  1. Amen Dave When reading you post this Scripture came to mind - "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the SIMPLICITY THAT IS IN CHRIST." 2 Corinthians 11:3 God bless Estie
  2. Amen Marnie One of my favourite verses - "But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word." -Isaiah 66:2 I pray constantly that the Holy Spirit will teach me the fear of the Lord all the days of my life. God bless Estie
  3. The only thing that keeps my eyes off JESUS is me! God's best soldiers are found in the valley of affliction. Fall to your knees and grow there. (George Meuller) When you are reading a book in a dark room, and come to a difficult part, you take it to a window to get more light. So take your Bibles to Christ. (Robert Murray M'Cheyne) Voltaire expected that within fifty years of his lifetime there would not be one Bible in the world. His house is now a distribution center for Bibles in many languages. (Corrie Ten Boom)
  4. John 1:1-5 ... Could They Know Of The Power Of God? ... Do They Know The Way The Truth And The Life? ... Have They Heard The Lord Jesus Christ Is The Resurrection And The Life? March 12:24-27 ... Did They Hear The News About God's Adoptions? Romans 8:22-23 ... Do They Know The Good News? John 3:16 Be Blessed Beloved The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27 Love, Your Brother Joe Give Them Jesus Christ And Him Crucified Amen. Beautifully said Joe.
  5. Praise God this is a wonderful post and has just ministered so to my heart. Holy Spirit of Truth please be gracious to teach me the fear of the Lord all the days of my life. Suzanne you are indeed an encouragement and blessing to me. God bless Estie
  6. Amen Dennis I often ask myself "Do I tremble at God's Holy word?". And often, ashamedly, I don't. Irene this has been a great post and it is still going As John the Baptist said to his disciples in John 3:30 "He must increase, but I must decrease." And that is what it is all about for me - less of me and MORE of HIM. Glory to the KING of kings and LORD of lords. Blessings Estie
  7. Hiya damo1, Once again a great testimony to how God has brought you through. He alone is ALWAYS faithful. Makes me remember about a wonderful man of God who shared the Gospel wherever he went and the saddest of all, he was most poorly treated by other christians. He had to sleep on hard floors at bus depots under cardboard boxes. None of these other christians offered this man a place to sleep. Can you believe it! It made me cry and I could not believe this happened to him. But the most incredible thing about him - he still to this day is witnessing for Christ. Alleluia I can also understand where the OP is coming from as the longer I have walked with Christ the more I have also seen many brothers and sisters in Christ turn a blind eye to other christians in severe need. May God forgive our hardened hearts and enable us as we seek Him to help us truly show His love and kindness to all in need. Remember OP you can make a difference because Jesus Christ lives on the inside of you. You can be that christian that makes a difference in someone else's life. Please don't think of calling yourself an atheist that is not glorifying to God. Man will disappoint you but God NEVER will. God will enable you to make His light in you shine out to others. God bless Estie
  8. Well, I wouldn't want to be charged with hijacking another thread, so I won't pursue the context of Phil. 4, for example. Which, is not my opinion. The context of a Scripture is not an opinion, it is what you read in the Word. Exactly
  9. Hiya Marnie, That is "your opinion" that Scripture is used out of context. In my opinion I do not see that Dennis using Scripture "willynilly". Anyhow, thanks to the OP I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread. Great reading everyone's opinions. God's Holy Word is the TRUTH. And His Word will stand forever. Amen. God bless Estie
  10. And I Iove it when people, however well intentioned, try and make the Bible say things it doesn't address by taking verses and misapplying them to bolster their opinions. Not that I am against opinions, mind you. Why are people so afraid to just say, "This is my opinion" and leave it at that? I mean, your opinion is just as valid as mine, and vice versa. Why are some of you so threatened by a person or persons who have an opinion different than yours? I see this all over Worthy. You know, some of us are actually free thinkers, who are grounded in the Scriptures, yet don't feel the need to rip verses out of context to prove you wrong or us right. Still, we did take in inoccuous topic and generate 11 pages of discussion. That's worth something. It does make for a frustrating, if not humorous, moment or two. Hiya Marnie, Precisely Marnie that is "your opinion" that some have taken the Bible out of context. Your opinion Marnie, not theirs. By the way I am not trying to derail this thread but what has "I see this all over Worthy" got to do with this thread?? Perhaps you must take it up with the Moderators. Once again it is "your opinion" that "why are some of you so threatened by a person or persons who have an opinion different than yours" For I am certain many will tell you they are not threatened but you feel "they" are! For instance I saw you were threatened by many who differed with you on your thread regarding Paula Whites divorce! Don't mean that in an unkind way Marnie but your husband came in and defended you! Must say though I have thoroughly enjoyed this topic and just like you say every one's entitled to their opinion. I try to live according to the Scriptures as a child of the living God. For me God's Word is the only TRUTH. God bless Estie

  12. Amen Dennis. We are to set out mind on things above and not on things of the earth once we are new creatures in Christ. We are to hunger for the Bread of life and be fruitful unto Him. Pleasing Him in all we do. Thank you for sharing God's Scriptures. His Holy Bible is the only TRUTH I live according to as one of His children. Estie P.S. I do not see Dennis using Scripture "willynilly"
  13. Hiya Dennis, I could not have responded better myself. Awesome with all the Scriptures. In my opinion God most definately cares what we take into our minds. I do not care for TV at all. Like Paul says we are to set our mind on higher things now that we are new creatures in Christ and if we ask the Holy Spirit He will help us to do this as He is our Helper. God bless Estie

  15. Hiya all, If you go to this link http://www.audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html You can get the KJV Bible downloaded for free and narrated by Alexander Scourby. It is just great. Love Estie
  16. My God bless each and every brother and sister at Worthy and may He always have the preminence in our hearts and in all our actions. Even though we do agree to disagree may Jesus always be our point of agreeance.

