  3. Amen and amen IMO many christians tend to become arrogant when it comes to this kind of spiritual warfare. Scripture says "Greater is He that is IN us, than he that is in the world." Satan nor his demons fear any of us they DO have power and more than us. I have seen, heard and rebuked devils out of my life through the power of the H.S. but He led me to do it. I for one would not seek out demons to rebuke and fight, God has not called us to do that. And about the time a christian goes outside their realm of authority to fight demons they will get their kister handed to them on a silver platter.
  4. Amen Believer And where would any of us be right now if someone decided we didn't convert or repent as quickly as man thought we aught and banned us from church instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to do His job. He does so much better than us anyways!
  5. Thank you guys for the advise. I think my biggest issue is I'm tired of me and mine being doormats all the time because I am a big one for turning the other cheek. Now about the burying them up to their heads in sand and pouring honey on them............could that be a Peophetic dream??????
  6. Ya know I've always been the peace maker type. I hate conflict and fighting, and always try to defend a person who is being slandered even if some of it is deserved. And no matter where I have lived I have always been friendly but try not to become involved in too much of everyone else's issues because I have enough of my own to deal with. Now on the other hand my husband is a "social butterfly". He makes friends easily, helps anyone who ask for it, he's not a gossip, but he does hear alot about people's personal lives because he is very easy to talk to. And all the neighborhood kids seem to graviate to him because he's a big kid himself, and he's had a very abuse childhood so they feel comfortable talking to him and he does give good advise and more than that he listens to them with an open heart and understanding. Now I've come to realize this place whwere I live is like I'm on the set of a soap opera "As my Stomach Churns!!!!!" And it's driving me nuts. There's way too much drama between this kid and that one, this adult and that one. And I try being friends with all of them, they are good people but have issues with each other that is just alot of misunderstandings. Now I found out that a couple of these adults have been talking bad about us. One of them had told some lies to our landlord which infuriated him, I don't even know how this women could say these things because we don't talk about our money issues to anyone!!!!! And another neighbor lady is saying some things to and about my husband that are so disgusting and vile, you would have to have a warped mind to even think these type of things. Now I'm mad!!!!!! My husband tells me just to forget it he's not worried about it, although he is very angry, and tells me not to stress myself over people's warped minds when I'm due to have a baby next Monday. So what would you do? Let it go as your spouse requested, or put on the warpaint and let heads roll where they may?
  7. damo1 it's really good to see you back, and seeing and reading your heart for the lost people in your missionary work... I'll be praying for you and those who evangalize with you. May God move mightily in your ministry.
  8. I won't claim scientific expertise in this area, I leave that to Charitow but I have seen and witnessed and have heard testimony from people who have suffered from mental illness and they will tell you it was purely demonic. I have a beloved friend whom I've known for several years who was diagnosed Bi-Polar and severly depressed as a child. She lived with this for years, saw all the doctors, treatment medications ect....ect... She got saved years later and still dealt with her medical issues. Then in a miraculous healing service at church she was set free from these devils, and she will even tell you they were devils, now you will never meet a more joyful, loving women, who praises God daily no matter what! Next I have a cousin who is older than me who suffered severe mental illness most of her life. Who was institutionalized several times because she was a danger to herself and others. She will tell you of the "voices" she has heard speaking to her and the demons she saw terrorizing her. She went to church with some friends and was saved INSTANTLY she was delivered!!!!!!! God healed her so completely He's even wiped her memory of some of the most horrific and abusive times of her life. I moved here to CT. last August, I had only been here about a month and I saw a neighbor lady who is Schizophrenic literally climb out her second floor window and hurl herself to the ground. Me and a friend were the only eyewitnesses. I SAW the demonic activity all around this woman and her house. I know scoff and question if you want, but demons are real and I know what I saw. Another friend I met up here has told me of her medical condition, Bi-Polar and Schizophrenic, she's on all kinds of meds. and treatments. She has told me of how since a small child she has seen demons follow her and knows things she shouldn't know, and how they talk to her. Her grandma, mamma, and aunt all claim to have psychic abilities and have been the same way as her. She and her two sons have told me how one night she had come down her stairs on her knees, speaking in another language, growling and cussing scared her boys and husband senseless!!!! Tell me that's not demonic. A little girl 9 years old who is friends with my little girl is Bi-Polar, no she doesn't come from a abusive or disfuctional family these are good loving people, is so full of rage and abuse towards others. I'm sorry if any disagree it's demonic. Do I think God uses the medical field to help thise in need? Absolutely! But why do we limit God to do what He says He wants to do for us? We need to take Him at His Word and believe Him for it.
