To be forgiven by God we first must repent. So is this how we should treat each other. For example if someone sins against us and they are not sorry for what they have done even though they are capable of knowing what they did is wrong, are we commanded to forgive them even though that is not how God forgives?

The healing was before I was saved. I saw no harm in it.

I've had an experience where I was introduced to the slain in the spirit secretly. We were all invited to a church leaders house and someone who we didn't know was also invited. He began praying over people and people fell backwards. He told them what their future holds for them. He went through everyone(about 10 of us). When it came to my time I wouldn't do it and shortly I left. How is this different to Tarot Card Reading? I've also had a healing experience. Both my children were waiting to have some ear surgery. They were prayed over by some missionaries. When their time came for surgery they had their usual checkup and the doctors noticed their ears were better. Doctors were puzzled by what happened. They do not need surgery now and they've had no ear problems since. I should mention that the missionaries were Mormons. Matthew 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect

I've done a brief study on the Jewish Sects in Jesus time. Any corrections or comments are welcomed Pharisees These were experts in the knowledge and application of the law. They tried to apply the law to every aspect of everyday living. Because of the value they placed on scripture and using it to have a religion of what you can and cannot do, they were often quoted as being legalistic. They also accepted law that was passed down by mouth. When the temple was destroyed in 70 AD they agreed that repentance was accepted by God for the forgiveness of sin and therefore their sect survived. Sadducees This sect disagreed with the Pharisees about the law that was passed down by mouth. This includes the resurrection of Christ, predestination and belief in angels. They only accepted the law that was found in the Hebrew Scriptures. When the Temple was destroyed this sect quickly died out because they believed, to be forgiven for sins they still needed to offer literal sacrifices in the temple. Essenes This was another Jewish sect who believed that to please God they needed to withdraw themselves from society and follow the Hebrew Scriptures in detail. They also developed distinct doctrines such as the coming of 2 Messiahs (One priestly, the other a kingly) Zealots These were the freedom fighters. They tried to overthrow the Roman government in 60 AD . They didn

I don't see anything wrong with that. It is wrong if both do not agree. I thought marriage was a protection against immorality. I can't imagine a marriage like you suggest. Celibacy at certain periods in a marriage do happen for different reasons. But what is the point of marriage if you don't consummate it? 1 Corinthians 7 Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry. But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. I say this as a concession, not as a command.

Thanx Natt, happy new year from Blenheim (at 12.59.42). According to the weather forecast this is about the only place in the country where it is not raining. My daughter is in Wellington and my son has gone camping in the Sounds (a sound somewhere near Portage I think). I hope they took a lot of warm clothes as it looks like it is pretty cold out there. Blenheim is desserted because someone told me the police put out a warrant for the arrest of anyone under the age of 25 on new years. What are you doing? I'm watching tv. I'm in Whangarei. Its not raining here. Its cold though. Where is Summer? Its quiet here too.

Here! Here! OK, close it now.

Paul in his letters referred to believers as saints. Romans 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's: Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: Philippians 1:1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: Colossians 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ

Sounds like my son-but he's a bit younger Talk to his parents.

this is WAAAAAY beyond crossing the line. these teachers have no right whatsoever to do this. esp without the parents knowing. this just sounds like some freak cult. Read http://www.theword.org.nz/SITE_Default/SIT...ples_rights.asp These policies generally go through schools. It is a government policy I agree with you that it is not right.

surely it cant be..... this is so tragic! so what do they say the point of sex ed is? what are they hoping to gain if this is the result of it? oh my goodness...cant u do anything about it? There is a lot of emphasis of putting on a condom. They teach this because of the amount of sexually active children here. Sex outside marriage is never taught as being wrong. If someone doesn't want to have sex it is taught that is ok too. They want these children to keep themselves safe.

Yikes...I don't know how they get away with that. When we did sex-ed it was all very medically-oriented and antiseptic. None of this graphic image and positions junk. I don't think it happens at all schools here. I work as a teacher aide which is how I found out what is being taught and shown. All this is legal in NZ. It is sad.

I work in a secular secondary school where several Christian children are sent. Birth Control is taught here. Some children are as young as 10 years when they are introduced to it. Sex education has now been put in the Science Curriculum (at this school not necessarily all schools) so parents do not need to be notified and so all children can benefit. This include showing how to put on condoms (explicitly). A cartoon is seen at yr 10 (14-15yr) which shows visually how to have sex including foreplay, positions etc... I don't think the parents have any idea. Condoms and other contraceptions are given out without question by the school councillor. The school seem to think parents do not know what there children are up to so they must look after them in this area. There no parent consultation here at all. If the child becomes pregnant they are taken by a school councillor to have a termination. I've been told termination, abortion terms are not allowed to be said. The children are told they are going to a nurse who will get their periods back to normal.

Stories like this sadden me because I can relate in a way, though I'm a guy, so not exactly, but I know what religious bondage is as it regards sex. I basicly grew up thinking it was a sin to even mention sex. I was never given any sort of "talk" like other boys seem to get while they are growing up. So I guess at least someone taught you a semi-christian perspective of sex. My parents were afraid to say anything about the subject, as I said. Maybe they had good intentions, but they were afraid to mention it at all in, other than "don't do it and don't talk about it." and you knew not to, or you'd get an ear full or told just not to ask that question. I'm glad they had a sex ed class in public school because that's about the closest thing I learned to the truth, because parents sure weren't going to discuss it. So a number of times it was get out the encyclopedia or a medical dictionary and read it for myself. This still happens. In one case I know a girl was home schooled in a Christian home. Sex was not talked about . Now she is a unwed teenage mum. On the Christian radio station I'm hearing more that we as Christians need to talk to our children about it before they get the secular view on it.

Thank you. A very sound, theological remark.

My friend brought up how many solo mums do start to go to church for a while but after a short time they end up leaving because they feel left out. Not all newcomers have necessary got a relationship with god and often it is the response they receive from the church determines how long they attend and if they look at other churches. I think it is sad when these people do leave.
