I saw a political sign on the side of the highway today which said:

Obama/Biden

Affordable Health Care

To me, this was really ironic that politicians are offering to sell us our own health. Have Americans really forgotten what liberty is? Do we deserve liberty if we can't even remember what it was like?

Why would anyone trust a politician for anything...much less their health?

I agree with you on that one. The government needs to stay out of our healthcare and frankly, out of our business. :24:

Why trust the government for health care which works in other countries that run a surplus when you can just pay Tens of Thousands of Dollars if you get in a car accident? Debt is real freedom.

You're Canadian and you don't know that, for cutting edge health care ,your countrymen come here? That in Britain the lines are months long to see G.P.s? That government run medicine ceases to innovate and research? There's no profit in doing so. I just saw a news report on MRI machines in Canada....10 to 15 years old is the norm in your country, B.E. Canadians I know down here say the Canadian system is adequate but nothing stellar.

One can see the GP same day.State run hospitals and health care may not be the best but are available to anyone especially to the ones that cannot afford it.Infact state run health care has improved even in countries that had none. The problem start when the state tries to privatise sections of the healthcare following the US style which may work in the US but not necessarily in other countries.

Private care maybe better off in machinery and doctors but then one must take private insurance to afford it.On the other hand it is cheaper to pay an insurance company to have state+private care than paying state insurance to have only state insurance.

In general in the US private services work better than state run ones but in Europe it is the other way around

Blessings

One thing that probably should be considered in comparing the US to other countries -

The sizes of the countries.

Has anyone thought of that?

Blessings,

hmm. Let's be honest.... It's not working too well in Canada, according to Canada's top medical authority.

This link is to Unite a UK union related to health care from a different point of view.It is a petition to keep the NHS public. The Unite union has off-course its own reasons to keep it public. One has to bear in mind the ones that cannot afford to pay forhealthcare and whatever system the US will eventually have it should be the one that is best for them either one agrees with it or not.

I pray for americans get the best system possible.

Blessings
