"None of the above" since there is no option that simply says "God". When you have a relationship with God....you have a relationship with each of the members of the Godhead, and I don't see how it can be more intimate with Jesus than the Father, or more intimate with the Father than the Spirit, or more intimate with the Spirit than Jesus...etc.

All the same. When I pray to God, I am addressing all three.

Who do you pray to? God the Father, Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit, or God? I pray to the Father! I am indwelled by the Spirit, reconciled to God the Father, through Jesus the Son. They all have different roles.

Is it even possible to love one and neither of the other two?

It's not about one or the other. We all love each of them.

But they have different roles, and we identify differently with each of them. Check out the Lord's prayer (we pray to the Father!) and also 1 John 2.

they may have different roles, but they are still one. :emot-highfive:

They are one, but they are also different. The Father is not the Son. The Son is not the Holy Spirit.

They each have features that draw them to us, and some of us, for example, relate better to the Father aspect, some of us better to the suffering servant aspect of Christ... some to the Holy Spirit.

It's not a trick question.

They are all equal, and One, but we also have a relationship with each separately.

Guest LadyC

when i pray, i pray to both the Father and the Son, often addressing both of them several times within the same prayer, and always in the name of Jesus, invoking or requesting the comfort, guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit.

i don't distinguish between the three. so i guess that would be my answer... it's equal. but i already did a null vote...

Not sure how to answer.

I know we are to know "God" - which should encompass all 3.

But I am learning about knowing and understanding the Holy Spirit (who dwells in me, interacts with me, leads me, guides me, instructs me, comforts me, etc.), Jesus (who sits at the right hand of the Father ever interceding for us), and the Father Himself distinctly and individually.

I'd try to explain that, but based on previous convos, I know I'd get jumped on, and I don't feel like engaging in that battle right now.
