  1. 29 See, this alone I found, that God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes.
  2. 27 Behold, this is what I found, says the Preacher, while adding one thing to another to find the scheme of things—
  3. How about prophecy? Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Who was the child that was born DJ? Notice anything there?
  4. No, you really don't. This is why you ignore all the scripture offered to you. The only time you have spent, is learning Muslim arguments and figuring out how to slip into that sheep costume. It won't save you in the end, you are in the same boat with them.
  5. You have a spirit alright, but it isn't holy. As has already been stated, you cannot even understand the simple things. Even the unbelieving Pharisees understood what Jesus meant when He said, I AM. Because they at least understood some of the basics about God, you fail to even grasp that much. Just as you fail to grasp what the Word made flesh means. There is very little difference between you and a Muslim, they would surely applaud your beliefs, other than correcting you about God having a Son. Plenty of scripture has been given to you, and you disregard it all in pursuit of your false teaching. Numbers 23:15 Balaam said to Balak, “Stand here beside your burnt offering, while I meet the Lord over there.” 16 And the Lord met Balaam and put a word in his mouth and said, “Return to Balak, and thus shall you speak.” John 1:18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, He has made Him known. Hmmmm who was that Balaam was meeting....... I wonder. Genesis 32:30 So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying, “For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life has been delivered.” Hmmmmmm who was that Jacob was wrestling....... I wonder. I John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. Hmmmmmm God abides in us, this sounds so familiar...... I wonder. John 6:56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. Hmmmmm Jesus said this...... I wonder. John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. Hmmmmm Jesus said all of this as well....... I wonder. II Timothy 1:14 By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you. Hmmmmmm that makes a Trinity..... I wonder. I John 4:13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. Hmmmmmm Now who was it again that said abide in me, and I abide in you? Well goodness gracious, that was JESUS...... Eureka! I John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. Getting any clearer? Time to get on the right side of things, before it is too late.
  6. We could spend a lifetime explaining them to you, but without the Holy Spirit you will never understand. Repent! Get to know Jesus of the bible, the only hope for salvation. As long as you deny Him, you are doomed. I Corinthians 2:14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
  7. It is possible that his illness is the cause for what you see as disinterest. Perhaps even medications he may be taking for it? The first thing I would advise is speaking with him about your concerns. The second thing I would advise is that marital counseling may be of benefit to you both. As for the pornography, I am not going to beat you up about it, I think you understand this needs to stop. Welcome to worthy by the way. God bless
  8. Hey brother, I agree with you, this is all speaking to future events. My disagreement with you previously, isn't in regards to your view on Antiochus IV being a type, I understand why and how he fits many of the details found in chapter 11. My opposition to this is based on this, it is all either history, or it is all future. There is nothing between verses 35 and 36 to distinguish a change other than how the text now appears with breaks and segments. The thought line is continuous. What I am saying basically is, history has a funny way of repeating itself. As to why, I believe the answer is also found in scripture. The enemy has consistently attempted to change the time of things, God's plan and prophecies. To me, Antiochus IV is just another example of a failed effort to change the appointed time of things, a red herring. Jerusalem has changed hands numerous times over the course of history, and this prophecy has yet to be fulfilled. Daniel references the appointed time often in his writing, 3 times in chapter 11 alone, including verse 35. Daniel 11:35 and some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it still awaits the appointed time. I hope that clarifies my objection, it isn't that I disagree with what you are saying in regards to the past, but that I still see this as future. It makes no sense that Jesus would warn of this nearly 200 years after it happened. God bless
  9. I don't need anyone to translate the Greek for me, so that attempt won't wash. I advise you take your own advice and turn from your error. Exactly, which is why I just showed you what scripture says. God says to Moses, I AM. Jesus says to the pharisees, I AM. No one has ever seen God, per the other scripture I showed, so who is God that is speaking to Moses? Think about it. God bless
  10. I am not the one lacking understanding. What's with all the I stuff, are you claiming to be Jesus now? And FYI, that is precisely what it means, which is why they wanted to kill Him for saying it. Again, I am not the one who is misunderstanding anything. Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” John 8:58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” John 1:18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, He has made Him known. Who said to Moses, I am? Keep in mind what the last verse clearly states. If you want to have proper understanding, turn to Him, and away from the deception you are caught up in. I Corinthians 2:14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. Praying for you, God bless
  11. 25 I turned my heart to know and to search out and to seek wisdom and the scheme of things, and to know the wickedness of folly and the foolishness that is madness.
  12. 23 All this I have tested by wisdom. I said, “I will be wise,” but it was far from me.