Hiya Damo1, How wonderful that you and your wife are friends. That in itself is a blessing from our mighty God. It is great that you have such good communication with her. May you continue to uplift and encourage all who God brings across your path. You never know what wonderful plans God has in mind for you. May the Holy Spirit enable you to share with boldness in the Lord in the Philippines. Love Estie

Hiya F8thNJesus, Praise God for your awesome testimony. Not everyone feels that they want their marriages to be restored but go on and divorce. I do not judge them. Whatever they decide that is between God and them. But for me, I believe that praying for the spouse's salvation and trusting God is what is most important. I have read 100's of the most amazing restored marriage testimonies where nobody would have given these marriages a hope. No matter what has been shared here, as of course we are all entitled to sharing our opinion on this subject, it is really between that person and God at the end of the day. Your trust as a Christian is to be in the Living God and not man. I am in this very situation. I have been separated from my husband for almost two years now, and I trust God with it all. I believe that God has called me to walk by faith and trust in Him alone for my husband's salvation and the restoration of our marriage. I have often endured snide remarks and comments from others since trusting God for my marriage. But they no longer upset me, for a long time ago I thought about Noah and how he must have been ridiculed, laughed at, etc. when building the ark, but like him my trust is in the Livng God who controls all the circumstances of my life. He made me and He knows what is best for me. By the way I have to give glory to God and say this has been the best time of my life for I have truly come to know and having a living relationship with my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I have forgiven much and if Jesus forgave MUCH who am I to withhold forgiveness to my spouse. Love Estie P.S. I have been preparing since 2005 an awesome book for God's glory (no money involved) regarding incredible marriages that God alone restored. Many of these abusive, adulterous, porn addicted, etc. spouses came to salvation as their spouses continued to pray and seek God for them.

Hiya Damo1, You have such a lovely heart and I am truly sorry for what you experienced. I can see that our Lord is using you with what you have experienced to help others. My God bless you mightly. Estie
  20. Hiya brothers and sisters, Thanks for posting and sharing. I am encouraged and uplifted. My God give each and every one of us strength to be kind and loving to one another. John 15:17 "These things I command you, that ye love one another."
  21. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I have not been on the Worthy Boards for long but try to come on as often as time will allow. I have been edified, uplifted and encouraged by a lot of the posts I have read. Unfortunately I do not always have time to enter a response or post a topic. I am a single mom, working full-time, raising three children, three dogs, a cat and a gerbel! As much as I have been uplifted, sadly though I have also found that a lot of posters seem to really land up hurting each other with their responses to each other and some seem so very personal. I understand that at times things can get tense but must we really hurt each other with unkind words! What about having a humble and meek attitude with one another, and doing things out of love. One poster wrote that we are to be a family here at Worthy. I just want to say that a post I had read yesterday had saddened me due to the responses that were being posted. I went to bed troubled over it and it stayed with me the whole day and I wondered why we as brothers and sisters in Christ need to hurt each other with our very personal comments. It is enough that life can be so hard at times to experience. Please don
  22. I'm sorry Marnie, but I have to disagree with you about the scripture you are talking about. I was married awhile back before I came to know the Lord so both of us were non-believers at that point. I became a Christian and I mean I changed totally and it actually scared my husband. But to try and make this short the scripture says; ICorinthians 7:13-16 13And the woman which hath a husband that believeth not, and he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 14 for the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 15 But if the unbelieving depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. 16 For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou save thy husband? or how knowest thou O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife? You see my husband was not saved the whole time before he died up to a week before he died. Now if I had left him just because my life seemed in my mind not going well or because I felt he was holding me back, where would he be right now? I prayed for nine years for his salvation and it was not easy living with him and I did feel like he was holding me back, but I loved him and I knew God's word was true to us who believe!!! He is with our King and now I know I will see him again. HALLELUJAH TO THE LAMB!! Hiya LightofJesus, What an awesome testimony. You have encouraged me sister. Thank you so much and may God bless you. Cajun to Adonai::: I will pray for both you and your Husband that your efforts will be greatly rewarded. I do have to warn you ma'am , that the verse just before the one you depicted 1Cor 13, and I'm referring to 1 Cor 12 states: Now, I will speak to the rrest of you, though I do NOT have a direct command from the Lord! " When you place you faith on the "Word," it is always good to read the entire thought of what a diciples as Paul is trying to convey. You may be correct in your assumption that God accepted you husband, as long as he did not deny God in any way or HIS holy spirit...and I'm discerning that your husband did NOT necessarily deny God, but just had some "stronghold" on himself that he couldn't release until he realized that his time was nearing. THIS SHOULD NOT AFFECT YOUR WALK WITH GOD MA'AM ! Neither, you nor I can save another.....Only God in HIS infinite power can do that. And Marnie, that is what you already know, and your husband WILL SEE the power of God and you will witness it in your lifetime.....But neither you nor I can force someone to God's will. We can only learn from it! And sometimes that all that God needs us to do to be better diciples for HIM ! Prayers and Blessings to you all Cajun Hiya Cajun, This is awesome, I responded to LighofJesus's testimony on how it encouraged me and you responded to me saying you will pray for me and my husband. I did not mention anything about my husband? Perhaps you were meaning to respond to another poster but I surely could do with your prayers for my husband's salvation. Blessings in His service, Estie
