  1. Glory good question. I guess the only reason it matters, at least to me, is that the man wanted to be President. Sort of a been there, done that reaction on my part.
  2. Whew~! Mark. Luke, Kings, Acts, Revelation, James, Ruth, Numbers, Job, Amos, Esther, Judges, Titus, Ecclesiastes, Lamentations, Hebrews, Peter.
  3. I once made a remark about the hidden books of the Bible. It was a lulu, kept people looking so hard for facts, as for others is was a revelation. Some were in a jam, especially since the names of the books are not capitalized, but the truth finally struck home to numbers of readers. To others, it was a real job. We want it to be a most fascinating few moments for you. Yes, there will be some really easy ones to spot. Others may require judges to help them. I will quickly admit it usually takes a minister (refers to Ecclesiastes) to find one of the 17, and there will be loud lamentations when it is found. A little lady says she brews a cup of tea so she can concentrate better. See how well you compete. Relax now, for there really are 17 books of the Bible in these sentences. (One preacher found 16 books in 20 minutes. It took him three weeks to find the seventeenth one.) P. S. I will post the key tommorow.
  4. It's amazing how 'humble' people get when they are caught. I find it hard to believe anything he says about it. Sorta reminds of Clinton. Oh well, Edwards needs prayer just like Clinton.
  5. John Edwards tells ABC News that he lied repeatedly about an affair, but he denies fathering a child. Uh huh. I guess we are supposed to believe that. Yeah right.
  6. Xan, I don't know why women should not expect the same thing for their husbands as most men want for their wives. Nothing wrong with that.
  7. Sheya, good point. Ok, darn, now I want to look like Sarah when I am her age...lol
  8. First, take out a $1 bill and look at it. Read it. At the very top are printed the words, "Federal Reserve Note". Basic Accounting 101: A note is: A legal document that acknowledges a debt and promises to pay. Who is borrowing and who is lending? The Federal Reserve bank is NOT a U.S. government bank. It is a private bank, wholly owned by private people of MANY national origins (think Moses Rothschild, J. D. Rockefeller and others). The United States government (our congress) in 1913 agreed to a Central Banking System with the Federal Reserve Bank as the core bank. Originally, we had "Gold Certificates". This paper money clearly was a certificate and was redeemable in actual gold. In 1934, the U.S. government made it illegal for private U.S. Citizens to own and possess actual gold. The best we can now do is own gold indirectly. Thus, the actual gold is in the hands of the government or the central banking systems around the world. Ok -- so, to answer the question: What is being borrowed? Who is borrowing? Who is lending? What is the collateral? Federal Reserve Notes are obligations of the United States and are a first lien on the assets of the issuing Federal Reserve Bank. In addition they are secured by a pledge of collateral equal to the face value of the notes. The collateral must consist of the following assets, alone or in any combination: 1. Gold certificates 2. Special Drawing Right Certificates 3. United States Government Securities 4. "Eligible paper" as described by the statute. Thus, here are the players: 1. Who is Borrower - United States (you and I). 2. Who is Lender? - Federal Reserve Bank (a few wealthy families beginning such as Rothschilds, Rockefellers, etc). 3. What is Borrowed? - Paper "Notes" worth very little (in terms of time, materials and labor to print and distribute). 4. What is Collateral? - What we own: Gold, Securities, Eligible Paper - deeds, titles, etc. We exchange our land, goods, services and labor in exchange for nearly worthless paper! When the demand for "paper" exceeded the gold and material goods of the country, we started "promising to pay" (borrowing). Thus, we said, "Give us more paper and we'll return the paper with interest in future collateral." - think: GDP. Thus, our grandparents and great-grandparents obligated themselves and us and our children to a cycle of slavery; exchanging real property and valuables for worthless paper. So, our "National Debt" is really a phantom. We truly owe nothing. Yet, as a nation through our congress in 1913 and subsequent legislation, we "promised" to these banker families through their "banks" to repay them our real property and valuables in exchange for their worthless paper money system (monopoly money). To answer your questions: Do we borrow from China or other countries? No and yes. No, we promise to exchange our present or future collateral for paper. Yes, we borrow from other central banks (i.e. the promise of collateral of other countries) to add to our own pot with a promise to repay based on the same collateral we have (present or future). If the credit-worthiness of the United States falls, then our capacity to keep "borrowing" collapses. Other countries will come and "demand" the collateral for the "notes" they've printed and we've "promised to repay" (real collateral for paper note). Thus, the creditors of the United State (We the People) are A) Wealthy World Banks and Banking Families and B) Other Nations Central Banks (also just wealthy banking families). Thus, increasing the "cash supply" (i.e. printing more paper) just means more "promises" by We the People (YOU AND I) to repay with our actual and real collateral (gold, securities, property, goods and services). If our economy were to collapse, other countries and bankers would come and demand us to relinquish ownership so they could "take control". We have set ourselves up to be financial slaves. The bible says clearly: Pro 22:7 The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to a man who lends. When We the People agreed to exchange our physical wealth for manufactured wealth of paper, we became instant borrowers and slaves (servants). We the People are so greedy and so ignorant and so in the perception of "debt" that we're landlocked away from TRUE freedom. You and I are no longer truly free. We are at the whim of the owners of money, the rich, the SUPER-wealthy, bankers, money-changers, central banks and governments who no longer do the peoples business but do their own. Our government is no longer about We the People, but about Power and Control through money and the veil of wealth and legislation. This is why Democrats think they can ignore the overall will of the people. This is why elites think they can ignore We the People and do as they please -- why? Because they DO!! Who of us is powerful enough to stand against them? Who of us is now presently powerful enough to say "Do as We the People want!" ANSWER: NONE OF US! 70%+ in the polls want "Drill here, Drill now" Does our congress respond to our will? NO! Even silly ignorant Republicans in the Senate side with Democrats on legislation that is little more than "appeasement" paper to make us "go away" and let them continue to rule as they (the elite) see fit! Awesome post!
  9. Two things struck me in this story. One, that the kids owned up to what they did. How refreshing when many in today's world don't want responsiblity for anything, much less their actions. The second thing is the mom, not only taking care of something her child was reponsible for, but also teaching him a lesson, by making him work to repay. Kudo's for all of them.
  10. We are guided by His words. He knows what is best for everyone and if we love Him, we will abide by them. Yes, that will mean that there are truths that will seem intolerant to some lifestyles, but if they were not, I would not be here right now. I can only praise the Lord for for the convictions that His truth brought to me and the examples His children lead. Without either, there would be no hope for the lost. Onelight, amen. I wouldn't be here either! Thank you for those heartfelt words.
  11. No need for confrontation. Just keep pointing to the Gospel. It would be presumptious for me to say I know what Jesus would want you to do, but I do know this....God does not call us without equipping us.
  12. Hannah, I don't know that its a bad thing to feel empathy. I would be more worried if you delighted in the fact that someone was sinning rather than being compasionate and loving them. It's sort of like when a child is being bad and you don't tolerate the bad behavior, but it hurts you to have to correct them. You feel for them while being really annoyed at the behavior. Does this make sense?
  13. Ovedya, I think we all have in some form or another. Traveller, thanks again. Good verse!
  14. I met the strangest man on the way to church: He said he believed in the Bible, but he never reads it. He said he thought well of the church of which he is a member, but he never attends. He said a man should be honest with God in money matters, but he never tithes. He said the younger generation nees the Lord, but he isn't leading them in that direction. He said the church needs dedicated Christian members, but he isn't dedicated. He said the church should do more ministering to people, but he doesn't help. He is critical of the way the church is run, but he never participates. He says the Lord is surely coming soon, but he lives as though the Lord will never return. He is critical of some of the church workers, but he never offers to work. He says that prayer changes things, but he never prays. He was a strange man indeed.
