  1. There is nothing new under the sun. This has been done in days of old, long ago. We have been conditioned to believe that we are much smarter than they were in the days following Adam and Eve, however, that is unlikely and really quite foolish. They were all living close to 1000 years of life, few of us live to see 100 years of life. Imagine what the great thinkers and researchers could come up with in 1000 years! All over the world there are stories of transhuman creatures throughout the history of man, and most cases of idol worship involves transhuman idols that are to represent 'gods". Certainly, the giants of biblical history were evil, were enemies of God's people, and had to be wiped out by God's people. We know that certain genetic markers trigger and/or halt growth, and modern cases of giantism are almost exclusively a genetic flaw. It is my opinion that the devil is still doing evil, and there are still humans that cooperate with evil, including some in the scientific community.
  2. Sorry, I didn't realize you were speaking to me. Of course I do have an opinion. Christians have had a long history of fighting scientific research by casting out words like "blasphemy" and "heresy" whenever discussions go beyond the understanding of spices used in the kitchen, however, I don't mind being attacked so here is my opinion. There is a lot of stuff we don't know. There is also a lot of stuff that we don't know that we don't know. There are also many things that are true that we have never, ever heard of, and should we hear of something we have not ever considered, we might immediately reject even the discussion of such an idea. Not to many centuries ago, the earth was flat, not a globe as we all believe now, but flat like a plate. To believe otherwise might get you burned at the stake. There are powers and forces that are not readily visible to the naked eye nor are they easily subjected to scientific study in a test tube or other type of experiment, among these are such rare things as quarks or such common things as DNA. Our ability to map the DNA has not produced great understanding concerning each individual marker, nor the results of various combinations. Many discoveries were the result of trial and error, or sometimes random sloppiness... However, imagine if there were spiritual beings thousands of years old that had the ability to communicate with mankind and understood many of these "secrets", oh, that's right, there are, called demons and the devil, found in the garden of eden and in my bible and yours. The bible quotes the book of Enoch, so I think it is reasonable that we can read it. The bible refrences the book of Jasur, so why not at least look at them (these books) and see what they say? Understand that I believe that anything the devil wants to give you is dangerous to you, perverted by his attention, and you are always wise to give no place to the devil at all. That being said, there are many that recklessly serve the devil and his plans both with full awareness and with complete unawareness, but that does not mean that they don't obtain for a short time use of powers and forces that they have no right to mess with nor do they understand the dangers, but still they do mess with that stuff. In a water environment, a heavy object often weighs less due to the ability of the water to provide some lift because of water density. In a weightless environment, the heavy object has no weight because the force of gravity does not grip it, or grips it very little. If an object is transported into an environment where gravity is lessened by a repelling force (water) or where gravity is little or no force at all (space), the heavy object becomes as difficult to move as a balloon, if you have sufficient force and mass to get it moving. So....altering the environment of an object can and does affect our ability to manipulate that object. We know that magnets have a strong force ability on iron, however, we are unaware of a similar force to cause that effect on marble, granite, or coral. Does the fact that we don't know of such a force make such a force not exist? No! Use a microwave and you are using unseen forces to heat without flame, and most of us really don't understand how that works. The secrets to gravity will likely soon become public knowledge, in a measure, just as many atomic secrets have become public knowledge. I for one do not believe that the understanding to create atomic weapons came from Jesus, I personally believe that the concepts and ideas were without a doubt inspired by the devil. We probably have not seen the end of evil scientific breakthroughs, but we know that there is a kingdom coming where Jesus is the king, and the mess will be put right that sin has wrecked.
  3. On another note, the potential of a church losing it's tax exempt status should not be a big worry. God provides all our needs, and the government is not really able to prevent that.
  4. First, there were many sincere people that were lead away into this area, we should do anything we can to help them. Second, we should avoid condemning anyone, as to do so also causes us to condemn ourselves. I have personally been wrong after having become a Christian, so error is not as shocking to me as it might be to someone else. Thirdly, we need to speak the truth boldly and clearly, to a world that has no idea that there is a war going on to deceive them that they might not convert to Christ. Pray, this did not take God by surprise, and He has a way to make good things come from any situation.
  5. Anyone can be saved, but the process is a one on one process with the Lord. Anyone not "hot" is either lukewarm or cold, and the danger of being spit out by the Lord is very real. In order to negate this possibility, the apostate church has come up with many doctrines of devils that tickle the ears by effectively removing the possibility that the Lord might reject anyone based on their works, even though the bible is very clear on this matter. Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
  6. "It was Adam who was, "...the anointed cherub that covered..," and when he willing yielded to Satan he gave all his authority and position to him." I couldn't disagree more on this statement. As to Lucifer/Satan/Demons/Devils/and all the rest, Jesus Christ triumphed over everything of the enemy, and because He did, we are more than conquerers. Thank You Lord Jesus!!
  7. Let's talk about this. The context of the statement was that within the 40 year period, as set forth by the majority of the end time teachers, this would not be so. The mark of the beast is even now in place and we do not see it. In so far as the book being for sale I'm unsure as to how there are any copies available, as I personally have all that were published, or at least I thought so. I do think that God can and does speak to people, however, I know that sometimes we "expand" on what God said, in an effort to explain, and sometimes the explanation changes what God might have been trying to say. The mark of the beast (666) is one of the troubling and difficult-to-fully-understand references, and your explanation, while creative, still leaves some serious questions, such as... If a person takes the mark, he/she will drink of the wine of the wrath of God (Rev 14:9-10). If a person does not take the mark, he/she can not buy or sell (Rev 13:17). So here is the question.... If the mark of the beast is now in place, somehow yet unseen, how are we impacted in the buying/selling area, and how does not taking this mark work if it cannot be seen, and there appears to be no visible gain or loss of ability to buy and sell?