  13. 21 Do not take to heart all the things that people say, lest you hear your servant cursing you.
  14. 18 It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. Whoever fears God will avoid all extremes.
  15. No, I understood it just fine, that was precisely my point. People cannot make themselves pure or white, only Jesus can do that. Only one path to salvation, and you are arguing it happened roughly 198 years prematurely. I am not talking about the temple, nor does the passage, it is referring to the people specifically. And since when are people purified to the end of time by any act of the law? And yes, the passage is specific that it is to "the end of time." Oh really? You know what I think and my study habits now? Disappointed that you would resort to a remark like this, not called for.
  16. Sorry, there weren't "chapters" when He quoted it, those came later and lead to a lot of confusion. Like trying to separate what follows, when it is a continuation of the same prophecy. None of this, is true of Antiochus IV. Daniel 11:36 “And the king shall do as he wills. He shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak astonishing things against the God of gods. He shall prosper till the indignation is accomplished; for what is decreed shall be done. 37 He shall pay no attention to the gods of his fathers, or to the one beloved by women. He shall not pay attention to any other god, for he shall magnify himself above all. It was a statue of Zeus. Zeus, the god of his fathers, which he paid attention to by placing his statue in the temple. You also want to separate them from chapter 12, yet what is said specifically in both these chapters. Daniel 11:31 Forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the regular burnt offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate. Daniel 12:5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and behold, two others stood, one on this bank of the stream and one on that bank of the stream. 6 And someone said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, “How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?” 7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; he raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished. 8 I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, “O my lord, what shall be the outcome of these things?” 9 He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand. 11 And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days.12 Blessed is he who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days. 13 But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days.” You can talk in circles all you want, it doesn't sell to anyone but preterists. Is Daniel standing in his allotted place then, before Jesus had even come? What happened in history 1335 days later that made those who waited and arrived then blessed? The dilemma should be quite obvious, you cannot separate the two, because Daniel sure didn't. So either exactly 1335 days later, Daniel stood in his allotted place, which would have been sometime around 165-164 BC. Or if you want to try and convert those days to years, then Daniel stood in his allotted place sometime around 1167 AD. Neither of those scenarios is even slightly sensible. Furthermore, if you want to talk history, here are some facts regarding Antiochus IV. He wasn't in Jerusalem when the first rebellion started, Menelaus who had bought his way to the high priest position, had to travel to him to explain why he had not fulfilled his payment for the position. While he was gone, Jason, who was the original appointed high priest, was backed by the Jews who were opposed to Menelaus, a Tobiad, not a descendant of Aaron. It was because of this successful rebellion that Antiochus IV returned to Jerusalem, slaughtered a bunch of people, and reinstated Menelaus as high priest. Then he left Jerusalem again, and a second rebellion began. In response to this second rebellion, Judaism was outlawed, circumcision was forbidden, the Torah was not allowed to be read, and the keeping of kashrut (Jewish dietary laws) was also forbidden. THEN the statue of Zeus was placed in the temple, none of which Antiochus IV was present for.
  17. Well brother, I have to disagree with you both on this, and again, let's just examine what follows, including some of the verses you attribute to it. Daniel 11:34 When they stumble, they shall receive a little help. And many shall join themselves to them with flattery, 35 and some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it still awaits the appointed time. Is this possible 168 years before Jesus? How exactly can one make themselves pure and white? God bless
  18. So now Jesus was referring everyone to something that occurred 168 years before He even came to earth? Ridiculous. And why would He warn people to flee 168 years after the event happened? The abomination of desolation isn't some recurring event, otherwise people wouldn't recognize it when it happens.
  19. Hey brother, Really this whole theory belongs in the trash bin, and I will sum it up for you with just a few verses as to why. Of course read the whole chapter, but this says it all. Daniel 11:29 “At the time appointed he shall return and come into the south, but it shall not be this time as it was before. 30 For ships of Kittim shall come against him, and he shall be afraid and withdraw, and shall turn back and be enraged and take action against the holy covenant. He shall turn back and pay attention to those who forsake the holy covenant. 31 Forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the regular burnt offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate. 32 He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action. 33 And the wise among the people shall make many understand, though for some days they shall stumble by sword and flame, by captivity and plunder. 34 When they stumble, they shall receive a little help. And many shall join themselves to them with flattery, 35 and some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it still awaits the appointed time. Now, put the rest of this in the recycle bin where it belongs, because you cannot attribute anything above to Jesus. It is an absolutely flawed position that only leads people further from the truth. God bless
