which could go in both his favor, and the democrats favor for the next election regardless of outcome-and even if he is found guilty, and thrown out of office, Im not convinced we would be any better off with Biden. It maybe that with Obama gone, Biden would lose his credibility-but its just as possible-especially if they twist the media just right to make obama to look like the victim of republican foul play, that he would become just as much, if not more so, of a problem then Obama is now. So in reality, Im not sure it would leave us in much of a better spot-but all the same I would like to see the hearings proceed and see Obama impeached, if nothing else it would show that maybe there is a flicker of hope for america after all.
  3. He was allowed to resign, yes, but the point is he was still out of office, so your argument that nothing was done is moot-something was done, whether it was a forced resignation, or something else. I would be happy with that with obama-as long as hes gone I could care less. So, the fact is something was done-period. And the fact remains, hearing or no, at least someone is standing up to the man-the whistleblowers are standing up even after being threatened, they are having the hearing. the hearing itself regardless of outcome is a good thing in my mind-and this is a lot bigger, then clinton sleeping with his secretary-no one got killed there.
  4. interesting. . .a case of mass neglect on the part of the railroad sure, but asking outside the case how to deal with it? nah. Though, fining them 500,000, and having them make the company do 10,000 hours of cleanup-and paying those employees for that cleanup, does seem reasonable. I mean, that in itself is a huge fine, whoever the employees are, theyre out cleaning the environment-and not making money for the railroad, that would be a huge fine in itself.
  5. actually, history does not val. . .I do believe they did something about Nixon. Anyone who says such proceedings are a waste of time arn't paying attention to history. Even if Obama comes out the winner, its not a waste of time-it means someone, is willing to stand up and say this is wrong-and even if they lose, thats a good thing-we are always to stand for whats right, even if it seems an uphill battle.
  6. hmmmmmmm not much debate that much is pretty obvious. . .
  7. because they don't bow over and agree with everything Obama says-anyone who disagrees, must be racist, right? lol. No, your right both parties have their weaknesses, and in all honesty, republicans have a habit of demonizing democrats to-think about it, republicans are all racists, and democrats are all socialists and commies. Our whole political system isn't vote me because im the better qualified-its vote for me because theyre a bunch of evildoers that are out to destroy america.
  8. Hehe, now that's comedy! Quick, make a video! I am really starting to worry about our sister here .... Well, we are in the video section, so I thought I'd just make it all official... legalist now whos not being nice. I JUST WAS PLAYING So was I, but weve already established I don't play nice, so why act so surprised? maybe zion will give you a tissue.
  9. the cat is unimpressed
  10. Yes its a gift. And God will never turn his back on us. But on the other side of the equation when a person on this planet gives you a gift you can take it but throw it back in their face later. So the question is can you, after accepting the gift choose to throw it back in Gods face later? That wouldn't be God going back on His promise after all-it would be you. Food for thought.
  11. I would suspect that such a quote is one of many Christian urban legends. Do you have a reference for where he supposedly said this? I think your right I can't find it myself. Least not on google
  12. while I see your point omega, I still say it goes back to us. The only reason the government took over the role, is because we allowed it to. The church wasnt filling all the needs, and the people wanted handouts, so the government stepped in.

  14. Love their time table, looks more like a shot in the dark and possible stretching of it, but ya, just more evidence the Bible is accurate.
  15. Honestly, thats a tough question nin. I think a lot depends on the person, in all honesty, we do need to show Christs love in everything we do, Christs love first, I think we can agree with that, but the methods, may change. Some people are really hurting, and often, just showing them Gods love through you, is enough to get them turned around to the gospel, Ive seen this, but some people, especially if theyre more scientific minded, need to be shown the science-Ive seen this first hand, my dad has a friend, who was a geologist/engineer, firm believer in evolution, college degree, etc, which was also the main reason he didn't believe in God-and my dad took him alongside, befriended him, and over time, showed him the science-of how it worked with the Bible, how evolution was wrong, and that man is now a firm believer in Christ, as well as a young earth creationist. Complete turn around. I think, showing love and friendship, in the way Christ was, is number 1. You can't just smash someone over the head with facts, and expect them to come to Christ, it just doesn't work that way, (not usually) but facts, can be a very useful tool, when used with love and wisdom. And sometimes, Ive seen this two, where a creation scientist and a evolutionary scientist will enter a formal debate, and while neither will convince the other, people watching are affected and seeds are planted, and when asked, a christian should at least be knowledgeable about the topic-because like as already stated, genesis is probably the most controversial book in the Bible-we as christians should really know what it says, and be able to defend it, not all people need the science, but some people do. Wisdom, is the better part of valor, and witnessing-most of us arnt Billy Graham-we don't get in front of 500,000 people and say a few words and have half them come forward, our best tool is to create a relationship with the people we are witnessing to, and with Gods help, learn how to witness to that individual person, to answer their questions and meet their individual needs.
