There is one Bride and we are not her as if that has any bearing since she does not appear until after the White Throne Judgement. Â And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Â Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; Â And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: Â On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. We are the body of Christ, we are betrothed to Him when we accept Him, He is not married to a city. Ex.22:17If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money according to the bride-price of virgins. Jesus paid the price for us to be released from Satan. Is. 49:18 Lift up your eyes, look around and see; All these gather together and come to you. As I live," says the Lord, "You shall surely clothe yourselves with them all as an ornament, And bind them on you as a bride does. Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. I have given my thoughts on this many times in the parable of the lost son receiving the robe (of righteousness) and going to the feast (the marriage supper of the Lamb) Isa 62:5 -b And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you. Jer 2:32 - Can a virgin forget her ornaments, Or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number. His people the Jews, don't have the robe of righteousness- Jesus Joel 2:16 Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room.
