The pattern in Daniel is like this. Dan. chapter 2, the dream of Nebuchadnezzar is a brief overview of the time from Nebuchadnezzar till the end of the world. Later in chapters 7 and 8 it gives more detail of the same period of time. The same pattern is followed in Dan. chapters 9 and 11. Dan. chapter 9:24-27 is a brief overview of the time from Daniel to the end of the world. It is spoken of in 69 weeks plus a 70th week. [Week is 7 years] There is a time break in there from the death of Jesus, verse 26 till the coming antichrist. Antichrist makes a covenant starting the 70th week, verse 27; the last 7 years till the end of the world called the tribulation period.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Daniel chapter 11 goes into the details of what happens during the 69 weeks and then shows what will happen during the last 7 years, the 70th week, when antichrist rules.

The same time break is in Daniel 11. From verse 11:20 to verse 11:21, there is a time break from the time of Jesus to the antichrist.

Caesar Augustus is the raiser of taxes in verse 20, and Jesus was alive as a teenager at the end of Augustus' rule. So you have the same time break in Daniel 11 as in Dan 9; from Jesus till the antichrist.

Daniel 11:20 Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes [in] the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.

Daniel 11:21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

Daniel 11:22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

Daniel 11:23 And after the league [made] with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.

The league made with him, verse 11:23, is a reference to Dan. 9:27; it is the covenant antichrist makes with the many living in Israel. That covenant or league the antichrist makes with Israel starts the last 7 years till the end of the world, the 70th week in Daniel 9. Dan. 11:23 till the end of Dan.11 shows what the antichrist will do during the last 7 years till the end when the dead are raised and Jesus comes back.

Causing the sacrifice and oblation to cease 9:27 is the same as Daniel 11:31.

Daniel 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily [sacrifice], and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

That is what antichrist will do in the middle of the last 7 years, 3.5 years till the end when he takes control of Israel and Jerusalem and runs most of the Jews out of the land, Rev. 12.

The rapture is at the end of the tribulation period, when Jesus returns. --see Matt. chapter 24

The pre tribulation rapture is false.

Since you were the first to use the "false doctrine" label, tell me, what scripture could you possibly have for claiming that the last 7 years till the end of the world called the tribulation period ... ??

The last 3.5 years is called the great tribulation.

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

That gathering together of the elect is the rapture.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

70 weeks of years of punishment on Israel make reconciliation for iniquity.

The last week, [last 7 years] the 70th week, which is written separate from the others, begins when the prince that shall come, the antichrist, {a roman ruler of the people that destroyed the city in 70 AD}, makes a covenant with the many gathered back into Israel after the end of the war (possibly WW2) and the end of the desolations in verse 26. The desolations ended after World War 2 when Israel became a nation again, in 1948. After the 70th week of 7 years happens everlasting righteousness is brought in; that is why the last 7 years goes till the end, when Jesus comes back. It is called a time of tribulation because it is the last week of punishment on Israel. But if you look in Revelation this time is also a time of tribulation on the whole world also. In the middle of the last 7 years, the antichrist moves his throne to Jerusalem and runs the Jews out of the land again causing desolation again until Jesus returns.

Benedict, [benediktos in Greek] adds up to 666 when the greek number equivalents of the letters are substituted. Martin Luther thought the antichrist might be a pope named Benedict. You can look that up on google; Martin Luther 666 Benediktos. See Revelation 13 about the number of the name of the man called the beast or antichrist.

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Ah, now you're getting scriptural. And the parallel passage in Mark (13:19) states "For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will." So if Scripture talks about any eschatological time period called "The Tribulation," it's not the 70th week becuase it does not begin until the middle of the week (Daniel 9:27).

Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Aha, so then "The Tribulation" does not last the entire 3.5 years (the second half of the last week) becuase it is "shortened."

So, a Biblical use of the term Tribulation concerning a future time period refers to some time less than 42 months that begins in the middle of the last seven years and ends before the end of the seven years. I wonder what happens during the remaining 70th week after the end of the "Tribulation" ?

Ever notice how these are the very cosmic disturbances in response to the Sixth Seal? (Revelation 6:12)

I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake;
  • and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair,

  • and the whole moon became like blood;

  • and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind.

  • The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and

  • every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"

Just a though, but if "The Tribulation" ends at the sixth seal, could the rest of the judgments occur after the Tribulation (which is cut short) but before the 70th week is complete? Wow, wouldn't that blow a lot of current eschatology teaching !

Daniel Chapter 2: 40-45 constitutes the world's most outstanding prophecy re coming world events re the entire line-up of Gentile nations before their overthrow by the Coming Christ of Glory. Then, of course, Daniel 9:24-27 constitutes the future of Israel & its Temple worship with the Coming of their Great King. Only the Holy Bible of Truth speaks to the precise & exact future of this present evil world. Truly, "The Word of God is not bound!" The world's UltraLib News Media Elite neglect it at their own eternal peril!

Read the end of the seals, trumpets and vials carefully. You will see that they all go to the end of the tribulation period.

Seals:

Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Revelation 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Revelation 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Revelation 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Revelation 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The sixth seal goes all the way to the return of Jesus and the day of His wrath, from the context of what is written there.

The seals go all the way to the end of the tribulation period.

Note: the great earth quake.

Trumpets:

Revelation 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

At the sounding of the seventh trumpet the end comes. It happens also at the end of the tribulation period like the seals do.

Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become [the kingdoms] of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 11:16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

Revelation 11:17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

Revelation 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

note the earthquake.

The trumpets also go to the end of the tribulation period, from the context of what is said.

vials:

Revelation 15:1 shows the vials to be the last plagues.

Revelation 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

Revelation 16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great.

note the earthquake

The vials also go to the end of the tribulation period, from the context of what is said.

At the end of the tribulation period you have a great earthquake. The same earthquake is mentioned 3 times, at the end of the seals, trumpets and vials, because they all end at the time of the earthquake.

So, from the context of what is written, the seals, trumpets and vials go all the way to the end of the tribulation period when Jesus comes back. So, they must overlap each other in the chronology of how the events are going to happen.

John gave the separate visions in the order that the visions were given to him. You need to look at the context of what is said in the visions to fill in the chronology of when the events are going to happen.

If you try to see it as actually happening in the order that it is written there will be contradictions. Contradictions always show that the interpretation is wrong. True interpretations have no contradictions.

Cyrus died in 529 bc, 490 years from 529 equals 39 years before Christ. Go figure.
