  1. Absolutely love the Chronicles of Narnia (the books, not the new movies. Not that the new ones are bad, they're actually pretty good, but I absolutely adore the BBC versions!) I've probably read them 8-10 times!
  2. i like most of the new super hero movies, but the classic superman movies with christopher reeve will always have a special place in my heart! and i cannot wait for the new batman movie!!!
  3. I would never claim to be an expert on this subject, and I'm not sure either, but with that said - the similarities are VERY erie!
  4. Thank you all so much for your input! Your insights have been and I believe will be very helpful
  5. I agree 100%, it's very disturbing
  6. I honestly think he may be an easier candidate than Clinton for a republican candidate to beat.
  7. And we have no infrastructure for them, but they would be awesome!
  8. I have been thinking a lot about the power of prayer lately, and i have noticed some interesting things in my own life. When I think about the people I know who are what I call "prayer warriors" it strikes me that I feel as though some of their prayers seem to be "answered" more often than others. It is my understanding that individual Christians are uniquely gifted for specific tasks (pastoring, encouragement, hospitality, etc.), but I do not see in scripture where prayer is included in that list. I don't know that I have a specific question in all of this, but any thoughts/scriptures would be appreciated.
  9. I look forward to learning more on this subject as well - thank you all for your time and patience
  10. From American's buying trillions of dollars worth of products that end up recalled because of horrible lead problems, etc. Is anyone seeing a trend here?
  11. It's disturbing to me that abstaining from sexual activity in unmarried individuals is thought to be a novel concept - especially in a church! I would expect something like this from a secular setting - but from the pulpit!?!
  12. Why does our judicial system allow such frivolous (sp?) pursuits that are downright insulting to law-abiding citizens who actually need it to work for them!?!?
  13. I was raised in a church where we took communion every Sunday as well, and after I moved our new church only takes communion once a month. I sincerely miss the weekly practice, and I would have to agree that it did not become rote. However, I would say that the value of taking the elements is in your heart condition, and not when or how you the exterior circumstances change.
