Biblically there are 2 types of tongues. Foreign languages, which you need an interperator for, and a Holy language that when spoken EVERYONE hears in their OWN language. If you notice at Pentacost there was no need for an interperator and everyone heard in there own tongue (language). This is also the same in almost every other verse that refers to tongues. There are a few exceptions mind you, and those exceptions come when the word Tongues is used to describe foreign languages (which is also seen in Acts 2:8). First Corinthians has many of these examples, I suggest thoroughly studying that chapter with a Strong's Concordance in hand. God Bless, Dave

Ok in the other thread things drifted off into the mention of tongues, and WhySoBlind stated that all who recieve the Holy Spirit are evidenced so by speaking in tongues. The problem I see is with judging folks based on non-essential doctrine. As you stated WSB we are saved by the Blood Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus the Christ. Whether you teach baptism by submersion or by pouring, whether you believe with salvation comes works or works are an important part of our salvation(which by the way is saying the same thing with different words), whether you pray to the saints of old for intercession or you ask your brother to pray for you. These are not salvation issues, and should not be treated as such, I am a firm believer that NONE of us has EVERYTHING right, and none of us ever will until Jesus comes back to take the church as his bride. My suggestion to anyone who questions another denomination or organization is to first try to prove yourself wrong, then put on there shoes and try to prove them right. Pre-trib, post-trib rapture??? Who Cares??? Either way I am gonna live every day like it is my last, when Jesus does return i want to be found doing His work!!! Now I am not saying compromise your own beliefs, I am not saying compromise essential doctrine. The sad truth is there will be doctrinal and theological disagreements, we can discuss these in Love, but when we start making ourselves the judge of others souls we are walking very close the edge of a very steep cliff. Ok, I have been in this debate time and time again, I have said the same thing time and time again. Cigarettes in and of htemselves are not sin, I am a smoker and in smoking the way I do, I AM SINNING (thats a new revelation for me ) You see I am addicted to cigarettes, I smoke a pack or more a day. Part of me wants to quit part of me enjoys smoking. You see with cigarettes being physically and mentally addictive the part that enjoys it has an unfair advantage. Now for those (like I used to be) who think by smoking oyu are not sinning, ask yourself a few questions. Are you ever strapped for money? How are you when you havn't had a cigarette for awhile? Are you in control of your smoking? or is your smoking in control of you? There are 2 issues here, 1 are you being a steward of the finances God has allowed you to use? 2 are you serving another master? Do you sit in church thinking boy I hope this is over soon I could really use a cigarette. Ask youself those questions, answer yourself honestly, and you will no longer be able to deny your addiction is sin that takes away from your relationship with the Lord Jesus. God Bless, Dave

I agree. I think that it's wrong for our elected officials to pass laws which cater to the language needs of non-English speaking citizens. For one thing, many of these folks actually want to learn English, and do so outside the home. Yep for all the claims to be merely upholding Florida's law they were breaking it by denying her to be fed orally by her parents and concerned friends and family. We are ALL sinners, Jesus died for us all, including Adventists. BTW, SDA's believe that Jesus died for their sins, how are they any different than denominations that differ in their beliefs? Seven Day Adventists I will admit do have their faith in Christ for the most part. Now that being said my statement did not say anyone was not going to heaven did it? Angel, It is my understanding from scripture that Hell is a temporary place and even Hell will be cast into the Lake of fire after the great white throne judgement. A twin is natural and would not necessarily be the same thing as a clone. As you can have identical twins or Fraternal twins. Natural reproduction is God led, can we say the same about cloning? God Bless, Dave

Well there are children involved if I have read this correctly, there is also the issue of the estate. If a divorce is going to be the course of action it is very helpful to be able to prove the spouse is in violation of the marriage vows.
