Guest LadyC
they also asked her to appear at a gay/lesbian event, in an "unofficial" capacity. that was verified by one of her directors on greta's show last night. of course, carrie refused. Guest LadyC
link doesn't work. i saw her on greta last night too. she refused to state her opinion on gay marriage, other than to say she thought it should be up to the voters... then when greta said "so the voters of california said no, so you support them?" (not really an exact quote) and the new girl back pedaled and said she had other issues she wanted to promote and did not want to get involved in the gay marriage one. But I did hear an earlier interview with her where she was asked how she would have answered the question, and she gave a nice PC answer.

The judges are probably not christians themselves and so how can one expect anything less from them? I'm old fashioned I know, but I would never ever go on national tv with the teeny little bathing suits either. My son says, oh mom, you're overweight, old, etc. and couldn't wear one. I said son, I still wouldn't. I'm not judging here, but I think christians should be modest. We don't know the full story about Miss California. Maybe she had pressures we didn't know about. Heaven knows California needs such.

Heaven knows California needs such. Miss Prejean is not quite the shining example of conservatism she was made out to be. She's a lovely girl but, IMO, a fake. She's not driven by ideology or faith but by the desire for fame and the nude photos show a lack of moral standards as well. Of course, she's still probablly superior to quite a few in politics right now (John Edwards comes to mind.)

Miss Elly, hit that kid on the head with a Nerf bat and explain to him that you are just as beautiful as Carrie Prejean in the eyes of the One who matters....the Lord. Btw, I agree with you. I would never present myself in such a manner either; it's indecent and degrading to women....regardless of how good they look.

I'm not sure that moral issues would keep one from seeking or winning an elected office in this country.... it has not stopped some in the past - I don't know how many of those 'tarnished' morally were women seeking office - sometimes there appears to be a double-standard for them - imo.