  15. Tigger, when we love someone we are willing to die for them. And even though your gesture is heartfelt no one can go to hell for another. Jesus has already paid for our sins. He died for us so that we would not have to recieve the punishment that was due us.
  16. As a Christian I don't see how you could not reply. Jesus said he would deny us if we deny Him. Isn't silence a form of denial? If you don't share Jesus, no matter the cost, don't you think you will give an account for not sharing when you knew you should. Just the fact that you asked the question means you are bothered by not saying something. That is a pricking from the Holy Spirit. To deny it is willful disobedience. God gives us opportunities to share and we are supposed to take them.
  17. I see that you are a non-believer so you view makes sense to you. But as a Christian I would disgaree, because any sin that we do that affects us is wrong. You said as long as you live without harming other people that you are tolerant of that, but according to Scripture we don't have the right to harm ourselves either (harm as in sexual sins or any sin for that matter) because we were bought with a price, the blood of Jesus. I don't agree with protesting against lifestyles...I agree with sharing what the Gospel says regardless of the sin. Live and let live is not something a Christian can do with a nonbeliever, because that means not showing them what the Gospel says is wrong. If you live and let live then you are turning a blind eye on something that leads to destruction in the end. Thanks for sharing your view. I respect your right to share even if you are wrong
  18. This prayer is so timely. Lord Jesus, we ask Thee to guide the people of this nation as they exercise thier dearly bought privilege of franchise. May it neither be ignored unthinkingly nor undertaken lightly. As citizens all over this land go to the ballot boxes, give them a sense of high privilege and joyous responsibility. Help those who are about to be elected to public office to come to understand the real source of their mandate - a mandate given by no party machine, received at no polling booth, but given by God; a mandate to govern wisely; a mandate to represent God and truth at the heart of the nation; a mandate to do good in the name of Him under who this Republic was established. We ask Thee to lead America in the paths where Thou wouldst have her walk, to do the tasks which Thou hast laid before here. So may we together, seek happiness for all our citizens in the name of Him who created us all equal in His sight, and therefore brothers. Amen.
  19. The post office keeps increasing the cost of postage and it seems that we no longer communicate with our friends through letter writing. We use email. God has made no increase in the cost of communication with heaven. All you have to do is prepare your message with sincerity, address it care, seal it with faith, and it is sure to be properly delivered. (I would give credit to whoever wrote this but I have no idea)
  20. I have several books about Peter Marshall, an evangelist from Scotland, who later became the Chaplain of the Senate. I was reading through one of the books and found the following prayer and wanted to share it. Forgive me Lord, for the things I have done that make me feel uncomfortable in Thy presence. All the front that I plish so carefully for men to see, does not deceive Thee. For thou knowest every though that has left its shadow on my memory. Thou has marked every motive that curdled something sweet within me. I acknowledge, with sorrow and true repentance, that I have desired that which I should not have; I have toyed with what I knew was not for me; I have been preoccupied with self interest; I have invited unclean thoughts into my mind and entertained them as honored guests; My ears have often been deaf to Thy whisper; My eyes have often been blind to the signs of Thy guidance. Make me willing to be changed, even though it requires surgery of the soul, and the therapy of discipline. Make my heart warm, and soft, that I may recieve and accept now the blessings of Thy forgiveness, the benediction of Thy "Depart in peace and sin no more." In Jesus name. Amen
  21. To not tolerate anything that falls short of what God intends. If you take a dictionary and read what it means to 'tolerate' something...it means to have the capacity for or practice of recognizing and respecting the opinions, practices or behavior of others.. We can "not tolerate" practices or behaviors that are contrary to God's Word and what God says is acceptable. We don't have to be mean spirited in doing so, but there is NO room for compromise. We have to stand on God's Word when it comes to what we believe and show (with love) what God says is or is not the way.
