I like that!
Guest shiloh357
It is often just a note of exasperation - Isn't that equivalent to using the Lord's name in vain? No, I don't see how that would fit. a desire to see Jesus finally bring an end to the bad things they are seeing around them - So the desire is for the Lord's hand but not His face? We want His blessing, but not Him just for Him?Again, why can't it be both. Is it wrong for a person to want to be married for all blessnigs it can bring and still love the other person just as much? Imagine being engaged to a girl. Imagine overhearing that in conversations with others when talking about how bad her situation is as a single person is the only time she ever says, "I can't wait to get married!" Wouldn't that bother you? Only if that was the ONLY time she wanted to be married. Like I said, I don't think people only want Jesus to come back when things are bad, so you may be reading something into their words that is not there. What is bothering me is that I'm not seeing/hearing the desire for Jesus' coming apart from seeing Him as "the big fixer". In other words, I'm not seeing "both". There has been sin and trouble as long as I can remember, so when has there been a time where everything was right and people could say, "Come quickly Lord Jesus." The Bible states that man's days are few and full of trouble.

When have things been good? There has been sin and trouble as long as I can remember, so when has there been a time where everything was right and people could say, "Come quickly Lord Jesus." The Bible states that man's days are few and full of trouble. As someone pointed out, this is written in Scripture a couple times. Did they write this after the descriptions of how bad the world is? 1 Cor. 16:19-24 The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. The greeting is in my own hand -Paul. If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be accursed. Maranatha! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen. Rev. 22:20,21 He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen. Well that's exactly who He is... even to our own decaying bodies. His love will be demostrated in every area upon His return... shall we recieve it?
