After some heavy computer calculations with my awesome computer, and waiting 3 days for the answer to finally print out. I can now confirm that God never changed, the Holy Spirit never changed, and The gifts are alive and well. Jesus Is Lord. last I checked, only the word of God is infallible, your computer is not. Especially if it has microsoft on it, if so its garenteed fallible. the way I look at it gifts have their place-tongues, in the early church, was a needed gift, that served 2 purposes. First, it helped reach people who spoke different languages-so the christians could converse with non christians, as it was much harder then to learn another language (they didnt have the methods of education we do today) and second, they didnt have the written word then, and the gift of tongues was so others could see they really did have the Holy Spirit. Today, we have interpreters and all sorts of education programs to help people learn other languages, so the gift of tongues really isnt needed to communicate-we can do so without it. And, since we have the word of God, the Bible, we can look through it, and since it tells us what a christian should be, and should teach we can compare the two, so we don't need the gift of tongues to tell if someones a christian or not. It is no longer a gift that is needed. I believe the Lord gives us what we need to spread the gospel-but Im not convinced Hes going to give us a gift we don't need. just my two cents.
  2. Something we all need. . .
  3. To a point, yes media has gotten worse. Yes, I played guns as a kid. I think we all did, but lets look at it, lets look at our favorite movie-star wars. Yes people got shot, and killed and diced, but usually they just fell over when shot or even just went poof and disapeared. . .so in a kids imagination that turns into a big dart game lol. Now, we got blood spraying everywhere, their guts hanging out all over the place, etc. etc etc. And now thats "cool" My dad even remembers a time when they took roadrunner off the TV cuz it was to violent. . .now look where were at. Now, again I dont think media is to blame for violence-but It does desensitize us. Another point, just read a study not to long back, soldiers who played a lot of violent, first person shooters, adapted to the battlefield better on average then those who didn't. Now, think that one through for a few. . .
  4. So funny its true. . .or is it so true its funny. . . I always get the two confused.
  5. I didnt say they didnt have an impact or influence our decisions-I agree that we are desensilized to violence and sex, but in the end we cant blame situations like what happened in colorado-on violent movies, any more then we can blame them on the gun. It is still the persons choice, their responsibility.
  6. man, its a good thing he put the albine squirrels back in the budget, I was gonna get angry about that!
  7. Honestly, to a point I agree with you-what goes in comes out-and in some people it can encourage violent behavior. With that being said, movies dont make us go out and kill people. Otherwise, thered be quite a few more murders, and there was certainly violent crime looooong before hollywood. You cant blame the movie for the choices of the person.
  8. Obviously not, as the man forgave him. He did so through Christs love. the man still has to suffer the consequences-forgiveness isnt a get out of jail free card-but he was forgiven by the victim, and now lets pray he asks God for forgiveness as well.
  9. hey, I got my dog and cat, they want to vote to. . .
  10. I like it. I admit, when I listen to hip hop, I prefer KJ-52, but this guys pretty good himself.
  11. Another oldie but a goodie, its Barlow Girl in Never Alone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8QubLxJI54&feature=branded
  12. lol old shep, honestly, if someone is breaking into your home with a gun, I say do so, training or not-their already coming after you with a gun. .. .lol jk. But no you have a point-dont carry a gun unless you know how to use it. I still find it funny, 63 year old runs off two young armed robbers.
  13. Darn, I was hopin that video of me roller skatin as a kid wouldnt get out . . .
  14. Im going to say rogue idiots. When I was in high school, I went to the national boyscout jamoree, and the president (Clinton at the time) was supposed to come speak. There was a person on stage, going through all the rules, the first one he listed was no laser pointers were to be permitted. Instantly, at least a dozen if not more laser pointers appeared. People think its funny, it doesnt dawn on them they could be tackled by a dozen 250 pound secret service agents and charged with attempting to kill the president, or the possibility that it could bring down a plane-just that its "funny"

some of us are skeptical if they actually re-appeared or not. . .
  16. ya, dont mess with them senior citizens, theyll show you a thing or to. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/surveillance-vid-shows-71-year-old-concealed-carry-holder-opening-fire-on-would-be-robbers/
  17. strange sounds. . . .sounds more like to me that none of them are related, and are people who are "hyper sensitive" about end times prophecies, most if not all these trumpet calls probably have real world causes such as hippos, or some 12 year old practicing his trumpet in the middle of the night.
  18. My favorite by far is the KJV, followed closely by the NASB, and the ESV, though I study out of several, even ones I absolutly despise such as the message. I like taking poor translations and tearing them apart by comparing them with the more literal translations and the greek/hebrew, it helps me grow.
  19. Of which im very happy. Yes parts of wyoming are boring, just stretches of nothing, but there are other parts like the mountains and the black hills that are beautiful-and remain beautiful because of the lack of ski resorts, and industrialization, and I personally like it that way. Nothing like two many people to make the great outdoors seem crowded, and more like the zoo.
  20. lol well, as far as livestock, wyoming is largely cattle. we do have sheep and goats, but mostly cattle (and the occasional buffalo ranch) with that being said, its not the bulk of our economy-the bulk of it is coal, coal bed methane, and oil. Coal from northeast wyoming supplies roughly 40% of the nations power. Just think about that next time you cant remember where wyoming is, cuz theres a good chance thats where the power going to your computer is coming from
  21. it actually a common practice in some parts (torching spiders) it just unfortunatly backfired on this guy. (get it, backfired, ok lame joke for the day)
  22. everyone thinks that where I live is the middle of the nowhere, and theres no one here but rednecks and cowboys. (well, that parts mostly true) and that theres no real technology. (ive even met a few people who dont even know where wyoming is) Oh ya, and to clear up another misconception-people think the jackalope is a texas thing. it isnt, it started in wyoming. get your facts straight.
  23. Ya, its not repealed, it only passed the house-to get repealed it has to pass the house and the senate. Then obama has to sign off on it (ya right) then if he doesnt the house and senate have to overrule him. This is nothing more then a false alarm
  24. A artist that just came to my attention today with some amazing music, Plumb, this is her song DRIFTING, featuring Dan Haseltine from Jars of Clay.
