There are many fundamentalist churches where women only wear dresses or skirts. A preppy cult?

Here is the student handbook: http://webpages.charter.net/faithbaptistsc...handbookpdf.pdf Excerpts from the handbook: Dating The Bible clearly teaches the sanctity and holiness of marriage. Because no other intimate relationship is sanctioned in Scripture, we believe that dating should be for the sole purpose of finding God's perfect will for one's life. Since this should be done under the guidance and protection of parents, we will not allow any dating at the school. We want our young men and ladies to enjoy proper relationships without the pressure of a dating emphasis. Personal Grooming Girls may wear makeup in a moderate way that portrays a natural look and does not draw undue attention to themselves. Hair must be combed and cut in a conventional and conservative style. Extreme haircuts or styles are not permitted. Boy's hair is to be off the collar and ears and above the eyebrows. Faces are to be clean-shaven with sideburns cut to the middle of the ear or shorter. Grades 1-6 dress code In order to create a positive learning environment, we ask that you follow these guidelines: 1. Boys are to wear collared polo shirts with buttons, shirts that button down the front, or turtleneck shirts or sweaters. No sweatshirts are to be worn in the classrooms. Boys are to wear solid color slacks with a belt (please no blue jeans, wind pants, or camouflage pants). 2. Girls are to wear dresses, skirts, or jumpers that go below the knee when standing and cover the knee when sitting. Tops should have a modest neckline and cover the shoulders and stomach. If you like the school and what they contribute to the physical ,educational and spiritual well being to your child and you can live with their terms .. well then, enjoy the privilege of their education of your child.. if not..find a place where your child is better off... if you feel God is telling you to remove them then do so... Praying the Lord will guide you in all your choices... This sounds like a Baptist school to me..;-)... sounds like one of those good cults... Cult... A system of religious beliefs and rituals

Most schools here have very strict uniform requirements. You will have your child sent home if they aren't dressed correctly. As for churches.... strict dress rules usually mean (in my opinion, please no rocks) an unhealthy focus on the letter of the law, rather than the spirit of the law. Doesn't make them a cult thought.