  9. Ok. so the two JW came back this afternoon and we had a short convo. It kinda felt like they were feeling me out because when I referenced several scriptures to them, they seemed in a hurry to leave. First off we began to speak about the current condition of the world today and they asked me if I thought it was fair. I told them that the Word has already told us that in the end times periolous times would come. Then they asked me if I thought that meant the end of the world. I told them that I believed that Jesus was going to come back for His saints and destroy satan and the earth. They responded with so you believe He will wipe out wickedness? I said yes and all those who donot believe on Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will face judgement....ect... Then before they could rush out the door I asked them simply do JW believe tha Jesus Christ is the Son of God? They said yes. Then I asked if they believed if He was God? They said He is a god but not Almighty God. So I quoted John 1:1 to them. They said they couldn't talk now but would come back another time. But as far as the first part of our discussion they kept talking about the end of the "system". What exactly do they mean by that?
  10. Every time I see this title I get skeerert!!!!!
  11. I'm late coming into the last two pages of posts, and I tried to get the link but an error page kept showing up on their site. But from what I read here all I can say is "SAY WHAT!!!!!!" That's one of the craziest things I've ever read. BTW IMO Freddie Mercury was one of the most brilliant talents to ever live also.

yod, you do realize, don't you, that the above comment is going to cause someone to try and make the point that you are unknowingly being a stumbling block to others if you are seen sipping a glass of wine at a restaurant? of course, that also means that you're most likely being a stumbling block to someone who might see you eating a pork chop. I agree Lady C But I have a question and hope it's not too much off topic. Really how much responsability falls on the one who is the supposed stumbling block? Should that one really have no such frredom in Christ or his/her life for fear of causing somelse to lose their walk or be cast into the role of judging. Ican take a certain amount of responsability, but for others to lay blame for their fallings because so and so did it, IMO is not what that means.
  13. I am neither Pentecostal nor charismatic...Wow, can you guys believe that?!!? LOL, but I do agree with you fully on this comment Stacey. I can only speculate what Pentecostals believe by what I have seen or was told by members. I know some are far out there. Being from the south, you have what some called "Themselves" oneness pentecostals...I haven't seen to many oneness churches up here, but I always heard rumors about some playing with snakes. They did this because Jesus claimed that you could handle serpents and not die. What I do know for a fact, is that THIS sect of pentecostalism is quite rare. Most on here are very level headed and wouldn't do such things. I have also met some that consider themselves "oneness" but do not partake in such activities. I spoke with one gentleman (pentecostal) who proceeded to tell me all about the works of one "William Branham"...this was interesting to say the least...but I would never, EVER paint pentecostals as being with the likes of this guy. As I have said, being from Arkansas, I saw alot of the "Can't wear pants (women)" can't cut hair, can't own a TV (Im serious), MUST speak in tongues...but than I come here and speak with you fine "pentecostals" and realize that it's all based on each individual church and each individual person. I guess in general, we can same the same about all denoms. I know being a baptist myself, many have this false impression that once you walk into a baptist church a finger will be pointed at you proclaiming hell awaits...ROTFL...simply not true. AAAAWWW yes our ever popular "Snakehandlers". I assure you they are more than just rumors or mystical creatures, they do exist. I tell you what, I could have all the faith in the world, that I could leap tall buildings in a single bound, stop speeding bullets, or touch a snake......doesn't mean I'm going to tempt that!!!!! My two favorite words with regaurds to snakes....unseen and hiding...... They remain unseen and I don't need to go into hiding....
  14. Amen!!!!!! Lady C I do have to say that thru my expieirence of different pentecostal churches they are not all the same. The first one we went to when my family was saved, was a very loving, laid back church who was on fire for God. Then when we moved to Fl. a few years later we found another church (still The Church of God), whose pastor was such a dynamic, wonderful man, his wife left him and their children, while he was the pastor, and ran off with another man and divorced the pastor. He remained single for a couple of years and married a lady from the church, what a doll she was, the leaders of the church had a big todo over that and removed him from the pastorialship. They sent in a new pastor, and let me tell you the legalism that arose in that church afterwards was ridiculous. Everyone was judginf everyone else, jeans and makeup a big nono.......ect.... So we cain't paint ALL pentecostal churches with the same brush.
