Parkers right.

There is already stirring a movement by small businesses and some States to not send in their Federal Tax revenues, which will cause a State of Emergency if it even happened for one month because of our outstanding debt. The Federal Government would not be able to service the National debt, let alone the interest on it, and this would cause massive problems not only here but Internationally.

Think about it. If that happened on a large scale. What would the Fed's do about it? They have no authority in place to handle such a large defection.

I don't believe it will get that far as I believe we are in for another massive and terrible act of Terrorism that will shift the focus once again. Either that or a War in the Middle East, very soon.

That's what Scripture tells us will happen. Look for the Rapture, folks!

That's what I believe is going to happen too; either, or, or both.

How about a basic Google search for the woman's name?

Or here is a reputable source among the DOZENS I found: http://www.onthemedia.org/transcripts/2009/07/24/03

It's considered bad form to post something without the source. But I will look at the link you provided this time around.

It doesn't surprise me at all; I've heard this from Canadians here in Houston before. They don't paint as negative a picture as the article but it seems to be a common problem with the lack of doctors in different parts of that country. Mostly in smaller towns. It's not looking like a system that most of us would want to emulate; especially considering we have ten times the population of Canada. And they have WAY too much government involvement in citizens' affairs.

As a Canadian I can assure we have problems with our system. Some are these problems are simply because we have many remote and lower populated regions. This makes providing the maximum standard of care for everyone very difficult. America does not really have that problem for the most part.

The main thing we Canadians complain about is waiting lists. There are innumerable stories about waiting lists to get tests and examinations by specialists. These wait lists are sometimes totally ridiculous and basically the same thing as unavailable service. However, I think that is something that is still being worked through, and certainly isn't the usual situation. By and far, a massive majority of Canadians receive the critical care they need in a reasonable amount of time. And almost the entire bill is covered by the government. (obviously the money comes from our taxes though. and our taxes are way too high, there are a lot of things that add to this beyond health care)

Do we have problems with our health care system in Canada. Yes we do. Would we trade our system for the American system. Never in a billion years.

When Canadians are asked "what things make you proud to be Canadian?" One of the number one things they say is, our health care system.

Good Post! As a Canadian I really love our health care system. It is not perfect of course. I live in a remote area and don't have a doctor but I can always go to the walk in clinics. I have had a few operations when I was young and the costs were all covered for the best treatments known to man. Presently I still undergo some treatments by a specialist and they are all covered by our health care system. I am so thankful to God that Canada has universal health care.

Universal health care is a human right for all people. Obama's work in bringing health care to all Americans is the work of the Lord.

I agree that health care should be available to EVERYONE. But Americans, almost 70%, don't want Obama's plan. We are a different people, we don't like Washington running things. And we have 10 times the population. I hear both good and bad things about the NHS in Canada (from Canadians here in Houston) and they know better than I. I just know we, Americans, don't want government run health care.

I never had to wait in emergency for more than probably 2 hours and never heard of anyone who had to wait more than 5 hours.

The weird thing about the US system is it is not consistent. Some areas of the country are great, others are horrible. I do think we have really good doctors here. We do great medical research here, probably the cutting edge in the world.

However we have unhealthy people overall and more disturbingly we die younger than most industrialized nations. One would think that one outcome of a good health care system would be a longer life? Yet I think we are number 14 or 15 in life expectancy right about Costa Rica. Also this is what astounds me, we pay more than socialized systems. The cost per person in the US for our health care is more than in Canada. Some people get really great care here, some people get NO care.

Personally I believe we need to reform our health care system, the status quo is no good. But I don't think we have the ability to run a fair government system. The bill right now looks like one big Obama payoff to his political buddies, it will be seen as unjust and it is.

We could simply start with expanding medicare a little, expanding medicaid a little, and by letting insurance companies compete across state lines and outlawing the denial of insurance for pre-existing conditions.

That is too bad if it is so, that Americans don't want government run health care. Why stop someone who is trying to help everyone and not just the rich. Governments have a responsibility to the people. It is their job to serve the people. In Canada and Europe we have very good social programs run by our governments to help society. Hopefully Obama can bring social programs to United States to help lift the weak and make the society more civilized and under God's law.

God has no law that holds socialism as the ideal. Our government is not capable of running a health care system, even if yours manages to do so. And we are quite civilized down here already, thank you.
