  1. Is it not possible that this is where the seven (3.5) years of "peace" could be rooted? Let me state once again that the Palestinians already posses the land and so ownership here is a technicality. The only "benefit" Israel gets from owning those territories is for the air space. And at what cost? The fact remains that the Palestinians control, for the most part, both territories and use both of them to wage Islam's proxy war against Israel. Israel has very few options in this case. They can bide their time and continue to fight an almost unseen enemy, they can chose to eliminate the threat once and for all by driving them into adjacent territories or they can pass the responsibility to someone else. While it is true that the world may force Israel to accept a treaty and that the treaty may last seven years, I am not the one who will promote that treaty nor will I advise Israel to accept the treaty. I oppose any support that Christians might wish to give to the Beast of Revelation. My job is to do God's will, not promote the rule of the "Man of Sin." As for possession of the land by Moslems, God's plans are not thwarted by, "facts on the ground."
  2. The position paper linked in the OP does not deal with the history from the viewpoint of, "The hand of God." Instead the author attempts to summarize the recent history with a selection of facts and opinions. Not all of the facts are accurate nor are all of the opinions shared by everyone. That is the very nature of a historical discussion, after all. The author accepts the population numbers put forward by the British without question. The author also ignores significant events and legalities that are not convenient. The Sikes-Picot agreement is not mentioned for example. By the same token, the legalities of the Jewish settlement are not explored. I would rate this brief history as giving a minimal understanding and failing to set an accurate context for future study.
  3. I am delighted to report that Islam has not yet forced Israel into a multi-front war. That day will come soon enough. For now, thanks for the prayers. The nonsense of Lebanon, Hizbullah and others saying, "It wasn't us!" is simply silly. It was the spirit of hatred that emanates from all who worship Allah. Who cares who pulled the trigger? The rockets came and there should be an answer.
  4. There are a few major problems with this plan. First, why should Israel give it's land to anyone? Second, the gift of shooting platforms to terrorists only enables them. Third, neither Egypt nor Jordan have a history of stopping the terrorists effectively. Fourth, God owns the land and nobody has the right to give it to anyone.
  5. It is far more likely that the world will take the side of terror and attempt to force Israel to accept a deal. All nations will come up against Jerusalem, right? I don't like it and I don't promote it. I say it is time to get some righteous prayers going. Pray that God will reveal himself in this situation. Pray that all Israel will turn to God. Pray that the enemies will be confused and filled with fear. Pray that your friends and associates will not be deceived. Hows that for my conditions for surrender? Surrender to the God of Israel, that is.
  6. There is a problem with this analysis because it assumes that John's disciples did not believe John when he declared that Jesus was the greater one. I say that they did receive Jesus as their salvation at that time and were already believers when Paul found them. Why should be call these disciples unsaved when it is clear from the Bible that Paul accepted them as disciples. This is not less than an attack on both John the baptist's and Paul's integrity.
  7. The link above was incorrectly spelled. It should be: http://www.debka.com
  8. Poorinspirit may also disagree with the doctrine of the Trinity since he denies that the word he can be a reference to the Holy Spirit.
  9. Is that a description of two of our most highly treasured establishments? You know... The news media and science? So, does this mean that it is possible to be deceived by science? Say it ain't so!
  10. Bethlehem was not a huge town in the first century but it was a large village. There may have been more than one inn. Swaddling was not particularly unusual but was not so common as to be assumed. There are other historical records of swaddling in the area and near that time. The manger would have been in a secure and sheltered area with a certain degree of privacy which would have been desirable. It would also have some warmth in the cool of the evening. Joseph and Mary may not have given birth on the first day they arrived. It isn't entirely clear from the New Testament story. It could be that Joseph had a little time to make it into a comfortable place for Mary. As for Mary riding a donkey from Nazareth to Bethlehem... You're kidding, right? Joseph actually liked her. I refuse to believe that he would have subjected her to that sort of torture. If I'm wrong about that, I'll let him tell me but until then, I'm not going to accept that one.
  11. It's a pretty story but I don't know of any such history in Israel or the Middle East in ancient times. Could the OP please give some sort of references or verification?
  12. I want to know how a person gets in line for that hand-out.
  13. The Ministry of the Interior has a long history of fabricating evidence against believers here. They consider themselves to be above the law. They have actually refused to provide proof of their activities to the Supreme Court. Several legal firms in Israel have conducted lengthy inquiries concerning "secret evidence" presented by the Ministry of the Interior against believers. It has been proven occasionally that the evidence they supposedly presented did not exist. It was mere hearsay from a lying witness. On the other hand, for the Rabbi to sign a paper saying that he will refrain from "missionary activity" is not a problem since he never intended to do that anyway. Now if they will ask the Habad missionaries to sign a similar declaration, that would be interesting. It might also be interesting to point out that the most conversions from one religion to another are done by the Rabbinate. They keep careful records and that statement can be easily proven.
  14. :emot-pray: But... How will I ever get up to a higher status if I don't post in all of the new threads?
  15. One of the best things a Christian can do is to be a Christian. You will not deceive a Jewish person into changing their beliefs anyway. Talking like a Jewish person won't help at all. One of my friends, an Orthodox Jewish man, says, "Don't give me a tract, be one!" He will listen you me, he allows my tour groups to ask any questions they want, he even is willing to talk about the Jewish theology of Messiah. In fact, even though he says that he does not accept that Jesus is the Messiah, it is clear that he has no idea at all about the person we know as Jesus. He rejects a myth that has been created by Christians over the centuries. The fake Jesus that Moshe repudiates is also on my bad list. I wouldn't follow a messiah that behaves like many Christians say he behaves either.
  16. If it didn't have a label, how would I know who that represents?
  17. Why does Gog and Magog appear at the end of the millennium? It there some reason that the attack from the north cannot occur before the Tribulation? By the way, these two entities can easily be identified as literal places and kingdoms. Why wouldn't we accept the literal definitions?
  18. "Stolen" by Hamas a few minutes later. Actually, it is officially acknowledged that it went missing and Hamas may now control the money. Like, who would have ever guessed that could happen?
  19. That was foolish! I think he lost a lot of good will and probably a considerable number of votes with that bit of boasting.
  20. Way cool! Actually, they only really need to buy one and do the reverse engineering thing to make as many as needed. It's only a mix of politeness and need for speed that brings up the discussion of buying a bunch of them.
  21. Thanks. That is a great reminder of the wonder of prayer. I believe we should find excuses for corporate prayer and that no excuse is needed for personal fellowship with the Almighty.
  22. Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil: who put darkness for light, and light for darkness: who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! This rather odd list in uncannily familiar. It might be a description of the guidelines for an American TV sitcom. It could just as easily be a description of hard hitting business ethics or world politics. This is a list of boundaries though, that seems clear.
  23. This passage can be taken literally so we mustn't completely leave the literal understanding unmentioned. Hebron is one of the ancient landmarks mentioned in the Bible as is Jericho. These boundaries have been removed from Israel in recent times and that really should not be the case. I have wondered at times if the fact that Prime Minister Rabin was murdered might have been because God removed protection from him after he gave away those two cities.
  24. "Duel Covenant" theology is convenient and attractive to some Jewish people but I can't find it in the Bible. I do not believe that there is an alternative way to an eternal relationship with the Almighty. Israel will indeed be saved as it says in the Bible. The details of how that works is something I'll enjoy learning...when it happens. Jewish people who do not have a relationship with God, however, are not saved and will not be unless they come to God by faith.
  25. Making this sort of announcement is sort of like saying, "Hurry up and hide stuff!"
