He told a manager that he would not call a transgender woman a “she”, adding that his faith meant he could not describe “any 6ft tall bearded man [as] madam’.” The following year, the Reformed Baptist went to an employment tribunal in Birmingham, claiming that he was unfairly dismissed because of his Christain beliefs. He claimed that the DWP’s refusal to allow him to address a client by their biological sex breached his rights to freedom of thought, conscience and rights to practise his religion. The medic told the hearing that he accepted transgender individuals “may find my views to be offensive”, but he had no intention of upsetting people but believed God made humans men or women. However, tribunal judges sitting in October 2019 concluded Dr Mackereth’s Christian belief was not protected by the Equality Act 2010, but was instead “mere opinion” so the DWP had not discriminated against him. Ms Forstater was sacked from her job at a think tank for saying people cannot change their biological sex. Although she lost her case at tribunal, she won a High Court appeal in 2019 when a judge found gender-critical beliefs fell under the Equalities Act, in part because they “did not seek to destroy the rights of trans persons”. The judge concluded her belief that sex is immutable was a philosophical position protected under equality laws because it fell far short of being an oppressive view, such as Nazism or totalitarianism, intended to harm others. Andrea Williams, the chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, said that if Dr Mackereth’s original tribunal ruling was upheld, it would have “seismic consequences not just for the NHS and for Christians, but anyone in the workplace who believes and says we are created male and female”. She said that the judges’ conclusion that a “lack of belief in transgenderism... is incompatible with human dignity and conflict with the rights of others” meant the teachings of the Bible were being placed in a similar category to the beliefs of neo-Nazis and Holocaust deniers. Medicine cannot function ‘without moral integrity’ Dr Mackereth, 58, said: “The employment tribunal judgment from two years ago said to Christians ‘you have to believe in transgender ideology’. That is totalitarianism. “It is a difficult issue for everyone in the NHS. There has been an explosion of patients identifying as transgender. The ideology to affirm them is enforced in a complex, coercive and threatening way.” He added: “Everyone in the NHS should be able to say publicly without fear that a person cannot change sex. But instead, we are being forced to accept a massive change to our concept of the medical reality of sex, with no scientific basis for that change. “Without intellectual and moral integrity, medicine cannot function and my 30 years as a doctor are now considered irrelevant compared to the risk that someone else might be offended. “As Christians, we are called to love all people with Christian love. My eight year old son keeps asking to visit a friend whom I've been attempting to contact for a couple years now each time he asks to see them. The mother is a fun-loving Christian(as far as I know) who used to have him over for sleepovers with her son who is a few years older than mine. He's always asking to visit the mother though. She was always the cool mom/babysitter. I miss her as well. But since I last contacted her I learned her teenaged girl has become transgender. My son used to see her daughter every Sunday at our old church and she used to help with the kids often. I'm not ready to talk to my homeschooled 8 year old about LGBQT.... anything yet. It's hard enough going into the birds and the bees as it is (though we've had many age appropriate ones as my husband and I see fit). But her daughter looks very different and calls herself a different name. How do I explain that his friend insists on being called a different gender and name without totally confusing him?

I am a 23 year old female. I've been struggling with my gender and sexuality since I was around 13 years old. I "came out" as gay in highschool. I "came out" as "transgender" a few years after that. I started dressing like a male around that time. I cut my hair short. I wore really baggy male clothes to hide my feminine figure. I even bound my chest. Everyone in my family knows me as a transgender. They know I like male stuff (Like video games, sci-fi, and fantasy stuff). They started calling me my "preferred name" a few months ago. I don't want to be known as a transgender or lesbian anymore. I want to be a woman. A godly woman. A woman who wears women's clothes, and covers her head like women are told to in the Bible. I believe pants were made for men. And, 99% of women's pants are too tight and not modest at all. I want to be a modest woman. I want to start wearing skirts and dresses. I want to grow my hair out. I dont want to sin like this anymore. Is there anyone here who has been suffering the same as me? I really need help right now. I feel so lost. I prayed to God for help, but, so far, nothing's happened. Well, I don't think anything's happened. I've been watching people's testimonies on YouTube, of ex-transgenders and ex-homosexuals. I think that is God's way of telling me that what I am doing is a sin. Is it? Do you think so? I've never acted on my homosexual thoughts, but I have watched porn before, and I feel really ashamed, guilty, and disgusted at myself for doing so. I believe masturbation and pornography is a sin, but I can't stop. I'm addicted to it. Please, anyone, help. Any ex-transgenders or ex-homosexuals, preferably women, on here?