  8. Several years ago I happened to be walking in downtown Topeka, Kansas and they were protesting with very vile and suggestive signs. I was not familiar with them, and I started to ask a white haired man that seamed to be their leader what this all meant, (later learned it was Fred himself) and he flew into a bizarre rage calling me a pervert and a homosexual and other very vicious worded attacks. I assured him I was a husband and father, and a Christian, just wondering, but he was off on bizarre tantrum and could not be spoken to. I seriously considered that perhaps he was mentally challenged, and I don't doubt he was in captivity by the enemy.
  9. Amen! "Convergence Theology" is a dangerous minefield that we should be wary of treading into. When we try to converge opinion with scripture, we are from the start, working on shaky foundations.... And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 1 Kings 18:21-22 (KJV) We as humans form our opinions based on something or even sometimes nothing, yet for all of us, our own opinion carries the day, and we walk according to the opinion that we believe to be truth, be it truth or not. Opinion MUST eventually conform to the scriptures, or we are in serious trouble. But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. Matt 21:28 (KJV)
  10. 2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. This talks to being born again. One is born again only through Jesus And no one enters heaven (knows the Father) except through Jesus Blessings Begins with believing, moves into obeying, and continues with fighting the good fight. Peter preached in Acts 2 the first sermon to the church, 2000 were saved that day by it, I recommend you read it, I suspect that all that was needed to be saved was included in that first message, the day the Holy Spirit fell, and the day the first sermon was preached by the newly Spirit filled Apostles. Paul himself double checked his ministry by checking with those in Jerusalem (Gal 2:2)
  11. I have been rereading Isaiah, prompted by a recent sermon from a dear friend that is a pastor, where he mentioned that Isaiah's early chapters are WOE WOE until he sees the Lord in chapter six, and then having seen the Lord, he is more positive and more of a prophet of hope and the coming salvation via Jesus Christ. I just searched "woe" in Isaiah, and after chapter six, I find woe in chapters 10,17,18, 24, 28, 29...., so I am inclined to disagree with my friend, but it was a minor point in the message he was preaching, so I will likely never mention it to him, but I mention it here because it illustrates a simple point, being that sometimes we want something to be in the bible to validate what we think, and though we might look, we could miss what really is there because of our own preconceived ideas. Also, sometimes something is in the bible, but because we don't like it, or it is not our experience, we have a tendency to downplay it, ignore it, or even argue against it with great fervor. The search through prophecy is very difficult because we often have already formed an opinion, having been taught by other's that we love and respect. For whatever reason, God didn't give us a secret decoder ring that would allow us to simply dial in the answer, and so we search the scriptures (John 5:39), and also try to reason with God (Isaiah 1:18). However, when God reason's with us, usually He is calling us from sin, not trying to explain tomorrow's headlines (Isaiah 1:18). A New Testament prophecy and command requires us to understand what most of us hold differing points of thought on, namely "Come out of her my people" (Rev 18:4). We hold various views on who my people are, what Babylon is, and what it takes to come out. In the days when Jesus walked the earth, Israel was waiting for messiah to appear, and in our day, many in Israel are still waiting for him to appear. He will appear. (Mal 3:1) When you read verse 2 and on, you realize that some that are waiting for Him will not be so happy when He shows up. (Isaiah 58:2) They knew where (Matt 2:6), but the information was used by those in power to murder all the babies in the area trying to kill the Him. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. Psalms 25:14 (KJV) At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. Matt 11:25-26 (KJV) I have read a lot of prophecy commentaries, and many sermons, and many teachers, and the fact is that unless Jesus reveals, unless the Father reveals, unless the Holy Spirit reveals, we will continue o find ourselves discussing and rearranging puzzle pieces endlessly, attempting to force pieces together that may or may not belong to an entirely different picture than the one we are trying to assemble. I think it is interesting that so much of Isaiah's prophecies spoke concerning idols, and the foolishness of them, made by men, and how idols are just taking the material that God provided for certain purposes (wood for warmth, cooking, ect Isaiah 44:19) and creating a different image intended to comfort by way of worship. It might be that we can be involved in modern day idolatry in assembling or rather mis assembling what was intended for other purposes into a different image than what God intended. I am not trying to discourage discussions relating to prophecy, I am in fact very much in favor of them, what I am suggesting is after I have given my opinion and you have given yours, and they have given theirs, that we each of us personally seek God's help in revealing to us the truth, no matter how opposed we might be to that truth initially. The woman at the well had an opinion already formed, but when Jesus showed up, He told her all things that she had done, and in that revealing was the opening to reveal to her that He was the Christ. (John 4:29) Otherwise, I don't think we will understand, and therefore cannot move to obey Rev 18:4
  12. The Real Tale of Two Cities City of God Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Jerusalem / New Jerusalem Psalm 87 A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah. 1 His foundation is in the holy mountains. 2 The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. 3 Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah. 4 I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there. 5 And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her. 6 The Lord shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah. 7 As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee. While introducing us to the glorious city of God, mention is made of another city, Babylon. There is a purpose in all that God does, and every word of scripture matters. Making mention of Babylon (
  13. The Russians do this for the same reason all nations do this, to push the envelope, see if there is weakness, make the other nation respectful and cautious, and eventually, to have information necessary for war. The Russians are not our friends (USA), nor are they friends of Canada, in truth.