  15. Pentecostals are generally associated with classical Pentecostals. The largest denomination would be Assemblies of God. They believe that the initial, physical evidence of the infilling of the Spirit is speaking in tongues. Charismatics usually refers to those who are from Catholic, mainline, evangelical, non-Pentecostal churches who are open to spiritual gifts, speak in tongues, etc. They are often renewal movements in non-Pentecostal churches. They are not as dogmatic about tongues as the only or initial physical evidence. Pentecostal-charismatic can be used interchangeably. It is possible to go to a Pent or char church, but not have the experience. It is more important to have the experience than the label. It is the largest and fastest growing segment of the Church around the world. There are also hundreds of such groups with a variety of beliefs and practices (some conservative, some radical), so we should not stereotype. Which group do you identify with formally? Church of God? Assembly of God? Catholic, but speak in tongues, etc.? What was your original church background? I was saved and HG filled at 7 yrs. old in The Church of God and raised in it until my late teens. After a few years of rebellion I began going to a non-denominational church for the last 28yrs. until I moved up here to CT. Now I'm looking for a church in my area.
  16. Thank you Blindseeker for the explaination. I guess that means I was raised pentecostal, but now I'm charasmatic. Boy all this titling can get confusing, I think I'll stick to "Christian"
  17. I know this may sound like a silly question to some, but when ever someone has asked me what denomination I belong to my answer is always charasmatic/pentecostal. Now I see some who say "I'm charasmatic not pentecostal" or vise versa. So what's the difference? I feel really silly asking this question because after 30 some odd years of being saved I should know this answer. Is there really a difference?
  18. Actually I don't think you can vote anymore. The two hour season finally is tonite, where they announce the winner. It's on Fox at 8:00pm EST I don't know what time that would be where you are.
  19. So what is this?........Pick on stacey day.... Everybody knows what I need to hear, when I need it Thank you Dave Awesome post.

He's serious unfortunately Sorry poke but that sounds really judgemental. I perfer CC and 7up myself. It's not what kind of alcohol you drink, it's about intoxication. I'm sorry. I just don't see a mature Christian saying things like that. It bugs me. If I'm wrong, tell me. I think I'd gasp if I heard a pastor say something like that. I'd only expect to hear it from a college student. I apologize for being judgemental, though. It's a sin I seriously struggle with day-to-day. Forgive me? No problem poke But reguardless if it takes a whole bottle of wine to get drunk or just two mixed drinks, each of us is responsible for knowing our limits. And I am being totally serious, I don't know if it's my Irish blood or what, but I can get more tipsy off a couple of glasses of wine than if I drank mixed drinks all night long. But I do know my limits reguardless of what I drink, and not cross the line into intoxication.

  22. Believer I was going to basically say the same thing. Even in the case of abused kids it's more for their spiritual well being that they forgive and honor their parents. It would go along way in their own healing.
  23. This season has been awesome on AI and they've had a lot of really great talent. But I have to keep going with my fave since Hollywood week. Kris is good I'll say that, but Adam is phenominal. IMO he's about the best they ever had on AI.
  24. I don't believe that poverty and lack is a gift or blessing from God. Yes it is a learning period to build our faith and we must have faith in God to see us through. I don't think we're all to be millionaires either, but God has promised we should be the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, we should be able to lend and not borrow. I have lived in abundance and in lack, and living in lack is a prison, you can't do many things that God wants us to be able to do. He wants us to enjoy life and the fullness thereof and you can't do that if you don't even know where your next meal is coming from.
  25. I messed with the things alot when I was a teenager. And when we different have a "real" board on hand we wrote it out on a small end table, the effect was still as dramatic. I don't believe the board itself holds any power, it's but a gateway to the spiritual. Anything can be misused to that effect. I have seen alot of things because of messing with the occult (AND I KNEW BETTER), from things flying around the room to demonic possesion. Just stay away from all that garbage, it's no fun kiddie game!!!