  16. No. soccer is soccer and football is football. Just no one figured it out till the americans did
  17. well, baseball, golf, I get the two confused. neither are what I would call sports, they both involve men hitting small balls with big sticks. The only difference is, in at least baseball they have to run after hitting it. And Rugby, is not football. Just sayin.
  18. the rest of the world, doesn't understand what real football is, so the US is the only country in the world with real football As far as the world series, golfs not a real sport, so we all know that its fake.
  19. you know, the powers that be, figured this out a long time ago. You don't have to discredit Jesus-to get people to get away from Him, you need to discredit Genesis. It is, in reality, the cornerstone (besides Jesus) of the Bible-everything, and I mean everything including the very reason we need a savior, goes back to Genesis. If you can discredit that, then it discredits the entire rest of the Bible. Hence, why the Bible was taken out of schools-and evolution put back in, because they knew, that the theory (its actually a hypothesis but thats another topic) was totally incompatible with the Bible. From there, it was hammer the evolution story into the childs head 5 days a week, after that who cars if their parents brought them to church-theyd get 1, maybe 2 hours of church, vs how much of school? sooner or later, kids will start believing that evolution is true, and chances are they will then see that the creation account is incompatible, so it must not be true-and if you cant trust Genesis, you can't trust the rest of the Bible. Don't get me wrong. Im not saying that if you believe in evolution or millions of years, that your not a christian, its not a "salvation" issue, I know many good, solid, firm believers, including on these boards, that I hold in high regard and have a lot of respect for. Im saying, that this is a HUGE stumbling block for many, and has led many astray, and it really shouldn't-the science does not support evolution if you take a good, honest look at it.
  20. I didn't say I wouldnt smack you back. If I just took the smackdown without going all redneck, then that would be an example of me being nice, which is what you smacked me for in the first place. . .
  21. Moss contends that when Christians were executed, it was often not because of their religious beliefs but because they wouldn't follow Roman rules. Many laws that led to early Christians’ execution were not specifically targeted at them—such as a law requiring all Roman citizens to engage in a public sacrifice to the gods—but their refusal to observe those laws and other mores of Roman society led to their deaths Yes. They wouldnt do those things, because they were christians, and it was against their religion. Don't have to have a PHD to tell this professor to put a helmet on, because moss just contradicted himself in the exact same article he wrote.
  22. cheating in sports, absolutly not. When it comes to war however. . .
  23. first off, a coyote at 50 yards with a BB gun, is your evidence that .40 is high power? Im sorry, but even if that did happen (which Im skeptical) it would of had to have been a fluke-about the only way to take down a coyote at that range would be a shot to the eye. If he did it on a regular basis, maybe, but just once, it was a fluke. .22 to hunt deer, meh, not that impressive. You make a point a bullets only as accurate as the person sending it down range-however, that doesn't change the fact a good portion of that ammo, are handgun ammo, and most arn't all that powerful. Yes, that .22 might take a deer down, but its nowhere near as powerful as a 270. The 22 would be better used against the coyote, not the deer. the .40 S&W round is not that high powered of a pistol round-I know, I have one, I use it as my conceal carry. Its a good round, but its not something I want to storm a fortress with-for one, its nowhere near high powered enough to pierce body armor.
  24. funny, I just got called that on facebook couple days ago. I just said hey believe what you want and went on my merry way lol. It actually happens frequently to me. . .the trick is like everyone else said, don't let it get under your skin, and don't respond in kind.
  25. yes. bite the hand that feeds you. Do they realize that without capitalism, the government can't afford to give them all the handouts? Or capitalism that allows them to find work, at will?
